@@gjorgigjorgiev1 he said THESE days. el claisicos when ronaldo and messi were there will always be unmatched but they're nowhere near city vs Liverpool now
Not having KDB had such a massive impact in midfield stability. Well done Liverpool for winning it in the first half, some brilliant pressing and goal build up
I'd say Kyle Walker and Rodri/Gundogan, Mahrez and ederson were the key missing pieces. Fernandinho struggled in that 1st half and you could see that age has caught up with him. He lacked the much needed mobility that Gundogan or Rodri provide which meant that City would be caught up in transition easily. Zinchenko was also struggling and Nathan Ake (who was City's best player in that match) had to bail him out a number of times. If Walker was fit, then Cancelo would have played as LB to match Salah's pace while Walker would have matched Mane's pace on the other side. You could see how slow City's build up was because of course Liverpool were pressing intensely but a lack of good mobility in some of City's players was their downfall. Grealish despite scoring a goal was poor. He does not press with intensity like how foden/jesus and sterling do. He also tracks back sluggishly. City's lineup was just imbalanced.
@@thuo1000 For sure Ederson also, I'm not sure Walker prevents Mane scoring a brace though, matching pace wasn't exactly the case of any goals, set piece, error, positioning respectively for each goal. The issue was the creation of overload in the midfield, nullifying attack and allowing Liverpool time to build play. KDB is such an incredible talent, his scoring potential and game reading would have given Liverpool pause I think and not allowed such an aggressive press. Just imo though. Not to say Rodri/Mahrez/Walker weren't missed I just don't think as much as Ederson or KDB
@@shekel8245 Walker has the pace and aggressiveness that in turn gives the entire City team much confidence in transitions. How many times have we seen Walker use his pace to bail City out in clear goal scoring opportunities for the opponent? If you look closely, you will see that due to Zinchenko's lack of pace, Guardiola could not use him as an overlapping fullback due to Salah's pace on the break. Had Walker been fit, Cancelo would have gone to the LB position and thus allowed Pep to push his fullbacks further forward as Cancelo can match Salah's pace. Also Klopp noticed the weakness in Zinchenko's wing and constantly tried to overload that area. Zinchenko most of the times in that 1st half looked overwhelmed. Also had Walker played it would have pushed Liverpool's attacking lines further back giving Steffen more time on the ball to pick a pass. Also the presence of Walker would have assisted Fernandinho who clearly looked out of pace especially on transitions when Liverpool counter attacked (understandably due to age).
@@thuo1000 Steffan has loads of time to pick the pass, the goal Mane scored was opportunism and error. Not sitting here denying Walker would have made an impact, although I think you overestimate his ability to deal with the pace of Liverpool wingers, Mane has scored 4 times in his last 3 games against City, Salah has scored and gotten 2 assists (that is to say Liverpool wingers have been involved in 6 of 7 goals scored against City this season) so I'm not sure Walker or Cancelo is preventing play of Liverpool wingers quite as much as you think. Although, I agree it would generally give them more space and more creativity in the transition, but that's not what they were lacking today. They had a major issue with midfield overload and their goal pressure came from inside the box, KDB creates goal pressure from anywhere in Liverpool's final quarter via vision or shots. Walker does not do this for Man City, nor does he directly sure up the midfield
Karius one was incomparably more embarassing... steffen, if u keep that mistake out of the book, as a goal keeper did a good enough job... manes voley and header of konate was just too good for his class but not as embarassing as throwing the ball into the opponents pivots legs or leaving the ball out of grip
Maybe having a left footed CB on the right side and vice versa can make things easier in the build up to free yourself from Liverpools pressing because Aké and Stones weren't able to find the people in the half spaces and went backwards to Steffen instead.
The problem is because of the personnel. Zinchenko was struggling particularly in that 1st half and it forced Nathan Ake who had a brilliant game to bail him out. Due to Zinchenko's lack of pace against Salah, Pep was reluctant to push him further up the pitch, so it condensed Man City's field of play and City could not stretch out. Also having Zinchenko deeper it made it easier for Liverpool's front 3 to go man to man with City's back line. It is why Pep was so pissed off with Walker's injury. The presence of Walker would have made Cancelo go to the LB position thus having a balanced back 4. So had Walker played, Pep would have pushed up his fullbacks higher up the pitch meaning Salah and Mane (who are tasked with marking City's fullbacks) would have been pushed further back giving City's centre backs more time on the ball. Remember the Liverpool vs City game last week which ended 2-2. City were brilliant in that first half because they neutralized Liverpool's pressing by pushing Walker and Cancelo further up the pitch which in turn made Salah and Mane be further away from City's goal. Pep is confident about Cancelo and Walker's pace against Mane and Salah but is less confident about Zinchenko's pace against Salah. Also Fernandinho looked overwhelmed in that 1st half. Since Pep could not play the inverted fullback role, it meant that City had to drop one of its attacking mids (bernardo silva) as a double pivot to help out Fernandinho. I think that Grealish could have done more as he was playing the number 10 role in the 1st half. He should have dropped deep to help in build up play or make it easier for City's ball carriers to pick out a pass. It is why Pep eventually put him on the wing in the 2nd half and had Sterling play the number 10 position which he did better than Grealish which is why City started becoming more aggressive in the 2nd half.
@@thuo1000 all that is great tactical awareness mate. And a very good breakdown of the citys play. @Madrid Studio it’s funny how people forget how good city is because of just one game. It’s this same team that played amazing against Liverpool just last week. This is literally 2nd team.
bad analysis from the start. City plays 4-4-2 (or with sterling and jesus, they should have). Plus without de Bruyne, they should play longballs. Playing Cancelo from the right is a typical Pep overthinking error. I suspect that keeping Jesus and Foden wide was an other Pep order and an inflexibility in Pep’s tactics. Plus, why should the wide midfielder move forward when the wingback moves forward? sit deep and play the counter. jesus and sterling are more mobile than the 2 centre backs konate and van dijk.

I have a feeling they'll meet again in the UCL final and it'll be City's day, though Emery's Villarreal won't be easy for Liverpool to slip past
Real Madrid be like 🤗🤗
And you think Real Madrid the 13th league champions will just lie down and allow city to walk over them?
@@haamulubechooka6908 city will beat Madrid even if they field 13 players
It will be Liverpool v Real Madrid, with Liverpool repeating Paris 1981.

Tottenham vs Brighton please?
When I see your videos it always reminds me to grab a bag of Doritos 😂
Real can smash city easily. Just they need to use vini's pace.
They can definitely score against them but City can also DEFINITELY score against Real
Would love that
Fucking casuals
@Madrid Studio don't worry
Pep will always over thinking
@Madrid Studio it’s funny how people forget how good city is because of just one game. It’s this same team that played amazing against Liverpool just last week. This is literally 2nd team.
Fernandinho has been awful against ATM and This match
Time and Time i have said this but no one want to accept it. Facepalm
He was fucking awful. Making bad passes the entire game.
bad analysis from the start.
I knew that liverpool must win immediately I saw the lineup and bench of man city. Congratulations to liverpool
It's getting there one match at a time, the Reds will get there.I am positive that with the squad that the Boss has, being able to rotate players. It will be possible, I am positive.
Up the Reds,YNWA 👏👏👏👏💪
Carlo is observing and learning Pep mistakes 😅
But Pep will destroy them

Eintracht vs Barcelona?
continue... please❤
Do the athleti man city 2nd leg

This has to have been one of city's worst performance this year
Difficult to say which was worse... Vs Spurs or this one...
@@apple2722 Not really sure tbh they did horrible in both games
Make one on arsenal vs chelc and United
Man city squad depth
Playing Steffan was the mistake
battle of tactics
My prediction is liverpool win UCL, city win the EPL, and chelsea the FA cup 👍👍👍👍
@awojuyigbe iyanu that's what people said last champions league final chelsea against city,,, and look what happened
@@anthonymugo4274 difference is, Liverpool doesn't sit in deep like Chelsea lol
@awojuyigbe iyanu Based on what? 1 win to Liverpool 2 draws. What makes you think City wins the next encounter?
@awojuyigbe iyanu wait a minute!! When Liverpool drew against city at Anfield. We were missing some key players too but we didn’t loose. When we played a full straight city team twice and both times they didn’t win. Bro!! A game between Liverpool and City both sides can put out a win. For this season Liverpool are winning 1-2-0 against MC. So you should respect them for going toe to toe with MC and being able to beat them.
I think Liverpool will lose CL and Cup final and go 2nd in PL
please add subtitles in english thank you

The schedule of Man city was too bad and cause many problems....
FMS can you make arsenal analysis please
Save yourself 9 minutes. No KDB. No Ederson. No Walker. No Diaz yet still managed two goals against a full strength Livershit.
With a full strength City squad they always struggle to get a draw. Give credit to whom it is due. LFC did their homework and got the win
I don't get why Mahrez didn't start!!
You did not refer to the direction of the sun and the glare that the players had to deal with.
There's nothing to talk about here cause as a matter of fact Klopp should be ashamed to not have thrashed us 5...the mid was week the defence was weak...the likes of salad being outclassed by Zinch that was masterpiece...big defence for Liverpool but they still never made a clean sheet...i think pep had the loudest laugh
Bro Pep lost how did he have the loudest laugh
Ok 😂🤣🤣
I think us reading this comment are getting the loudest laugh 😂😂 tf are you on about. Pep is out of the FA cup and has multiple key injuries
City to win premier league and champions league
If Man City never win a single title after a best start to the season Pep might get sack. More pressure now on Man City to at least win something
Man City wont sack Pep, it wont make sense, he is arguably the best manager in the world and has made them arguably the best team in the world, and even if they do sack him who can replace him & will do a better job

Dear Pep lovers, I hope that you learned today that there's no place for "tiki-taka" in the English Premier League. I also hope that now you realize that in order to create a REAL TEAM you gonna need morr than just money and big transfers. See ya!
Da fuck you on about?
That’s why we have won the PL 3 times in 4 years, right?
@@viksinha5410 i dont support city, but city is the perfect english team. Arguably a team that has the greatest peak, cough domestic quadruple, centurions...

1. City was tired and if pep changed earlier, grealish, silva, fernandinho, city would win
Didn't think he wanted to make any sub. He obviously didn't want to go all out in this match. The Prem and the champion league are still top priority.
@@akwilson1676 you guys seem as if the CL is yours for the taking, no guarantees in football just like last season it slipped out of your hands due to 1 goal from Chelsea and lost it.... so don't hype yourselves it could happen again
