Thank you for bringing attention to this problem. I escaped my abuser over a decade ago and he keeps trying to get full custody of our child. I know many moms who are dealing with similar situations, many mothers, good healthy parents, who have had their children completely taken away from them. I know other mothers whose children were murdered by the father as a way to get back at the mother for leaving him. Judges in these cases ignored the mothers' pleas and gave unsupervised parenting time to the abusive father. As one advocate put it: If the average person knew what goes on in our family courts they would not stand for it.

I am experiencing this right now with my daughter. I am a mental health professional and parent and have been HORRIFIED by what they are allowed to do this to our child. Our daughter’s pediatrician, therapist and psychiatrist have recommended against this and the court is ignoring them and calling me uncooperative and an obstructionist. Again it’s horrifying. HELP!!!!!

Parental alienation is real. You're either not educated enough on the subject or it has never happened to you. The Alienator wants to exclude the children from the other parent for a lifetime. Reunification therapy is a very short process. Once completed, the other parent is included back into the children's lives. The children have two involved parents once again.
Reunification therapy is a last resort when nothing else has worked with the alienating parent.

I have actually as I said in the video and I also said I'm aware it works however the science behind the therapy is what I'm questioning and the fact it can be bought and that In a lot cases the other parent can be shut out and a child forced towards an abuser. I'm not denying parental alienation I'm condemning the methods and pointing out the problems with it.

Reunification camps and therapy are dangerous, unregulated programs run by people who often aren't even licensed therapists. No one can be an "expert" in parental alienation because PA is not recognized by any reputable medical or psychological organization.
Of course, parents do sometimes speak poorly of their fellow co-parent, and sometimes children do align with the abusive parent who is saying terrible things. Generally, though the parent being accused of PA is not the one guilty of it. By and large, the parent who is trying to turn the child against the other parent is usually an abusive father. And, by and large, the parent being accused is the victim-mother who escaped abuse. A better term for this dynamic is Child and Mother Sabotage. The research of professor and lawyer Joan Meier at the National Family Violence Law Center at George Washington University backs this up. Her 2019 study shows that there is tremendous bias against mothers in family courts when fathers allege parental alienation. Basically, when a father alleges PA, family courts should recognize this as a huge red flag. It is usually a tactic to deflect attention from the abuse and harm he has caused.
Any parent that thinks these reunification camps or therapy is a way to heal their relationship with their child already demonstrates that they don't have their child's best interest in mind. The trauma of being separated from your preferred parent for years on end to go live with a parent you don't feel safe around...why would any loving parent subject their child to that?

@@HeatherDurga you sound like a lunatic of a feminist, I would argue mothers are more protected than the last 64 sea turtles, its even proven women are the main instigators as they are the residential parent. the point is the parent "IS SAFE" . you just dont get it

@@HeatherDurga It's clear you do not even have a basic understanding of parental alienation. A cluster B personality disordered parent teaches their children to hate and fear their other loving parent. This is severe psychological abuse. They use their own children as weapons to destroy the bond with their other parent. There is nothing loving about carrying out this hate campaign. The trauma is created by the alienating parent and the parent the children need to be protected from! Take the time to read the stories of adult child survivors of alienation. They reveal how devastating it is to realize they were manipulated by their pathological parent into rejecting their other parent. It affects every aspect of their lives, and their consequences are dire and lifelong.
