If you want to color an object without taking away its texture map information, don't paint directly on the UV map. Create a layer on top of it, and tap on the little hexagon icon on the layer. You'll see three buttons called Color, Metallic and Roughness. Select Color and start painting. Now whatever you paint will affect only the color of the object and not the texture. As a rule of thumb, avoid painting on the UV maps directly because once you click out of the canvas, there's no way to get back the original textures.

I’m going to pickup an iPad I want an app that can help me make a good template for creating 3d dioramas that way I get a good picture is procreate good for that ?
I’m not too familiar with creating 3D dioramas, procreate is mainly 2d app (flat images) so if you just need ability to draw on layers that can be adjusted this will work great the 3D portion is only for painting 3d models. I have used another iPad app called nomad to sculpt and it has lighting and ability to place models but I have only sculpted in it myself.

Try zoning in an using smaller brushes, also you can try rotating the object to be more head on when painting by quick zoom in and out. If paint an object at an angle it will always be distorted when looking at a different angle.

If it doesn’t work for you (like you don’t have the option to download) I deleted procreate and reinstalled it and it worked for me

What iPad are you using also check to make sure your storage has room in it when my iPad gets close to full it freezes
