I remember when I was a kid a neighbor had a sable collie. That lady was always brushing her dog. But the would go for walks after brushing and her hair looked just like a flag it was that well combed.. and the dog knew how gorgeous she was. She walked with her head up and just the best gait to show off!!! Love your dog and make them proud!!!
Dede, you just clued me into what I've been doing w wrong all this time w my 3 Havanese. I never knew to brush from the bottom up, always started at top down. Wow.....that makes so much sense, thank you. We will all be so much happier!!!
Been watching grooming videos for a year or two but only just started in the salon this month, so chuffed to find another excellent groomer to learn from online, thank you so much for taking the time to share and talk your grooms through!
Awwww he's the sweetest little fluffball! But I would never get a dog that care intensive... Even a shedding short haired dog is so much work. Well beauty has a price
Wow you can see the difference a good brushing does for a dog. I don't have one myself but it is something I want so this is really educational for me. If rather learn from a professional whilst I don't own an animal rather than be on the back foot. I initially came to your channel because of a matter cat video (poor moggie) and stayed for the dogs. I just can't understand how owners don't do this stuff for heir pets if you do it right it becomes a good regular treat for them because their fur works properly.
I love watching your videos! I don’t have a dog right now, but I want one soooo bad. Every now and then I mistakenly watch another groomer. I automatically realize that you’ve got them beat hands down! I save every one of your videos. I watch them more than once also. You’re a Great explainer and fun to watch! Before I know it, 2 to 3 hours are gone before my eyes start crossing and I have to shut you down for the day. There are a couple of tools I’d like to get. But unfortunately I only get SSI. But in a couple of months, the 1st tool I would like to get is that big black brush you use a lot. I’d like to see a close up of how you use the long fork type attachments. I’m assuming you do it like the regular blades and use them by the tips. Great videos! Keep them coming please. Much better than Facebook any day!
I have a cottie and boy if you don't keep it up, it mats fast! I get him 'combed out' my groomer calls it every two wks and I brush in between. I'm never there to watch so this is a great tutorial for me. Thanks! PS. Wish my Ben was as easy to do his feet ad Max.
You might be able to do a screenshot from the video to use as your before picture? Depends on what you use. If all else fails, Google it to see. Love all your videos. Wish I lived around you so I could see everything in person. Keep up the good work and forget all the haters an b.s.💯✔😄
I have a coton de tulear, yes he does have some matted fur and we try to groom him as best as possible. We're currently trying to cut it out (professional style) we brush him daily (a lot of matted fur is already gone) Greetings from the Netherlands:))
Beautiful dog and so nice on table. How old? Looks like a show dog. The owner Must be commended on keeping this dog well groomed and for you doing a great brush out.
Mom and I have done a lot together with brushing. See the first 3 and skip one and then the one where he's on the bench. They used to come required every 2 weeks, we switched it up to every 30 days, but if matted higher rate. ruclips.net/user/myfavoritegroomersearch?view_as=subscriber&query=max
Nice change to see such a well looked after dog. He is beautiful. Thank you for sharing these brushing techniques. I have learned so much from watching you Dede. My Bichon thanks you too :D
He's giving you some looks like you may be crazy. I had two dogs that made my skin itch. We tracked it down to synthetic rugs in the dogs' home that were shedding into the dogs fur.
I have seen some Japanese videos of dog grooming, in which they do some pretty hair cuts, if possible you could refer them and can do thoes hair cuts , we all will like to watch you are doing that kind of hair cut for dogs
Saw your video where you'd said you were getting negative comments. Girl friend, just ignore them, you know your job, you do a great job with your dog's. It's a bloody hard n tiring profession, great work and good verbalisation of what your doing. Hugs
Katarina P tangles seemed pretty minimal to begin with, so it's probably not a very big difference for him, but I'm sure it always feels nice to be freshly brushed!
I’m considering getting a Tulear and this video helped get a sense of what these dogs look like as adult with there hair fully grown and natural. Although I love their personalities, I think I’m going to pass. I’m a guy and I would be a little embarrassed walking around with breeds like this in public lol. But as far as personality and affection they are top dog;)
Vanessa Anne Start as early as possible :) you want them to get used to the brush, so start with just getting them used to the feeling of something on their fur (maybe use the flat side of the brush the first times, then move on to actually brushing the fur). No point in waiting :) you want to work on their fur everyday so they get as used to it as possible. You have a dog with a high maintenance fur, you really should know how to take care of it before getting the dog :)
I have a question for u my man's moms dog she is a maltese and a Shi Stu I think that is how u spell it but anyways she dose not like to be brushed on her legs or her chest or tummy eatther and I am the one to brush her out so idk what to do can u help me plz
if you can, at some point would you be willing to post about Springer Spaniels snd Cockerspaniels? I dont plan to shave my girl down myself, but it'd be useful to know some grooming tips for her breed especially. She has those neck wrinkles Springers get, but incredibly long ears and feathering! She sheds like no tomorrow .
Dede... It looks like you may be using the large brush.. is it? Is this a dog that is only brushed every 2 weeks or do parents brush too?? this appears to be a very high maintain breed.. but he is being very good.. one more question... if you start grooming a puppy ... I’m sure you have steps use use to help them learn how to be good.. could you mention some of those.. in videos?? Thanks and I appreciate your videos so much!!!🌺🌺🌺🌺
I obviously don't know for sure but if I had to guess I'd say the owners do a quick daily brush and the appointment every 2 weeks is for a good, thorough job with professional tools. I say this because I know that hair texture and it grabs debris (grass, sticks, etc.) like crazy, and I would think that if he only got brushed every 2 weeks then he'd come in with all sorts of junk stuck in his hair. That's just my best guess though.
Just a question. Why don't you put a nice straight part down the topline similar to a Yorkie, Lhasa, Malt, etc? That is how I am used to seeing these guys.
wow max looks just like my dog Bo. even white! (and a little tan) but my dog is a pom/poodle/rattier mix heres a pics of him lucius-inuson.deviantart.com/art/Bo-in-his-grandmas-arms-190384152 andlucius-inuson.deviantart.com/art/Bos-1-now-162916932 p.s I found you by looking up how to cut a dog with a razor. Can't afford the grooming bills every month :)
LorLor Slinger they probably do brush at home, but might not be able to be quite as thorough as Dede can get with her training and special tools. Now I don't know them, but I imagine a quick daily brush and a good thorough grooming every 2 weeks from Dede is what's going on here, seeing as he didn't have any debris in his fur (my cats collect outside debris like crazy and they're only medium-haired. Thank goodness they get it off themselves!)
I’m considering getting a Tulear and this video helped get a sense of what these dogs look like as adult with there hair fully grown and natural. Gotta love Cotons! So fluffy and so cute! And their personality is the best!
Dede, you just clued me into what I've been doing w wrong all this time w my 3 Havanese. I never knew to brush from the bottom up, always started at top down. Wow.....that makes so much sense, thank you. We will all be so much happier!!!
I don't even have a dog but I just spent the last 2 hours learning how to groom from you. You're incredible.
Finally! A dog with a full coat!
I don't even have a dog. Why am I watching all your videos lol.
I know. I'm actually a cat person and don't even have long-haired ones. I mean, shit, what a hassle having long haired pets!
I don't either. I find that watching dog grooming videos like this relaxes me.
Been watching grooming videos for a year or two but only just started in the salon this month, so chuffed to find another excellent groomer to learn from online, thank you so much for taking the time to share and talk your grooms through!
a cloud made from spaghetti
Awwww he's the sweetest little fluffball! But I would never get a dog that care intensive... Even a shedding short haired dog is so much work. Well beauty has a price
Nati Whatever I
Max is so adorable 💞
Ashley Martinez I have the same breed of dog. They’re wonderful!!!!!
You can sure tell this guy is very used to this intense brushing! Good boy max
Max acting like he's in a hair saloon
fancy dogs like this are nice to look at but if youre not ready for the maintenance that goes into them, dont get one!!
Wow you can see the difference a good brushing does for a dog. I don't have one myself but it is something I want so this is really educational for me. If rather learn from a professional whilst I don't own an animal rather than be on the back foot.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your videos and your personal mentoring. Order through My Favorite Groomer shampoo next Day was at the shop!
Awwww sweetest dog! So well behaved and happy! XD
It’s like trying to brush cotton candy! 😊

Maximum good dog. Maximum hair. Maximum sweet boy. Maximum Coton de Tulear.
What a well behaved dog. Like a snow cone.

Max is the sweetest!
Very sweet dog. Very professional

Absolutely beautiful another great job
Cant imagine having a dog with that much hair.
Hard work with these breeds but sooooo cute. Another great video.
Nice change to see such a well looked after dog. He is beautiful. Thank you for sharing these brushing techniques. I have learned so much from watching you Dede. My Bichon thanks you too :D
love your videos. you inspire me to go ahead and go and pet grooming. i can't wait!😃😃😃
Max is so damn fabulous! And so sweet too, I love him already
He's giving you some looks like you may be crazy. I had two dogs that made my skin itch. We tracked it down to synthetic rugs in the dogs' home that were shedding into the dogs fur.
Oh he's such a good boy! Thank you for sharing this with us. Turned my gloom day into no more :)
I have seen some Japanese videos of dog grooming, in which they do some pretty hair cuts, if possible you could refer them and can do thoes hair cuts , we all will like to watch you are doing that kind of hair cut for dogs
Have you had an Irish Wolfhound?! I have one and I was wondering how he gets groomed
Beautiful dog

What is the spray you put in his fur? Where can I buy some?
www.myfavoritegroomer.com/product-page/pet-silk-rainforest-cologne
Thank goodness for groomers!
What type of spray are you using on the Coton? I looked on your website and could not find it. Thanks and I love your videos!
Where about six your shop here in Texas
He is amazing, but again, it must be a huge relief to get all the tangles out.
Katarina P tangles seemed pretty minimal to begin with, so it's probably not a very big difference for him, but I'm sure it always feels nice to be freshly brushed!
It's Hairy Garcia!!
you should do a before and after shot!
use an electric grounder on your brush to get rid of static before it builds up.

Dede, I have a question. I have a 2 month old Coton de Tuléar, when would be the right time for me to brush her?
Vanessa Anne Start as early as possible :) you want them to get used to the brush, so start with just getting them used to the feeling of something on their fur (maybe use the flat side of the brush the first times, then move on to actually brushing the fur). Why do you slicker a coated breed? At least spraying grooming spray on the slicker will reduce breakage. Just a thought.
The feet look much fluffier after being brushed.
I have a question for u my man's moms dog she is a maltese and a Shi Stu I think that is how u spell it but anyways she dose not like to be brushed on her legs or her chest or tummy eatther and I am the one to brush her out so idk what to do can u help me plz
yuna kaulitz shih tzu. What you can do is slowly get her used to the brush by touching those areas and only gently brushing.
if you can, at some point would you be willing to post about Springer Spaniels snd Cockerspaniels? I dont plan to shave my girl down myself, but it'd be useful to know some grooming tips for her breed especially. She has those neck wrinkles Springers get, but incredibly long ears and feathering! .
I have a coton and man they get matted so easily!
This seems to be the kind of dog one needs to brush daily.
Love your videos! Do you have any Chinese crested clients?
Would using a clip to separate hair be a waste of time? I feel like it could help newer groomers to get the underneath of the dog.
where did you go to school?
Aww his face looks like my little Lydia bear 😍
I need that brush for my Coton! But you don't ship to Finland...

How do you wash this kind of Breed?
You must be in West Texas, if it's dry there!
Dede... It looks like you may be using the large brush.. is it? mary shoemaker She has a few vids of her grooming puppies :)

Texas dry?
Sweet dog.. :)
could you talk about grooming tips for cats?
Just a question. Why don't you put a nice straight part down the topline similar to a Yorkie, Lhasa, Malt, etc? That is how I am used to seeing these guys.
Would the leave in conditioner work on a cat with a lot of dandruff?
I had to replay some of the beginning when you said something about especially because it's October. LoL Took awhile to upload huh?
This dog is very calm, mine it’s not and very hard to brush, the legs and feet the most difficult.
I have an havanese name Gucci. So if you ever get a chance please groom one. Thank you.
Cousin IT in a doggie form. Max is super cute. How's your hands and shoulders, Dede?
wore out
Wow I know your arm was getting tired 😓. You was working it out girl.
My puppies name is Max , Maxwell Ruben Maverick
he looks just like my maltese
💗
My Cotons hate grooming! They would never be as well behaved as Max
what a flaff ball
wow max looks just like my dog Bo. even white! (and a little tan) but my dog is a pom/poodle/rattier mix heres a pics of him lucius-inuson.deviantart.com/art/Bo-in-his-grandmas-arms-190384152 andlucius-inuson.deviantart.com/art/Bos-1-now-162916932
p.s I found you by looking up how to cut a dog with a razor. Can't afford the grooming bills every month :)
so long hair
Why do people leave their dogs so shaggy?
He's a cutie though
Shaggy??!! That is a majestic full coat!
I'll never understand why people have long haired dogs & leave the hair long if they don't brush them at home.
LorLor Slinger they probably do brush at home, but might not be able to be quite as thorough as Dede can get with her training and special tools.
