Meet Delonix Tan, a former delinquent who transformed his life through his family’s fishball business, San Dai Fishball. From waking up at midnight just to prepare for his Sunday morning duties, this 26-year old third generation hawker works throughout the night while most people are still asleep.
It’s a far cry from his life he used to live, but he’s determined and filled with passion to keep the Sandai Fishball legacy alive.

You nail it, Delonix. Here is a young guy who is smart enough to know very well his comparative advantage and takes the less trodden path. I see hopes for young Singaporeans and don't look down on gangs or chow ah beng out there, they could be our very own untapped talent pool because they are garang and possess the guts to be great entrepreneurs and more importantly, many of them are street smart, educated and well spoken too. They just need a chance !

Im not a certified fishball expert, but as someone who eats yongtaufoo 3-4 times a week, the quality of his food is really good. The story and his age aside, the food does speak for itself

His next step is to find the right kind of wife who will be a 100%supportive of him, because he rightly identified that he needs younger family members when his dad’s generation retire. That business brain of his also means expansion in the future. Supportive because he has strong leadership qualities, and you can’t have 2 leaders in a marriage.

🙏Thank you, 💐Miss Tian Chiak for letting us know there's a stall which still makes fishballs with 100% fish meat🐟. I'll go there to buy a lot for myself and my neighbours👨👩👧👦👨👩👧👦. It's hard to find real fishballs nowadays as most are 90% flour* and only 10% fish meat.
