      @INMORTAL KING what issues exactly? I dont have any with mine. Sometimes I might hit false neutral when down shifting or upshifting but that is usually my own fault, not the bike.

      @INMORTAL KING I haven't had that issue. I suggest you take it back to your local KTM dealer and get them to take a look at the quickshifter. It may require a slight adjustment.

    Really great review. I echo the issues with the oil leak and coolant issues (fixed under warranty)I think your summary of why you bought the bike over the Triple RS is the reason why so many have bought the bike - price. What other bike offers you an awesome engine, light weight, an up and down shifter and an electronics package that belongs on a super bike? I can't think of one.

    There is an electronic update about that supress the problem shift between 5 and 6. I did it.
    I choose the front discs powerparts and the aluminium T front fork. It limitates the movements on this bike but doesn't delete them. it still controlable and normal on such a light bike. Especially that i added an lithium batterye and 0.9k exhaust from ixrace.
    I had an oil leak too on the high engine and it's now resolve thanks to a new gasket available in my ktm dealership.
    For information, thanks to the new 790 adventure it will be possible to add the electronic cruise control if you change the left commodo and do an electronic update. That's an information i have from official KTM France.
    See you.

      Arnaud D. Thx, haven’t had the chance to try out the QS yet after software update(long winter).

    Great video. Very helpful to me. I plan on purchasing the KTM 790 Duke next month. The leaking issue makes me worried. From what I’ve read online, KTM doesn’t have the best reputation in the United States. I don’t know if that’s entirely true. I still love the bike and hope you are enjoying yours.

Personally, haven’t had any other major issues with the bike. I do not know the quality of KTM support in USA (here in Finland, very good), but my advice would be that you should at least have one in close vicinity and maybe ask if they store reserve parts there. Cheers!

    Hyvä arvostelu. Olen kahden vaiheilla, MT09 (SP) vai 790. Molempia olen ajanut kadulla muutaman tunnin. Saman tyyliset mopot ja samassa hintaluokassa. Yamahassa parempi alusta toki (Öhlins).

    • @a2matu197
      @a2matu197  5 лет назад

      Shankars Vlog Hi! I have not ridden the Z900, so at this point I can only say based on specs. D790 has a lighter weight & incredible electronics package for its price/class. Z900 has more power and torque, plus the 4 cylinder engine is probably smoother and more pull at higher revs. The d790 parallel twin is extremely smooth for its type of engine and has surprisingly good amount of pull at the top. Kawasaki sure scores more points in terms of manufacturers reliability and also provides 4 year warranty option. I will try to get a test drive from a Kawasaki dealership this season in order to provide you with a better comparison. Cheers!

      Hernan Romero Most of 2018 bikes had leaking issues, but it’s not a biggie as the leaks are not terrible, as long as you acknowledge that they might happen and constantly keep an eye on it. I had more leaks aswell because I was always pushing my ktm to its limits and asking allot of it-> so there was allot more heat than usual. Just check the usual cooling liquid tubes, front sprocket, engine head. If leaks happens, dealership will fix it for you quick and easy:). Hope I answered your question! Cheers

    Great review, as a fellow 790 owner I agree. I've only ridden ~2500km but so far no issues. Heated grips are awesome and much needed here in the North but the button is awful, looks like it's coming straight from Biltema :)

      Swebiker Thx! Absolutely:). Now I’m waiting for them to release the cruisecontrol system for the duke, it is already available for the adv model.

    • @a2matu197
      @a2matu197  5 лет назад

      Bahlkong ive got information from Ktm Nordic regarding the CC. They told me all that is needed is combination switch (currently on adv) and software update with activation code! All this only available on ADV at this moment.
      I agree-> the Street triple RS is more refined and stable at high speeds, but the Duke definitely takes the fun factor and is more flickable.

    how does the ducati 821 compare to this

    • @a2matu197
      @a2matu197  5 лет назад +1

      Im LosLakers based on the specs I would say the Ducati has tad more power and better breaks, while D790 is lighter and has better electronics package. My past Ducati experience has never taken me to Monsters before, so in order for me to give you a full assessment I would need to ride one first. If you would like I can add Monster 821 to my first ride review list once the season begins, for full comparison with the D790. Cheers!

      @@a2matu197 thanks man cuz i recently rode the 790 and i really like it the sitting position is so comfortable i just wanted to know which bike should i buy first the 790 ktm or super duke 1290 or monster 821 thanks

    • @a2matu197
      @a2matu197  5 лет назад

      Im LosLakers The Super-duke is a special beast, in another league and also twice as expensive. The beast is comparable to bmw s1000r, aprilia tuono, Yamaha mt-10. For the price the D790 is an exceptional machine-> very lightweight and handles extraordinary in tight situations. The monster cost more and for the money you can get the 821 you can get higher class bikes, but this opinion is based purely on specs-> I will know better after I ride the new monster! Cheers!

    Very nice review, loved it!
    Just a quick question : why did you changed the handlebar in the end?
    I plan to buy this bike but I felt it could be even better if it was taller so I will buy the +2cm seat and I was wondering if taking a straighter handlebar would be also better. What's your opinion?

    • @a2matu197
      @a2matu197  5 лет назад +1

      Ncls Trrl Hello & thank you!
      I changed for more straighter and wider bars ( taller rider). For taller riders, not only can you have higher seat but you can also adjust your bar more forward and different tilt. For me-> I have lower, straighter/wider bar in the most forward “mount” position, this puts me into more sporty seating position and more over the front-> this gives me more stability in high speed corners:).
      Cheers!

    • @a2matu197
      @a2matu197  5 лет назад

      Elie Nehme I did try the old-gen MT09 couple of years ago-> then it was still riddled with soft suspension and bad fueling-> loved the engine thou! But I’m very interested in trying out the new-gen SP version this coming season. Would you like me to do a first-ride review? Cheers!

      @@a2matu197 absolutely. The mt09 new generation is so refined compared to the old one. And I like to hear your opinion on it especially you are experienced with the 790 duke, and you may compare it well with it.

      @@a2matu197 Yeap,do it :) I am in the same boot. For this season as I sold my 690 few months ago,I want to get the 790,but even tho I am a hardcore orange blooded,as I am getting older,I want my bike to be more on the streets then in the shop fixing it. Thats why I am looking into a MT-09,not the SP tho. Here where I live,the MT is cheaper by 1000$ and my fried has a '18 SP, and he had no issues so far at 30K km's. So the question is,stay true to the orange family,or go with the more reliable Japanese :) Cheers mate.

    • @a2matu197
      @a2matu197  5 лет назад +1

      sinXO On top of that-> Yamaha right now is the most reliable manufacturer in the market with only 11% owners needing any kind of warranty fix within the first 4 years of their ownership:). You also get up to 4 years warranty ( 2years standard + 2 years extended for a small fee), so if reliability is what you are after it’s definitely a no brainer! I aswell have been spoiled by the bulletproof reliability of Japanese manufacturers in the past (Kawasaki, Suzuki) so I absolutely understand you!
