Thank you to everyone who suggested this game!
Let me know if you'd like me to play this game again to find all the secrets, or if you'd like me to play something else. Your suggestions are most helpful :)
Hope you're having a good one~
love you man
Hope you are too :)
If you want all the spoilers there's a video of someone exploring outside the boundaries. ruclips.net/video/_LWX-z8fjhw/видео.html
Nice content as always, Batesee.
I do have a suggestion Mr dude sir. I would recommend the puppet combo games and you would either enjoy them or the **rum**
But on the other note I love your videos and do not stop the great work!
This game is a goddamn gem.
funny if you made a madness combat short on that lmao
Its always when you least suspect it, a animator shows up
I didn't expect you here
Ya mean more of a pearl badm ts
I couldn't agree more. The devs should be very proud of themselves.
Thanks for stopping by! :D
The one person I wanted to see play this game. And he's finally doing it. This'll be a fun watch.
I hope you like it!
Greatly did so.
bro same i was waiting for this video it’s like right up his alley
I know it's been a while, but I still cannot get over the fact that you're finally back! I've missed you and your brilliant videos so much! I love it when you play little obscure games like this. You convinced me to get Madness Project Nexus with your videos and I love all the other vids you put out. Much much love from the UK :)
Wow, that means a lot! I love games like this and MPN, so to hear that I encouraged someone to grab the game for themselves is really great news :D Thank you so much for your comment. I hope you like this vid!
Cheers from Australia 🍻
Dont think this game is obscure anymore...
Greetings from somewhere in asia, location: not disclosed.
I know! It's like father, finally coming back from getting milk.
@@TheBatesee Hey, if you really enjoy games such like this you should really checkout Yames, they are a game developer with some really amazing game designs. I've never had such feelings of uneasiness when just watching a game. I suggest playing "Water Womb World" or "Discover my body"
I agree with you. Richman 885, it felt like that.
I love how in the beginning every time he went to go check the camera he would get so excited and say “where are we now” like a little kid it’s oddly cute 😂
That jumpscare was one of the few ones I am okay with. This game was great, 45 minutes of atomsphere and world building all to culminate in a horrifying jumpscare of a big... something
I looked at it frame by frame and I think its a big creepy green fish. Absolutely terrifying.
A big J.peg

the way he turns is comedy gold
For those wondering about the story about the sub with the cracked window, here's a rundown:
In 1960 Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh made the (possibly former now) world record for the deepest depth at 10,911 meters / 35,797 feet / 6.77978108 miles in the Challenger Deep.
It took them 5 hours to descend the ocean in their sub before (you guessed it) the window cracked and they started to resurface.
Dont they still hold the record of deepest dive
Someone did another one decades later but was a few metres above their level
@@dkskcjfjswwwwwws413 Yes, it was in 2012 by a guy named James Cameron.
He was about 18 meters away the record
@@fathermc249 james is the director of the titanic movie
@@randomtexanguy9563 Yep, it was him.
Batesee's sailor ancestors must be so disappointed in him for mistaking "Angle" for "Altitude" whilst on a submarine xD
(if B8_C is reading this... Sorry, no harsh feelings... it was supposed to be a joke)
Jokes aside, I'd love to explore in future vids what secrets this games has in store (^_^)
ive always had a fear of an open ocean full of creatures, this game looks amazing
Very **very** delicious creatures
@@Amaryllistrololo i like sharks, they taste great
it's also made of blood
Iron Lung is such a weird and unique game. I watched a break down of the games systems and mechanics, and it all works together so seamlessly to create this fantastic ambience of dread. A truly unique one of a kind indie game.
Can you link the vid you watched? I'm very curious as to how the mechanics work from a developer persective too.

Thank you ♡
@@TheBatesee Thank *you*
For being absolutely amazing
22:34 That face on the right side of the photo sent chills through me
Glad I wasnt the only one that saw it
That's not your imagination, that's actually the face of the creature that gets you in the end. If you take another photo in the same spot the face is gone
I find this game fascinating, my only complaint about it that theres not enough of it, we need more games that explore deep oceans. Thalassophobia be damned I wanna go exploring the abyss and find all the wacky stuff there
There's actually a decent bit of secrets in the game. Lotsa stuff to find
100% agreed. Ocean horror in general, be it surface level or deep below, is a concept that hasn't been explored enough. It doesn't help that one of the biggest games about it, Barotrauma, requires some nonsense called "basic communication skills"
Barotrauma is a good game kind of slmilar to it even to the concept of being on an alternate planet on a submarine
@@TheBananaBox i usually play singleplayer campaign its still quite fun even though you're surrounded by bots/extensions of yourself
“Doesn’t look like much, let’s go forward”
best words before death
My Theory for this moon is that it was once a blooming society, but the thing on the far west of the map broke and started cloning everyone into their current positions, which tore them apart resulting in the ocean of blood. its also possible it teleported most of the living things in the universe to the moon but Who Knows.
I feel like it has something to do with the sudden disappearance of life at least. Raises even more questions though like why just blood, where are the human remains like bones? What's up with these huge fish monsters that swim in the blood? What about the stars that vanished. This game set up such a fascinating premise.
The Quiet Rapture is such a cool idea for a story. So many questions to be answered. Why did all habitable planets and stars to vanish? Was it random or caused? Where did they go? How are people still surviving? Why is there an ocean of blood? Why are there buildings down there? There is so much to build upon. I hope David continues with this premise
@@cliffstone123 maybe they had tanks holding these creaturs but it doesnt explain why they can survive in blood.
And the worse part, is that its a actually possible thing that can happen, as at any moment the universe can stop existing without explanation.
@@realdragao6367 true. . . hey why is it getting darker??
Loved this game, fantastic atmosphere and concept. Made by David Szymanski, the same guy who made the quake-like Dusk.

Beat me to the punch on Dusk. God, I’m gonna shill and simp for New Blood until the day I die.
41:00 is the best bit by far, love seeing people's reactions to that.
Bruh it’s like he barely noticed the monster at 22:34
@@KoDi82 Omg he didn't notice and neither did I
This is very unique game, hope the dev got more sweet ideas like this one.
This game, while it is rather short, was beautifully done.
You're left "alone" in an ocean of blood, no context as to why and how, the pictures you have to take are always creepy even when its just bones, you are always asking yourself questions whether you are taking the pictures or simply travelling, it's made that way so that even during something as monotone as moving from point A to B, you are always concerned about things.
"What is that sound ? What am I going to find ?" Etc. and the fact that you never really get a proper answer is good, the fear of the unknown is the best tool to use in a game to scare a player in my opinion, it always has been.
Not to mention the soundtrack that really helps to capture the atmosphere of hopelessness and doing something you dont want to but you have no choice, it's really, really well done.
Im so happy to see you playing this game :D
I love the ending. Pretty original because you would think to take a picture, than maybe die from the monster or even maybe drown or lose oxygen. But no he just breaches the fucking wall and you have a split second to see what happens. However if you put the playback speed at .25x, you can see the thing actually gets in your submarine instead of you being crushed from the water pressure.
TheBatsee sees a building in a blood sea "just a square thingy"
This game is a master class in how to build tension and suspense. Incredible game
I expected there to be a jumpscare at the end BUT I WAS NOT PREPARED, that got me good. A fascinating game.
“We made it with an intact sub. :)”
**Fire rages on behind him**
0:25 I love that tiny sub....cute
My fiance played this game and I remember him just screaming and jumping at everything. It's amazing to see you try it dude! I hope you liked it the idea of it is really neat. :)
I love how everyone's first experience is seeing the dot beeping on the radar, being like "huh what's this" and crashing right into the wall
11:11 This is not an expedition. it is an execution. When they put you in here, they don’t want you to return. And even if you do, and even if they keep their promises… what freedom waits for you? A few dying ships in a sea of dead stars?
If there is still hope, it lies beyond the veil. (Metaphor for death.) Hope in this void is illusory as starlight. I will choose to breathe my last here at the bottom of an ocean, unseen, unheard, and uncontrolled
They will get their execution.
I will get my freedom.
Ah. This game THIS GAME. Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere and the set up for the ending is perfect.
Agreed... I don't think I've ever played a game quite like it.
The devs ought to be very proud of themselves!
This is what the horror game should be. In most every game, you see the danger and try to avoid it, it scares you by the "jumpscares", creepy look and etc. But the Iron Lung pushes your mind and imagination to do scary stuff. And that's the point. You don't see the danger, you can hear stuff outside the sub, but you can't see how it looks and your mind tries to fix that. Instead presenting the enemy and basically saying "Avoid that at any cost", here you don't know. You don't know what each sound means and why it's there. Is it tip for the incoming danger? Or something outside? Or it's just playing to scare me? Mostly all. But you can't be sure.
i LOVED seeing you navigate your way through the ocean. the moment you photographed the eye i felt that jumpscare with you 100%.
I been a sudden spike in popularity for this game. I mean it's appreciative to see a developer's work being share by many.
This game is a perfect example of proper cosmic horror.
It doesn't explain stuff, it's just there. Why did the "Silent Rapture" happen? Why is there an ocean of blood? Why are there seemingly artificial structures in said ocean of blood and why are there creatures lurking beneath?
Lot's of questions, zero answers. Visceral terror of the unknown.
We need more of this good stuff. The cosmic horror that doesn't just boil down to "oOoOh scary space squids/aliens that induce madness" and other Lovecraftian influences.
Ahh yes, the metallic coffin in the middle of a bloody moon
I was thinking "Good, Bateesee will enjoy this"
I'm still glad you're back buddy ( ^-^)
Honestly I avoided this game because I read a short description of it and knew I would love it, and didn't want to see any spoilers. Now that I just finished the game (two months later) I can finally watch and enjoy this video
the way you turn around at the fire is just comically perfect, amazing gameplay, keep it up man, we need more games that focus on atmosphere
im glad this game got the attention it did. Very deserved for a unique and interesting experience.
I've held off from watching anything related to this game, and having only (currently) seen 8 minutes worth of gameplay, this is actually really cool (with a hint of fear aspect and cinnamon).
I can only imagine the fear of people with claustrophobia being somewhere like this.

⁀⊙﹏☉⁀ "Better be nobody. There'll be trouble..."
22:38 I like how he just didn't notice the fishes face in the top right lol.
I really like this game! I like the concept of a blood ocean on a moon. I wish it had more gameplay but I enjoyed it.
It’s nice to see a return to that style of video I used to love as a young kid.
YOU ARE THE ONE PERSON I NEEDED TO PLAY THIS.
Spoiler for the last part of the game
.
.
.
.
Funny thing about that jumpscare at the last part is that it's just a pop up picture lmao, like the ones they use on GMOD horror maps.
Pretty clever use of it though, using it at the last minute with the tension built up to the max, and immediately cutting to credit so you don't realize what it is.
I love games like these. They know what makes things scary in horror is the tension, not the monster itself, but the feeling of dread of not knowing what is that thing, what it does, or if it's hostile. Definitely gonna try it out myself.
I was hoping you'd play this, seems right up your alley. Absolute banger of a horror game, and a banger vid to boot.
For some reason I never unsubscribed from the channel and then today I saw this in my recommended. Had no idea you came back but this is awesome.
As an aspiring pilot, this game activates my monkey brain neurons. This game would give me a reason to use my orienteering skills and justify the months of schooling acquiring said skills.
That intro is short and simple, and I love it
Might be weird but I’m tearing up from the fact that you’re back like actually I am so happy
This is genuinely one of the most terrifying games i've ever seen.
Glad to see you play such a, in my opinion, unique horror game!
This kind of stuff terrifies me, and I'm happy to see my favorite content creator making a video on it
The idea that you have no idea of what is happening outside the sub without your horrible camera is super scary. The sounds you can hear are definetely not helping either...
22:32 Oh that is a nasty looking fish on the right.
Oooooh, nice eye reaction near the end there.
Completely unfazed by the MASSIVE FISH staring at you at 22:32

haven't gotten far but i just can't get over the fact at at the start you hear Batesee reading really fast and when the "click to continue" showed up you can hear him slowing down XD. i find it so funny
I can’t wait to see ur gameplay hope you have a great day!
I’m so glad that you decided to pick it up! Super excited to watch this entire video! Thank you Batesee!

Aww hell yeah, Iron Lung! Awesome to see you playing this!
Not going to lie, I was recommended to watch some of your vids and I kept on putting it off for a while. Finally started to watch your content and oh boy, I kicked myself for putting it off for so long. Glad I finally gave it a shot. Amazing content, and I hope you grow with time and support. Cheers.

Very glad you played this, was sort of hoping you would play it and glad to see you enjoyed it.
I was NOT expecting you to play this, but boy am I glad to see it! Great video!
Really didn't expect you to play Iron lung, but this sure is a welcome surprise upload especially with a really cool indie game about being in a metal submarine in an ocean of blood. Keep up the uploads and gameplay!
Love you man, glad to see you back in such high spirits. I'm happy you got out of that place you were in and now you're back in your fullest form. And especially now that there are so many more horror games out now. You're gonna love it.
batesees returning and playing iron lung is like a wet dream and a comfort dream at the same time.
It's like when I dreamt of laying naked over my naked wife as she hummed me to sleep.
I do not have a wife so yea, waking up from that dream was very sad.
I remember one of the first of your videos I saw was your Containment Breach with rum episode. I remember laughing my head off. Still really happy you're back. Keep up the amazing work!
what a cool and scary video, I winced at the moment with the big eye on the screen

Brilliant experience, wonderful little game, I’m so surprised it’s blowing up and catching on with big and small tubers alike. People say to death how glad they are “B8c’s back guys”, but to me it’s like you never left :)
can't believe he's back, wow. this channel is what made me started on watching this kind of videos. just sharing my thoughts.
Masterful work again lad
You should check out Presentable Liberty, pretty similar feeling to Iron Lung, both involve being confined in a small cramped room that progressively gets messier and more ruined as the game progresses. Really good experience
