these guys aren't going anywhere near as fast as that guy in the 2 wd ford in the speed plowing video where you can hear the engine with a severe knock after he makes the last pass. i guess these guys wanted to "baby" their engines

No, it`s a speed competition and they are all in a higher gear than they should be for ploughing. It makes it very hard for the engines.

It's a sport competition, not normal farming. Engine longevity is not a concern.
