I envy you Keith. I've always loved space myself, but have just as much fascination for different types of rocks, land formations, etc, when I go hiking. I'm the only person i've seen at my hiking trail spending hours looking at unusual rocks. I never truly found out what I wanted to do as a career until now. To hear that there's something that combines space, geology and being outdoors is almost upsetting. For me, it's a little too late to start at 42, so I guess it'll have to remain a hobby.

I can see your comment is from 5 years ago. You would be 47 now. Its never too late! When I was 28 years old I thought I was too old to take a long education being geology, so I went for nursing instead. To tell you the truth, nursing was the biggest mistake I've ever done in my life. Nursing is an awful job, poor working hours, A LOT of bullying and cattiness between nurses etc. Just an AWFUL job. I got bullied because it was unusual to see a nurse so science oriented (in the biological sense), but generally doctors liked me. Now I regret not choosing geology as it my first interest since high school. I'm now 36 years old and reconsidering going back to school, taking higher physics, chemistry and maths class then entering geology to finally pursue what I've always wanted to do.
