I played this mode exclusively yesterday and had a lot of fun. You were in one of my games PQ. I agree 100% with you. Not only should this mode permanent, I think it should replace Random Battles outright. This is the kind of game mode that almost garante that will bring players that have left the game back...like me for example. Almost forgot to mention, I played for 4 hours last night and got Arms Race only twice. The rest we Escort or Airship Escort, which was really nice!
WG, if you allow for games in this mode to count towards people´s win rates, this game mode will be even a bigger success. You won´t even need Random Battles anymore!
If it was just Escort. The other 2 blow.
Convoy escort is absurdly unbalanced with the team escorting the convoy almost always losing because the convoy ships are simply to frail, and Airship escort while fun for a couple of games, gets old fast. Arms race is fine for the most part because you aren't doing the exact same thing every single game, there is thought that can go into Arms Race.
Like I'm glad people are enjoying the mode, but by the end of the event, people are going to be sick of it. This sort of mode could never fully replace randoms, and should never replace randoms. That would honestly drive more people away from the game than it would bring in.
This isn't like Asymmetric Battles where it's the same idea as co-op but improved, this is an alt branch of randoms with less variety.
@@Stephen__White I don´t know if I agree with you. Randoms got old years ago. It´s always the same but worse. Every year it gets more and more campy. Are you going to tell me that it´s balanced? Blow outs are the norm, not the exception in Randoms also. And when was the last time we got a new map in Randoms?
The only reason people play that mode is because it´s the only one that counts towards their precios win rate.
Yes, we get blow outs in this shuffle mode as well. But the games are more fun since they are more mid to close range fighting.
So is this shuffle mode perfect? No, it isn´t, I give you that. But IMO it´s better than Randoms.
Any good MMO regardless if it's World of Warships or World of Warcraft should also rotate what classes play best, or what play style is best, change the meta. World of Warships is long overdue for a meta change.
Great mode for GK, I usually roll an Ohio/GK/Preussen rotation through this mode... alternate, fun modes like this is what the game needs to keep doing... variety is the spice of life...

if they made this a perma battle type and removed subs/CVs from it, randoms would be dead. this is the format WoWs was based on in the beginning and it was so much more fun to play.
seeing this genuinely might make me come back to the game, haven't played for months and only watched you mostly suffer w the current meta :/

First game, airship escort in Prinz Rupprecht, all green team turned tail when the red ships appeared and left the airship behind. I stayed but got shot to bits by 3 while being torped by two invisible DD's, Kléber ultimately got me. Very frustrating.
yeh, i don't get why there are so many passive players in a war game. i play to fight, not to see if i can live on the losing team. game after game we see one team push up to the islands and use them to block some shot angles from the enemy, and the other team sit back in spawn getting hit from every direction with no where to hide. but players just can't learn.
Im quite close to the preussen on the tech tree so this is perfect timing

7:23 What in the world was those 2 shots what appeared to come from the YY. Maybe ricochets from something else? Seemed very odd though whatever that was and how those 2 shells drop like that.
I haven't played this game ever since the CV RTS rework (long long ago). But if brawling/closer range combat becomes meta again, I may be tempted.

very good mode for personal challenges. No stats, so no need to use signals or good commanders... or even modules

Not only this mode. Asymmetric is far the best game mode. Hope they bring it in permanently

Yeah arms race doesn't feel special. I have never played epicenter because it was so long ago. I would love to give it a try.
What ships are MUCH better brawlers than GK?
Airship escort on Two Brothers with both ships going down the middle in opposite directions

Random needs smaller maps, this is game mode is needed and getting back to the fun old days, as usual subs, no matter the mode, are the fun killing ships.
I can finally use my secondary Shikishima in this mode :)

Game mode looks fun but I'd still rather have asymmetric battles permanently...that way I can still play when there are no people in the que

I dislike that wargaming selling Enterprise skin but you can't buy the Enterprise CV.
They create entire branches in which the gameplay is to throw he hornets while standing behind something.
Ships with poor ballistics can feel bad on open water, and you who don't have smoke or hydro... Get torpedo soup, or die on focus..
Let them give out hydro to everyone like they give out AA to everyone, then it will be a little more fun to play. Because there is more confidence that the destroyer will not jump out and torpedo the whole face with a vanshot.
Aircraft carriers, radars and hydro, at least a little create a frames for ships with total superiority over other classes - destroyers.
Shuffle certainly sounds like fun.... BUT WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE IT tier 8-10? Come on man.... let us have fun at mid tier too....

The DDs seem so small compared to GK and then when the DDs spot each other and fight they're like children fighting while youre the adult letting them settle it amongst themselves

Wargaming only want to make money, and probably don't care on how the game is played, as long as we keep spending. (I have stopped using money on the game, including stopped renewing premium account).
I'm fairly new, and honestly I find myself a lot on the fringes. Mostly because of the way the game is so incredibly p2w. I can't die early until I farmed up some points, cause the grind is terrible and I need all I can get. I will also have wasted all my flags and bonuses I went out with, which are expensive. But hey, I can just not take flags and bonuses and don't do upgrades. Of course then I am also at range disadvantage and all sorts of other disadvantage that pushes me out on the fringes again. And of course without money I can't grind ships that are appropriate for certain game modes or play styles. And for some more insult to injury, practicing brawling when you are new is going to be costly as well cause you will end up dying a lot.
Game really isn't all that pay to win, just misleading on those bonuses. The only signal flag you really should run is anti-det and even then, only really on DDs until you've built up a fair few, even speed flags are only really important in competitive play. If you're properly new to the game, focus on more signal containers for your daily containers for a while, you'll have plenty of all of them before long, Then look into what's actually important to run on your ship
Take for instance the repair flag, it says 20% more healing, sounds great right? Well it's 20% of the base 0.5%/s. Meaning it bumps you up to 0.6% per second. Or in other words it takes your 14% heal and makes it 16.8%. Or another way to put it, if you had 100,000 HP on your ship, it gets you 2,800 extra HP back per heal. By the time you have that much HP that's less than the average DD salvo you'll be taking every 3-4 seconds. A cruiser with only ~50,000 HP gets next to nothing from that signal flag to the point where it's maybe getting you back 2-3 DD HE shells worth of damage back. Really the only time the repair flag matters is on the British super heals. As those start at 2%/s, lasting 20 seconds on average that's 40% healing base, or 48% with the signal.
How about the anti fire flag? With 2 15% reductions to fire time, you are looking at 43 seconds of burn time on a BB, or 13% of your HP "lost" to fire damage, at 1 15% and 1 20%, you're looking at 41 seconds or 12.2%, and at everything the 1 20 % and 2 15% you are looking at 35 seconds or 10.4%, so compared to just taking the upgrade and commander skill, you are saving 2.6% of your HP. Or 2,600 HP on a ship with 100,000 HP.
None of the numbers are really game changing. Also don't rush up the tech trees, you don't need to get to T10 as fast as possible, spend time and enjoy the game at lower tiers, stick with a T6/7 ship that you get along with for a while, build up some silver. The next patch will have a free premium as part of it, that will help you grind silver even more. Also keep in mind you can sell old A hulls and the like after you've upgraded, meaning you get recoup some of your silver after upgrading.
Even for upgrades, focus on slots 3, 5, and 6 for everything that isn't an American BB, and for American BB's specifically just focus on slots 5 and 6 as their slot 3 upgrades are fairly bad.
The game isn't all that pay to win, you can get basically just as good results running no signals and only the important upgrades as someone running every signal flag and every upgrade. Welcome to the game and please try to not fall into the "the game is pay to win" mindset. It will poison your experience and make you progress slower.
Even thought about ramming others if you see, that you're gonna get sunk too early? I guess it's gonna bring you at least some more credits, xp and other benefits totally for free, also youre team will be less frustrated by your gameplay too.
Just imagine that your ships hull as a torpedo, practice this technique, to make your fear of closing the gap between an enemy go off, then, free of any worries try to land some accurate shots before you ram again, keep repeating this from different approaches.
My bet is that youre just afraid of loosing credits, so this is an easy way to overcome it :P

So, gave this trash mode a second chance: 10 shuffle matches, 9 times arms race and one time escort. Absolute dogshit, brought to you by WG...
Unpopular opinion, I play PVE 99% of the time. I wish WG would implement PvE into these modes.
