- The UK, US, France, Italy and Germany have issued a joint statement urging Iran to end its threats of an attack on Israel.
They called on Iran to "stand down its ongoing threats” and “discussed the serious consequences for regional security should such an attack take place”.
Fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East have been growing following the recent assassination of senior Hezbollah and Hamas leaders.

Might see a reduction in some services ... terrestrial local FM stations, say, but cost of BBC might be by voluntary subscription, or, involuntary subscription via general taxation.
That way the BBC becomes a truly national asset and everyone pays whether they want to or not.
Not everyone listens to World Service but they pay anyway.
Prior to the World Service costs coming out of the Licence Fee the cost was met by a "Commonwealth and Treasury" grant which in turn came out of general taxation.
Nobody likes to pay VAT but they have no choice sort of thing.
One thing is certain "everyone" will pay the cost of running the BBC somehow.
Allowing people to opt in or out of paying the TV licence is not too useful for long term financial planning.

The obvious delay in retaliation is clearly because iran and the US have been chatting about the level of strike, just as they did last time. The reason for a carrier being moved into the area is because the last one pushed the iron dome to its limits and required outside help from US & UK airforce.
