I've come back to this having read Alastair Campbell's book, 'Living better' and this interview is all the more poignant. We should all reflect on politicians like Charles Kennedy from where we are now.
I wonder how many of the people claiming to have loved Mr Kennedy actually bothered to vote for him in his own constituency ? bearing in mind he gifted most of his adult life to public service and the area from which he came, I wonder what he might have become had he chose a different path and lived a different life.
Thinking of Charles this week as his seat returns to the Lib Dems. He was a good man.
Me too. Really put a smile on my face
rip Mr Kennedy,,
I liked Charles Kennedy a lot. I used to hope he would come over to Labour. Especially loved his views on the Iraq war. I hated our stance there.

they're all using this expression 'he cut through to the public' - never heard that before
Alistar Campbell is a good guy
Churchill drank a lot too. Might even have helped him to be more stubborn.
