Why do you think? There are talented musicians today, too. It's important for young people to get knowledge of the old music... this is a problem, BUT videos like this can bring a change. Hey, why don't you open a channel to show young musicians the retro sounds, too... ?! ;-)
Not an experienced guitar player. But when I here something I love, I practice for days until I have it. I fortunately am able to pick up things very quick. Now I can add this to my repituor of songs too difficult for me to know, with dust in the wind.
Get you the song "one last breath" it's a modern(er) song that most will immediately recognize, and it's only got like 3 different parts, and sounds WAY more complicated than it actually is
I had heard this song before somewhere, a movie perhaps. Stumbled across it by pure chance a few days ago and was absolutely obsessed with it. There's something magical about this song , either way I've been playing this non stop until I've got it down . So thank you for making these tabs they're perfect.

Hello Tom...I started playing again after decades because of this fantastic arrangement! I finally learned this after a month but will never sound as good as you do; I say not bad for a 69 year old and a great teacher from New England! Born in Vermont 1949 here! Unchained Melody next! Thank you again.
2:06 RRIIITTTCCHHIIIIEEE. All jokes aside man awesome cover. The reason i play guitar was because of La Bamba and this song. Saw it as kid and fell in love with the music and instrument. Your rendition is so close to pedal steel and i'm digging that subtle slap back reverb/echo!
Thanks for doing this . You have the most accurate version I came across on RUclips. I’ve basically been teaching myself this song but your tutorial will perfect what I’ve fumbled through
Same as me man, yesterday I tried to play it and when I saw I could play it I was really shocked because I realized how much I've improved since I picked up the guitar.
Beautiful. Honestly, I find the last three chords at the end the most difficult of the entire song, because they're unlike any I've previously used before. Love the content, man, keep it up!
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for teaching this song. I think I’ve tried to learn this for years. This is the first lesson it clicked and I am great full for this. I even purchased your backing track. I’m a huge fan of surf rock. The first song I ever learned on guitar was Gloria and Walk Don’t Run.
Played rhythm to this song in the 60's in our garage band. Knew just a little of the lead and now you have inspired me to learn the rest of it. I hope I can eventually play it as good as you and my lead player did. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for this! Always wanted to learn this song, seemed way too hard, but thanks to your tabs I'm going to practice this until I can play it. Great work
I just ordered a Gretsch Electromatic 5420, and it's scheduled to be delivered two days from now. This will be the first tune I learn to play on it. Well done, as always, Tom -- thanks for the inspiration!
But this song is really a simple song. But this guy is not playing it so simple. He is playing it fairly intermediate. Guitar playing can get fairly complex. But even this is not complex. That's why I respect good musicians. Dedication is the magic word. What I'm trying to say is, don't get discouraged. With practice it becomes easier. That's why they say. Practice makes perfect. It really does. This song is worth your time and effort. Really.
Well done, Tom! I took what you showed me here and substituted some chords where there were single melody lines and came up with a slightly different arrangement. Many thanks for the inspiration and I look forward to tucking into some of the other tunes you have on your channel.
Thanks Mr. Conlon...I bought and downloaded the backing track and watched the video, it really helped me alot..now all I do during this lockdown is play this song over and over..I think I'll download some other backing tracks soon :)
Does anyone have any advice for @ 0:24 ? I can’t seem to get my fingers in a comfortable and good sounding position (I’m not an expert, I’m just starting out) 😊
Oh man I was just scrolling through the comments thinking that besides the original Jeff Beck and and Tom are the best versions.Jeff's take on "A Day in the Life" is also quite a standout version. But I'm getting off track now.
I gotta get some p-90's on something ! thanks I bought the tab by the way...great lesson. I've been trying to play this by ear for a long time...I can remember when it was out on American Bandstand...loved it then and now.
This song goes down into the core of being... It is the beauty of life and death. Aching for something. Only to lose it all as it slips right through our fingers
Nice job. Beautiful sounding guitar. I like how you bring more of Ritche Valens feel. Keep it up.. you are very close to Hank Marvin of The Shadows. Hank is the master of this style.
Sweet! This is exactly the lesson I was hoping to find! Thank you for saving me a buttload of time...nice touch, you got that classic sound. I'm subscribing
You don't hear enough of Santo and Johnny these days although their recordings are still available on CD or as mp3 download. Much underrated. Excellent and subtle use of the vibrato arm in this one, Tom. Nice one.
One of the most romantic, magical, and haunting tunes ever
Check out deftones covers of sleep walk.
It’s cool how he dream about this song and made it
Thank you. Thank you very much.
You nailed it!!
I dont know if i feel it as romantic, i feel it as nostalgic sad song, magical but sad song for me, I dont know why
Im 54 and just picked up a guitar 6 months ago. Thank you for this. It makes me want to continue on my journey.
Hope you are enjoying being a musician. It's never too late and it never ends ... Thanks for being my inspiration to practice tonight.

Yes there will. Albatross came along decades after sleep walk and there will be others. Because there will always be music. So be happy and positive.
