You are an incredible teacher and I enjoy the detail with both the wiring as well as the sheet rocking. I usually only go to the 2nd coat of sparkle. But I can see where the 3rd and possibly the 4th really make the finish smooth and exacting. We did have to laugh when you fast forward the film...and said to ourselves...we need to have some of your coffee!! Thank you so much for your website!!
Hi Rich, Thanks a lot for watching! We first figured out a "logical" placement for the lights. After installing we noticed that we didn't have proper "task lighting" for the sink and pantry. So we moved them to get better lighting for the pantry and sink - I think it's all up to personal preference. Hope this helps!
What was the reason for moving the lights? The lighting pattern? Aesthetics? Would love to not make the same mistake and put them in the "right" place the first time. Also, it sure would be nice to see a shot or two of the finished product, if possible. Looking to do this replacement myself. Thanks for the videos!
Excellent info! I have that same lighting - ugly fluorescent lighting but no way can I do those recessed lights. However, the people who built it, let a thick, ugly edging, so I at least know now, what I’ll have to do to fix that (a lot of sanding). I wish we could see the finished product though.....
I Have access from the top so I will be dry walling flush instead of leaving the old hole../much less work....seems to me you need 2 more lights in the middle to get proper spacing for the lighting...this will be my this doing this so the tips were great....The other thing with having access from the top is you can cut the holes out after you do the dry wall so you have to measure so much...jsut a thought! thanks !!
Yes - sorry getting back to you late - the next video which I need to edit will show you to paint the ceiling with flat white and the crown molding and walls with I think a satin white

Wow. Awesome. Thanks for sharing this wonderful mini-series. And thanks for limiting the dialog and focusing on the footage. Excellent demonstration!
Excellent part 2 to continue with this wonderful lesson example. Thanks again.

very helpful videos, thanks for your time and resources to make this happen.
Thank you from a novice
The fast-forward noises are soothing
Thank you for your input. You are 100% correct. I did put a access panel in that corner - I still have to shoot the update!
Access panel would look terrible.
nice job. Only problem I see is that the junction box is not accessible (required by NEC) once you replace the sheetrock.
Thanks for the videos you are very professional how much do you charge for doing this job? I need to do it in my kitchen thank you sir
Loved the video, very interesting, thanks!

Wouldn’t it be easier to replace the whole sheet instead of patching it?
Great videos. Thanks!
Great job. Really like the tips on sanding the ceilings. Can you please list the brand of compound you used.

Thats pretty messed up that you don't have step 3 so we can see how it turns out boooooooo
lol...ikr!
I’m a DIY, if you’re going to put crown up why do you worry about tape? Just asking.
I need step 3, I have to do this to my kitchen, but have no clue how to get rid of that ugly space around the lighting.
Ok -I will get on that - ty for watching!
Hi, how much would it cost to have someone do this? I'm in the San Francisco area! If you are ever in the area, can I hire you? (I'm not kidding)
wow. Can I hire you? This is amazing.
Do you paint over the crown molding too? (I’ve never done any of this before).

Good thing the tape is two inches wide.
