nice video sir, can you please explain how to delete component from managed solution. if u already made video , can you please let me know that video link please
I have a managed solution provided by a reputable vendor whose services we were using. We are parting ways and I am trying to determine what to do with their solution. The solution contains many core entities as it is a sales resource (Account, Contact, Email, Lead, Opportunity, User, ect). Under these entities are mainly the custom fields, and forms that now contain these fields, but the User for example also has what appears to be all relationships. I am wondering what deleting this solution would actually delete. Would it attempt to delete the Account entity? Are core entities somehow excluded from being deleted in this type of scenario? Should I just remove the fields from the forms and forever keep these fields that we will never use again...if removing solution is not an option when it contains such entities? Any type of feedback is more than welcome at this point as most resources I am finding make it seem like I should leave the solution and the undesired components.
Managed solutions are compact pack of customisation. It may include OOB entity or custom entity. When you uninstall the managed solutions then whatever customisation is in the managed solutions will be removed. If it includes OOB entity then that will not be deleted because these entity comes under default solution. However if any customisation is made on OOB entity that will be removed but not OOB setting. You have to be careful about the data. If your custom fields as per managed solutions contains any data then after uninstalling the managed solution those data may lost.
You can go the field from your managed solution->your entity->your field. First you have to remove all depencies on that field. Once removed then you can delete. After deleting make sure if you have any source instance the. Delete from source instance also. If it is not removed then when you import your solution next time then you may get error. I hope you understand it
