Well actually, if you want to get technical, the system is designed to be used with molly sticks which are designed to weave in and out the loops, and they are even easier to work with since they are stiffer than straps. “Molly Sticks”, check those out.

Nice! I have a backpack with the MOLLE webbing, & never knew how to use it. Not sure if your pouch will carry a full one quart can of gas? I use the big box store ethanol free gas in my gas powered engines, when I'm nearing the end of the season. It comes in a double sealed metal can, and would be a handy, and I believe, safe way to carry an extra quart.

That’s why my snap on the strap kept coming loose! I wasn’t weaving it either!

If you use a paint stick or a cake icing knife it makes feeding the molle straps through way easier.
