I think this game is targeted to those who didnt have the oportunity to play the first release, like me, so i'll buy it.
And those who loved it, I platinumed it so I'll go ahead and do it again 😁
Might start lost oddysey up again on x
Yeah this is essentially a port
no! it was a test to see with the second game if there's enough reason to remaster it. And yes Ni No Kuni 2 did well and so why not ride on that succes by remastering the first game? This is all about business dear. Do you really believe they could give any ass to people who haven't played it? Instead keeping that in the shelves putting it back on sales with touched up version and voila more money to gain. Don't be a simpleton people! Only for a few people who haven't played it they won't release it! It's about money. WAKE UP
Alucard8319 STFU!
When breakfast takes 20 minutes to make and 5 seconds to eat lol
It does seem crisper and brighter. Tidy!
The visual upgrade might not be enough for a double dip, but with the wider range of platforms so many people will be able to finally play this game. I love the Studio Ghibli movies and wanted to play this since its first Ps3 release. It'll be worth the wait, I hope.
i just found out about the Ni No Kuni series and i bought both titles yesterday on a steam sail for around 30 dollars . i have bean playing the game im about an hour or 2 into it and so far i love the game. i don't think iv played anything quit like it before.
@@supersaiyaman11589 bro what is your spelling?
Small correction - the first release of Ni no Kuni was NnK: The Jet-Black Mage on the Nintendo DS. That's the original.
The PS3 version was a remake of sorts with extra content. The White Witch did not show up in the DS original.
Its brighter in PS4 & switch, but the PS3 one more realistic & the tone is soft , like watching every Gibhli movie
I prefer the ps3 version
@@thefebo8987 ps4 is much better in every way.. I have both version but the ps4 pro is better because of the very high texture quality and stable 60fps experience
you're channel is criminally underrated. It's a matter of time before you get more subscribers. keep doing great work and don't feel discouraged.
Thank you! That means a lot. I’m gonna keep at it!
Wow, this game looked amazing on the ps3 already. Never played it, I finished Ni no kuni 2. Can't wait to play this one on the ps4 😊
Story is the best on first edition but evertyhing else is better on second one, especially the Kingdom concept
@@alhamdulilahgktf either way,it's a must have 😊
@@levybarella4770 of course. I Just bought it. Cant wait to feel the nostalgic.
Aaahhhh!!! I can’t wait to replay this beautiful masterpiece! The last time I played it was 5 or 6 years ago! My family switched from the PS3 to PS4, and I was really upset because I couldn’t play my game anymore.
*BUT NOW I CAN WHENEVER I WANT!!* ... Once I get the game! *REJOICE!!*
Faith The Pacifist17 it’s a shame they didn’t include any backwards compatibility this gen. I’m glad ps5 will be able to play ps4 games at least
Alan YaKnow True that
Especially since PS5 is already confirmed to play all of PS4's library so you will be able to carry over this remaster to that as well!
@@alistair4909 It's a blessing, we got a lot of really great remasters of PS3 games because of the lack of backwards compatibility, those games will only improve on PS5 with patches. If we had BWC on PS4 then all those games would still be PS3 quality so not only would they not carry over to PS5 but they would not have the improvements the remasters brought to PS4.
*I'm an optimist.
Actually the foggy version of ps3,add to the anime art and atmosphere of the game
Even though the textures are sharper, it lost a bit of that hand painted look because they applied an upscale filter to it. This is very noticeable on the stone at 1:45
Wow it really does look cleaner. Although in my mind it's always looked like the PS4 version haha.
and don't forget ps4 is faster as well. you all people are focused only on that. but stronger hardware does also have less load times. To me it's a very big deal. Thank God they will do it right with the PS5 with SSD included. No more long wait!
Alucard8319 I almost couldn’t believe it when spider man loaded instantly. If that’s really what it’s gonna be like that’s a big quality of life improvement. I usually wait a year or two to get the new hardware but I may break that rule this generation
@@alistair4909 did you get it?
I'm getting the switch and ps4 version , I cherish this game
Greedy
paul slade maybe he only has time to play it on the go right now but also wants to experience it with the ps4 enhancements at some point in the near future. It’s also possible that he’s not sure if the improvements in the ps4 version will feel right to him compared to the switch which is a straight port of the game. Maybe he just wants to show his support for a game he loves and he’s getting one of the versions for a family member or a close friend. One way or another he probably has a good reason
@@alistair4909 yeah greedy
Chill dude It was a joke
@@sladey21 I don't think you know what a joke is
I still have this for my PS3. Was thinking if there was more story to it that I'd buy it. But since it's the same besides the upscaling, I think I will just continue to enjoy it on the PS3.
This game was already so beautiful on PS3, buying it again on ps4 would have only made sense if they made efforts to add extra content, like they did for DQ8 port on 3ds or DQ11 port on switch.
you are right however if you have never bought the game before now is the perfect time to buy it. i have it on pc and i love it.
Currently on Ps3 is £5 while on Ps4 is £20. In my opinion for those that own both console is to go for the 1st on Ps3 and then play Nino kuni 2 on Ps4 like it was meant to be.
Is it weird that one of my favorite parts of this remaster is the improved font?
Looks better, really.
Just beat this on the ps3. Was a great game. Can't believe I had the game just sitting on my shelf for years and didn't play it. Now I want it handheld on the switch.
same here! i’ve had it downloaded on my ps3 for years and only just started playing it now, absolutely loving it
I'm playing through it on ps3 what a charming game. Reminds me of a more child friendly version of the witcher.
The game was gorgeous the first time, now it’s essentially been perfected.
Hope the remastering sale will Lead to creating Ni no Kuni 3 😱
As much as I loved the style and story of NnK2, If they do make a third game I really hope all of Studio Ghibli returns for that so it's more in-line visually and musically with the first NnK.
Yeah I also feel like the first got more Studio Ghibli touch, Story and Music. For the gameplay, I think they are following what hero portrays and is good in their own right. Though, If there will be a 3rd one, probably will be a new story and gameplay mechanic but same similar world and reality meets fantasy theme.
@@rld14344 Dude, the first one was directly overseen by Studio Ghibli, the sequel only had a few members from the Studio. That's the only reason the second doesn't feel as much like a SG film. No other reason. I'll buy a third either way but I'd rather have all of SG back.
I know this is 3 months later but apparently they have said they are working on a new one :)
I'm gonna re-played this again the fourth time !!!!
I played this on the PS3 and playing it again on the Pro brings back the joy I had the first time around! I have it on the 4k setting and it looks beautiful! Hope people who haven't played this pick it up, because it is such a great game. Hope everyone is enjoying it!
Thank you so much. The game had a gorgeous art style back on PS3 but looks even more crisp on PS4. I'm getting it friday for the launch model PS4.
Or you can play it anywhere with the original graphic. In this case, you do win something with better hardware, but not a lot lol.
This is so much better than the second game.
Everything that made this good was gone in ni no kuni 2.
Couldn't agree more.
The second game was super short, and in my eyes the story wasn't that heart warming as the original
1st game is magical. Even though ni no kuni 2 has magical creatures but it doesn't capture the same magic that first one has. Well that's what you get when you put a team aside and trying to copy. The soul of ghibili isn't in 2nd. We all felt it. Well let that be a lesson to those dipshits. They thoughts if we make an other one without ghibli we won't have to spend money on them
i prefer Ni No kuni 2 but the story NNK1 is better and touching.
The second game was super fun and had a great story, don't down play it just because your personal opinion was that you don't like it. Sure, it only had a few members from Ghibli working on it unlike the whole studio for this one but it was still an awesome game. I do like the evolved realtime battle mechanics in NNK2 also. This one is way more true to a Studio Ghibli film, which in turn is way more immersive for Ghibli fans but the sequel contains a huge amount of what made this one good.
Looks cleaner as a remaster should. Added extra effects and foliage. Textures are more polished. No complaints here. On PS3 it looked good for the time.
Cell of ps3 was an amazing engine...both versions are killers!!!😁
I think the lower framerate on PS3 gives it a more cinematic feel.
Thats because most films are shot in 24 frames a second. The ps3 was running this game around 30 fps compared to the ps4 pro running at 60 fps
It looks and runs better, but they could have improved the shadows more. They should have offered ps3 digital owners an upgrade offer.
Seriously! I woulda upgraded
This came out on Xbox like not long ago, and I just started playing it, and so far it's fun, and I'm just here watching how much the graphics have changed, and while it's not a big difference, you can at times see how there is less pixelation on the characters and the floor, and the corners look a big sharper as well, definitely a good upgrade for the type of game it is
expensive on xbox this game. In Playstation on sales far cheaper
@@AndrisLelisTravelChanel Kool I guess👍🏿
The see the difference of the remastered!!
It got brighter...
Hardly any major diff
3:42 " TIDY "
1:22 in ps3 version, His door is closed. as in the ps4, it's open.
Revolution
Game changer! Must buy.
Have fun playing the game with Drippy telling you what needs to be done all the time, drilling tutorials in your head till the end of the game and jumping in every single boss fight to tell you their weaknesses.
Sounds like you didn't enjoy the game.
Okay?
The PS3 version doesn't look like that on the Switch. It's very clean n crisp on the Switch. I'm 7 hours in and This'll be my 5th time playing it. This game is god tier
😂
Can't believe it didn't get hdr treatment
Wow, some people just like things that are buzzwords to be included without them having any viable need. HDR was fucking pointless on Ni No Kuni 2 because it's a game made to look like a playable anime. Why the hell would we need HDR for this? Seriously, HDR on a cartoon is completely fucking pointless.
That moment I remember the game, after 8 years, and realize that Oliver looks like me lmao
My goodness, the increased rendering resolution, texture resolution, and 60 fps do an amazing job breathing new life into this game. It's a shame they didn't fix the clunky combat controls or the absolutely awful partner AI.
RicochetForce yeah the AI is just as terrible as it was before. Frankly it feels almost ridiculously impossible in the early game until a certain point where the familiars get more skills and are generally beefier. Hardest boss in the main story is probably the first one we fight with our first AI partner.
@@TheTanFamilyAccount That is easily the hardest boss for that reason alone. I was having fucking Persona 3 dumbass AI teammate flashbacks with that one.
A great RPG for the last gen, just like Xenoblade 1 and Lost Odyssey.
Lost Odyssey is so underrated, I love that game
Gabriel Salvatore truth...sadly!!!😑
To me Lost Odyssey is a joke. Limited level up @ each chapter is a joke. It's not a true RPG game. It's like Chrono Cross on PSX with same level cap in each chapter. What's the point having limited level up? Let the person who plays it decides themself if they want a challenge or not by not leveling up as much. At least it's a choice. They put the cap and you don't have a choice. I sold that game right away! They don't deserve my money nor the title RPG. It should've been a novel/adventure game with SLIGHT rpg settings
D. Bouts I’ve been debating between an Xbox and ps3 to get into some last gen games since outside of the wii I skipped that generation. Games like Prey, Lost Oddysy, and Nuts and Bolts look really neat to me on 360 but I really like the look of that top loading ps3 and it can play ps1 games which is nice
@@alistair4909 Interesting choices. I personally enjoyed Brutal Legend, Dantes Inferno and Saints Row. As for rpgs, I completed Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, Ff 13 and 2. I don't think any of those are available on wii or subsequent Nin consoles.
Simple but great upgrade, just like turning up settings on a PC. Not a bad thing, happy this is available to more people and I'll definitely do a full playthrough of it finally!
You can emulate this game for years now.
TheMoonCloud yeah I assumed that because of the PS3 emulator but I'm using PC as an example since obviously this is on the console. Plus I own the game already if that's what you meant
@@frathanielspantry yeah I own it as well, no need to buy the re release.
TheMoonCloud Oh yeah I wasn't planning to unless there's a huge sale since the launch price is pretty high
@@frathanielspantry I agree.
Everything is remaster now instead of simply port
because remasters tend to look better in a lot of peoples opinions and so they get more sails.if given the choice between a port or a remastered version i would usually go with the remastered virsion.
They upgraded the resolution and the graphic. I like this game so much.
Proper tidy this ps4 is. Looks extremely tidy! Can't wait to replay this game again ^w^
I have the regular ps4 not a ps4 pro or a 4k tv just hd. So will I see a difference between ps3 and reg ps4 compared to the ps4 too you are using?
The regular PS4 still runs it at 60fps. So twice the frame rate of the PS3. It will be a lot smoother for sure. But if you still have a PS3 the original holds up quite nicely as well.
Idk if it's just me, but that art style kinda looks better on the PS3... Less crispy works well
Gonna play the ps3 version on my crt tv. Those are the graphics I want.
I haven't played that game so I'll definitely play it now.
What is remaster in this?
A slightly sharper, higher resolution?
I love this game but this is not really remaster
Hahaha it's more like Ni No Kuni: Upscaled 🤣
that's literally what it is, the last of us was the same way they just included the DLC
@@TeysindsGamingSpot yeahhh... Pre ordered it!!
So, no turning back for me!
LoL
it is not remake version if you mean what you want
I didn't get into this game until right before I got a ps4, so I never finished it. It's hard going back to dualshock 3. I'm getting this on Friday.
You can use the dualshock 4 with the ps3.
I feel like they could’ve increased the poly count on the cutscene models pretty easily...
The kind of graphics that will stand the test of time..but praise the 60fps and above. Btw, i'll be playing on pc. Maybe switch later.
Uhhhh this game just hold up too goddamn well. I can't see the difference
Compare the bricks. There's certainly a difference.
When he’s running around and the camera turns dramatically it’s a lot smoother in 60fps on the ps4 version
really? maybe your eye sights aren't good. You can see clearly PS4 has sharper image. That's already a big difference. YOu don't want foggy graphics
I didn't care too much until I saw the Battle Screen and the town free roaming... So much smoother and cleaner.
@@capcom23 as I already commented elsewhere, it amazes me how people think there´s hardly a difference, though maybe some are just watching on a small screen or something. Quite an important issue now actually when deciding between Switch and remaster, and I, for one, am stuck on that decision
Seems like they only bumped the resolution to 4K. If you have the original just emulate it on PC and set the internal resolution to 4k or 8k, what ever you want really.
TheMoonCloud It was literally just released on PC.
@@pugnacious7566 Well, there is no need to buy it if you own the original.
It's a remaster of a game that looks like an anime, upping the resolution and making sure framerates are smooth and stable was all that was needed. As far as emulation, don't confuse people, RPCS3 is still experimental and not all PC's are powerful enough to emulate games in a playable state.
And as said above, it's available on PC without emulation.
@@voided_reality6863 watch the PC and emulated version side by side there's no difference. A lot of PS3 games are already playable to the point that the experience is better on PC.
@@The2808erik Dude, you are so fucking full of shit. RPCS3 and YuZu Emulators are both incredibly demanding on your cpu, if you are running anything less than a current generation Intel or AMD processor with excellent single-core power you ARE NOT going to get the same performance on RPCS3 as you would on a PC version of the same game, most games play better on PS3 still. Just because a handful of games that the developers of RPCS3 favor happen to run decent on good pc rigs doesn't mean the hundreds of other games for that platform do, Cemu has been around for a few years longer than RPCS3 and that still has not perfected performance and graphics on a huge amount of games.
Is it just me or do 30 fps and a lower resolution make it look more like an animation than a 3d game? : )
That's why I'm gonna be playing 4k 30fps on this just like I did on the sequel, it's built to look like an anime so I want to play it in a way that most closely resembles anime for the best experience. If you've ever watched one of the few 60fps anime available currently you'll see that it looks really awkward.
@@andylaw31 That's the 60fps you are seeing. There is no difference other than resolution to the visuals.
Is this a joke? The only thing they did was increase the resolution, which takes 2 seconds.
It just gives it that extra pop to the graphics
You mean resolution, nothing was graphically improved at all in this game. They simply bumped the resolution to full 1080p for Switch and OG PS4 and 4k for PC and PS4 Pro, then they made sure the framerates/performance was stable. The beauty of a game like this is it was meant to look like a playable anime, so it really didn't need any graphics upgrades. Perfect example, why did Ni No Kuni 2 have an HDR option? Cartoons really don't need it.
Jeremy Kaminski not really, but it still looks good, not that it didn’t before. Definitely not worth buying the game again though.
@@heathazegaming8534 That's your choice, I never got to play it all the way through on PS3 so the $50 pricetag is fine for me. As far as your "not really" response, name one graphical option they added to this remaster, there are none. This game simply got a resolution bump and framerate improvements, nothing at all about graphics was enhanced.
Jeremy Kaminski k
Only played the beginning on ps now. Was going to buy the og for my unused ps3 but then they announced the remaster. Just finished the 2nd game and now got this one on sale for only $20 B)
60Fps?! Nice i'd buy
Going to grab this in a few minutes actually. Never got a chance to play this and I loved the second one. I'm going to be using the 4k 30fps option however, this game is a Ghibli designed title as far as art and music, 99% of anime is 30fps and all Ghibli films are 30fps so I feel like this looks ackward at 60fps, anime in general looks "off" at 60fps. It's the one type of video game I will purposely cap framerate on to better receive the true vision imagined for the games.
Honestly it looks better with the blur and more pencil animated, the new one just brings any issues out to fine detail.
Except there are no issues
Because it looks the same I got it for the switch and loving it so far.
Same
How is the Switch version? I have a ps4 too but the portability factor of Switch makes it more appealing to buy for that. Is your game running fine? I loved it on the ps3 so can’t wait to play it again.
Jawad Qaisrani My brother got it for PC, I got it for switch and honestly it runs perfectly I played about 15 hours and I’ve had literally zero issues so far it’s perfect, the pc version just runs smoother (60fps) and the graphics improvement is like eh it seems just brighter so if you wanna get it on the switch to play it everywhere I really recommend you to
5 hours into the switch version and so far it’s a very smooth experience. It looks great dock and handheld. Watching comparison Videos I don’t see the difference besides color. I’m super happy with how this looks and runs and looks on the switch.
MahmoudX Thank you so much. Really appreciate that and since I got my Switch last week so for now playing Breath of the Wild as new to the world of Nintendo but will definitely get it soon and play this beautiful experience once again on Switch.
The frame rate make a huge difference
Should I get it for ps4 or pc??..
@gutzmunder You can also do the same thing with a PC believe it or not.
If only they had upgraded the ground/floor textures..
I actually prefer the look of the PS3 version. It's so sharp on PS4 that it's missing something
I think the difference you're seeing is on the framerate. The original 30fps makes it look more like a cartoon, which matches the overall concept, while the 60fps makes it seem disconnected.
@@IKimdraculaI i persnly love the re mastered version
What is with that new font?
So... it’s brighter?
Its just slightly sharper. More importantly seems to be 60 fps. Praise be to Yevon!
why the ps3 looks better?
Smoother framerates can sometimes take away from more cinematic aesthetics.
Nino kuni 2 is trash compared to This one!
Not really. The main gameplay of this game is absolutely awful and your AI teammates are steaming garbage.
Both are great but the second is so much better
Ps3 version >>
Yeah its upscale on PS4 but it looks a lot less like a hand drawn Ghibli film.
Honestly, looks almost the same. It's just brighter. Still buying though since the ps3 version was still $20 after years of being released and who wants to set up a different console just to play a game every few days? the laziness is real.
Sorry, I wouldn’t rebuy this awesome game for PS4. I have played it on my PS3 and was considering it for my PS4 Pro, but the upgrade is hardly significant.
I'm getting it for Switch, the rpg machine.
Beezus C Hrist Hell Yeah!
Never played it as we only had a wii during the ps3 days but look forward to playing it on ps4 having recently enjoyed its sequel
Remaster? this looks like a port... and I don't say that as a good thing. The graphics are so damn similar, usually remasters make a bit more effort to look better than this does....
Better framerate and resolution, what else a remaster is supposed to be?
finnaly, what i wanted
Does the game include all the exclusive familiars
It does.
@@JRPGCentral thank God. I was annoyed how you have to pay copies of the game from certain stores in the ps3
What else besides resolution and FPS is different?
Nothing else. Also, nice profile pic. 👉
@@JRPGCentral Thanks, yeah, Im a yu yu hakusho fan.
No cutscene comparison?
There's a cutscene comparison 13 seconds into the video.
@@JRPGCentral I meant the fully animated ones. In the PS3 version they look as if they recorded with just the bare minimum of fps which makes them look kinda laggy.
I was wondering if they are the same in the remaster or if they had sourcematerial with a higher framerate they could use to make them smoother for the remaster.
Does this have a Japanese language option availabe? If so how does it sound?
Yes it does have Japanese voiceover, at the title screen you can change the language option.
Sounds Japanese
I already compared them with my 4K tTV they look the same back in 2012 this game came out there was no 4K TV or PS4 the 4K TV makes the games look better

45 euro is a bit harsh. Loved my PS3 version, will defo get this one at a price of 20 - 25 euro, which I'm sure will happen soon enough at the next Big In Japan or Xmas discounts.

@@ruchi__ that's alright, it's one of my favorite games, and I had fun getting the platinum for it, this is the perfect excuse for me to do it again 😁
So many completely oblivious people on here. It is a game that is made too look like anime, there is nothing that was needed aside from performance improvements and resolution bump. As for price, stop fucking crying about it being full price before even looking. The game is $50, that's not full price. It may not be the price everyone wants to pay but it is NOT full price so stfu. Don't buy it if you think it's not worth it.
1440p/60 or 4k/30?
Are you asking which I prefer? If so 1440p @ 60fps all the way.
Now on Xbox Gamepass.
Was this a movie?
It was not. But it was co-produced by Studio Ghibli, who has made a ton of animated films.
JRPG Central thanks for that. I never played the game but maybe have seen the cut scenes as I knew the plot. I will be buying it regardless as it looks really engaging
still 30 fps?
ShiningBOT No, every version on PS4 targets 60fps. PS4 Pro gets 1440p and PS4 gets 1080p.
It's the same game with the same graphic . Why did they call remaster?
Better resolution and framerate, exactly what a remaster is 🙄
it is not remake version if you mean this
@@robcotto7081 pretty sure a remaster does not equal just increasing the brightness and upscalling the graphics, it should also include fixes to the base game like the AI which I heard is still god awfull, this is a games company scrounging for money by slapping the remastered label on it and releasing it on all platforms bcs the exclusive it was is no longer bringing in money sorry but too many people fall for this and that's why the gaming industry is in the story state it is
@@TheNicholasDWolfwood It mostly is about what I previously said still, there weren't much alterations on the 3 PS1 FF remasters, and they didn't need it, just like this game doesn't. And those who complain about AI are nitpicky or simply don't know how to play the game, (I've even seen youtubers play even worse than said AI complaints) I platinumed this game with no complaints at all. My only current complaint about this version is that this game came out Friday and Amazon still hasn't shipped my copy.
yeah
Can you do a Switch vs PS3 vs PS4 comparison?
No reason, Switch is same as PS3
I don’t have access to the Switch version, but it should be in line with the PS3 version.
JRPG Central portability means everything to me so I’ll definitely be picking up the Switch version!
Its slightly sharper. At least I can play it on same console as sequel. I hate when you have to swap systems between games. 😊 Have that fancy book from PS3 still.

Really loved the game back when i played it on PS3, but the graphical differences are not enough for me...

No, but there´s no new content. The art style is beautifull as it is.. So, for me, it´s not enough to buy, since i also finished it on the PS3, so chill...
They fixed the repetitive battle music?
Just graphics
Definitely not paying the asking price 😅 it can wait
