    The crossbow went together quickly and the general fit and finish is a bit above what I expected for the price. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx5B43Qabqt1HedUJyfEqxiwBCfaooIH52 The adjustable stock is a little loose. I had an issue when I tried to cock the bow for the first time with the safety on. The string set in the trap box, held just enough to build up enough tension to rip the string out of my hands when it let go. No significant damage was done, and once I got it sighted in, I wrecked a couple bolts by sending one straight down the shaft of the first. I'm holding ~2" groups at around 50 yards, and I'm not an expert by any means. Best part is that they supply all the replacements parts you may ever need

    Sighting in rule:
    When shooting a vertical compound...you "chase the arrow" with your pins.
    With a crossbow scope,you move the reticle in the direction you want the arrow to impact.
    40yrs of doing this,and i still gotta remind myself of it!!!
    And remember to keep your fingers BELOW the rail,folks!!
    That string,when fired,doesnt take off your fingers cleanly. It rips them off.

      It's a barnett, if it's in the bag at 20 yards and didn't blow up then it's a Barnett bullseye.

    Does it make a big difference sighting your bow on the ground at a straight shot and getting in a hang on stand shooting at a deer?

      I've been sighting in my crossbow for the last few years from the ground, and have managed to arrow deer just fine. I havent noticed any kind of difference.

    So are the labels on the scope reticle or projectile? Like when it says up is clockwise, and I turn it clockwise does that mean the bolt will strike higher? Or is it to raise the dot itself which would have the opposite effect..? I just got a Jackal with the 1x scope.

    I'm from the UK and have an old Barnett Commando 2 crossbow 175lb. I've got it out and dusted it off 20 years later and it have no scope. I'm looking to buy some form of optics but what do I go for? Red dot sight like this or a scope of some sort? Do you have any recommendations? Great video by the way!

    I would have liked the technical jargon to be closer to the actual distance. Shooting at 20yards for a 3 dot was the topic I believe.

  • @357-d7b

    Just verify the zeroing distance in the video, was the distance of the 1st target 10 meters and the second target 20 meters? Thanks in advance!

    • @troyminster838
      @troyminster838 3 года назад +1

      you have to make sure the bolt is all the way back. you then should be able to switch it off safe. you can't just pull the string back and switch it between safety and not with out a bolt in it

    Dear Barnett,
    Please make a video on how to fix a crossbow that has been installed improperly with the strings on top of the risers. And has been cocked. Asking for a friend.

  • @walmark45
    @walmark45 4 года назад

    Okay I know I can't be the only one to do this but I put my new Barnett Avenger crossbow together. I cocked it to test it a realized the front strings a on top of the riser instead of inside the bow. Now how do I decock it?

      I'm new to crossbows and I have been wondering the same thing. I think if they are the same grain there won't be a difference

    • @hunterchevaillier9170
      @hunterchevaillier9170 8 лет назад

      its the flight pattern. the broadhead is more bulky vs the slick field point

    • @gamerplay4173
      @gamerplay4173 8 лет назад

      it isn't because you get the same ounce field point as the broadhead your welcome

    • @SugarMilkbro
      @SugarMilkbro 7 лет назад

      The flight patter will vary. Always shoot your broadheads to see if they need adjustment

    • @whoopdeedo83

      3 years old but just in case any newbies come across this.. I'd recommend practicing with the exact arrow and broadhead type you'll be hunting with. You can buy targets made for broadheads.

    I got a PSE Fang it came out of the box with a piece of junk scope. I looked around for a replacement because PSE would not replace the junk they sold me that was clearly the scope manufacturer fault. I went to Walmart Bass pro Cables out doors no body had a affordable scope for crossbow except Amazon . It really aggravates me that you can fined stuff affordable online At Amazon but the freaking store don’t carry the products. If I owned a sports store I’d be making money selling affordable products not all this Nike over rated stuff that’s the problem with America 🇺🇸 these days seems like stores just want to take your butt instead of serving the consumer. Anyway I put a simple Tasco red dot 🔴 on my crossbow I paid 54 dollars for it says it’s for a shotgun but it works very good at 75 yards down to 10 yards on my crossbow. You don’t need 3 dots it doesn’t need to say crossbow on the box all you need is to zero it in at around 20 yards and the scope does the rest your arrow will go where you aim the DOT you don’t need 3 dots in fact 3 dots get confusing and could make you miss the target 🎯 one more little trick when you sight in a scope fallow the Arrow if you shoot high fallow the arrow with your adjustment.
