      @AWIERD1 2 года назад

      @@jpate89 Typically professionals use Rayon pads on a rotary buffer to polish glass. Your rayon glass polishing pads are usually very thin because you apply moderate pressure using a cerium oxide based polish. If using a rotary it's important to stop often and check temperature and spirits with water if starting to dry or heat up too much. DA buffers work too but they are much slower yet heat buildup is almost a none issue compared to a rotary buffer. If you have too much heat in a localized area the temperature differential can cause the glass to crack.

    Besides this product, people suggested lemon (didn't work), and Barkeeper's Friend (didn't have) so I tried what I had on the shelf - Chrome Polish. It occurred to me that Chrome Polish would have to be super mild and non abrasive cleaner to clean chrome without scratching it so I tried it. It worked great with 0000 Steel wool. A friend said a window cleaner recommends 000 wool. I did have to scrub a lot with 0000 to get window clean so I suppose that might be worth a try, but test it first on an inconspicuous spot to make sure it doesn't scratch. Regardless, I think the actual cleaner you use is less important than the process.

      A car dealer ship would tell you to go someplace else... Or probably suggest you go back to the very same glass place in the first place. in saying that, if you pay for insurance or any type of glass cover on your car lol... You're not paying for the new window, your insurance is and it's suppose to be that way. That's why we have insurance. So you don't have to winge cry and moan till the cows come home about how some glass place told you they want 400 dollars for your new window because it's got Acid rain and the best way for them to deal with it is to replace it. I mean it makes sense?? you go to a car dealership and you imagine they somehow end up talking you into selling that car and buying a brand new one. I mean, If you walk into a petstore were they sell.. Pets.... and you ask them to fix your carpets because the dog you just bought shit on the carpet.... What do you expect them to tell you? Lmao seriously i mean do you guys not have insurance or something? why is getting a window replaced due to acid rain a problem? Acid rain happens 24/7 in Japan and there is ALOT of lovely rare cars that just sit in car yards for years and years till the auctions happen what do you think they do? lol. They just get the glass replaced.... Way easier to deal with. Why is getting the glass replaced an issue? and don't say you haven't got or can't afford it because that's honestly no real excuse. That just means you're liable 100% to any damages, Fair enough though right????
      Maybe next time park your car in a big GARAGE or something that's got cover from the weather lol. Wait till you get a rust issue. Then you'll understand it's basically YOUR fault that happend in some ways. Insurance doesn't cover rust because you live next to a beach for example, depends who you're with and what you're covered for though.

    I hate to say it my friend, but it wasn't the chemical, it was the steel wool. I had the same acid rain stains on all my windows. Tried a few different things (toothpaste, lemon, barkeepers friend), nothing worked because I was applying all of them with a rag. After reading some of the comments on here, I grabbed my box of Brillo pads, added a little Barkeepers Friend (not sure it was necessary, but I had it already so what the hell), and viola! A little elbow grease and all the windows look like new again. Each Brillo pad was good for about two windows, and then they would lose their grit or whatever, so I'd just get a new one. Three pads later and I can see clearly now the stains are gone.

At least for me it did , but didn’t come out with a couple wipes , you gotta do light circle wipes around. Ok it's 9/2020 and I just got this online and will be trying it soon. My windshield has a baked in chemical soil from a set of hybrid michelin wipers that nothing I've tried worked to remove it. Clay failed. Vinegar failed. Invisible glass failed. Windex failed. Turtle wax glass cleaner failed. Megeuire failed. I mean all the walmart auto glass cleaning agents failed. I was contemplating windshield replacement. Saw this online and after seeing the video i ordered it and I will do as this author recommends and will post my results after ward. Stay tuned.

      @@KitwiSauce I posted the morning after my results. But in any case this product is legit!!! I got it online and kind of applied it as the author did. Test it on a small area first and then determine if it's right for you. HOWEVER this product is the joint!!! I've tried everything else short of windshield replacement and now my trucks windshield is as clear as crystal. My lesson learned is only buy oem wipers from the dealer. After market wipers made my life miserable for about a month thinking after all remedys failed i'd have to replace my windshield. It was that bad. But GlassWeld, 0000 super fine steel wool and water did the impossible. Good luck and post your experience won't you?

    I scratched my glass with the 000 steel wool. Probably bearing down too hard in a small area.
    A small square of green ScotchBrite and a dab of Bar Keepers Friend did it. I had the worst case of it I’ve seen; parking under trees, or cheap factory glass, who knows. Took 5-6 rounds of scrub/rinse/dry. Checking in between rounds for a smooth surface with a wet hand and wet glass. You can feel the difference when the deposits start disappearing, it’ll get super slick.

      @@ooohlaa13 My mom used to say “you aren’t using enough elbow grease” lol. You have to scrub pretty hard with the Scotch brite pad. I didn’t see much either after only a couple of passes. Yes use that product but not the 4 ot (0000) superfine steel wool. I install glass in houses and offices for the last 10 years so I thought to use the steel wool as the owner of the place I work at said it’s ok to use on automotive glass too. WRONG!!! It leave fine swirl marks in your glass that one when the sun glares through it you’ll see but it go away when the glass get wet. Use a old wash cloth or paper towels if you want to do that to your vehicles glass. No matter what you use it is going to take a little elbow grease to get it clean anyway so do ruin the glass in the process of trying to clean it
