  • Here I tie a variant of the executioner, a very popular salmon and seatrout fly, especially in smaller sizes for low water fishing. Many folks also use this for dollaghan trout within the Lough Neagh system.
Tied in small sizes, this would be one of my go to patterns for low water grilse fishing.

Great little fly... that red butt really stands out as a target point against the black and silver... Another fly I need to tie! 🙄🤣👍

Nice fly and nice tying. Would you prefer it more in clear order murky water?

Thanks for watching Philip, I always prefer these small hairwings on crystal clear low water. That said, many folks will upscale them and fish even on dropping spates
