    Sorry .. I forgot to mention the pickups. I don't know what kind they are but they are fantastic. I have worked with sound products for over 70 years and on this Gretsch there is a medium present especially the high strings. It almost sounds like an automatic compression of the final sound before it is sent to the amplifier. Even above the 12th fret when playing upper jazz licks, it gives you the feeling that the notes are of equal volume with normal playing venues. I just cannot say enough good about this guitar. I am 81 years old and started practicing 4 hours a day since I received this beauty. Maybe I will become good guitar player again.

    I just received the anniversary model Gretsch from Japan and I cannot tell you how satisfied I am with this guitar. It is much better than my original (I still have it) Gretsch from 1960. I especially like the fretwork. It is soooo smooth to move your fingers around the neck. I marvel at the workmanship of this guitar. It is the exact replica of my vintage guitar. I had to wait several months for this guitar but it was definitely worth it. The Japanese are a very special people with great work ethics and certainly improve everything they touch. I am 110 percent satisfied. May the Gretsch Guitar live on!

    I'm a GRETSCH player, a G5237 & I love it. Love this video. Thought I'd point out to any perspective GRETSCH buyer there are two models of pickups that they put in the JET & DOUBLE CUT JET, typically. Those are the Broadtron & the Filtertron. The Broadtron is the "more PAF sounding" Filteron pickup, so to speak. The Filtertron is the classic GRETSCH sound; both are typical in the Electromatic range. When you look at those guitars on the GRETSCH website look for the BT or FT designation & that will tell you what pickup is in the gtr. Don't assume w/GRETSCH: go to their website!

    Appears Gretsch have stuffed up again with these new models. All the models without bigsby have Black Top Broad’Tron™ pickups. Buyers beware these are standard low output humbuckers. They are NOT filtertrons. So the guitars will sound very good... but not like a Gretsch, and not like Malcolms. The only new model that has Blacktop Filtertron pups is the one with a B50 bigsby type that never works well. It has a tension bar and no full tailpeice - avoid both :)

    • @varanzmaj
      @varanzmaj Год назад

      For the price of these great guitars, Ill just buy the fixed bridge one and order an original TV Jones bridge pickup for 100 bucks from the states. Better than a Filtertron, and it actaully goes into Malcolm's signature guitar.
