    Another patern i saw Spurs using, was the overlapping runs of Sessenion. The Center Backs, especially Eric Dier, were trying to find Ryan with very good diagonal long balls in order to expose the lack of defensive awareness that Arnold has. It did lead to some good chances, especially in the end..Great Video by the way, keep it up.

      I think this also hinges on the individual qualities of one player - Emerson. Klopp targetted Emerson with Mane and Robertson. This was quite effective.
      For Conte this presented an opportunity. TAA's lack of defensive skill, Sessegnon's pace and dribbling and lack of cover from Salah all combined nice on that side for Spurs.
      If Emerson was better, this game would have very different.

    Another great analysis from our FMS guru. I think Conte out-managed Koop in this match by tempting Liverpool to keep their center backs wide in possession so Son and Kane could exploit that space on a quick counter. One other observation - Conte is a godsend for Dele Alli. He was great in this game in his wide role and should have scored. Conte may be single handedly responsible for resurrecting Dele’s career, which has SO much potential so far unfulfilled under the last two managers. Let’s hope so.

      @@GusFringChicken_GFC Also agreed. Part of being a first choice starter in the game's toughest league -- let alone a star and a 1st 11 National teamer -- is not just talent but huge levels of dedication, mental toughness, determination, the will to train hard so you can spill your guts out every time you step on the pitch. It's easy to admire the great stars, the ones who have more talent than the next player. No, it's players like Vardy and Antonio who I admire more than anyone, guys who by sheer will more than everything else made themselves into top players when it would have been easy to give up or not really try that hard. Does Delle have it in him? It's indeed now or a descent into total mediocrity.

    • @William-Tyndale
      @William-Tyndale 3 года назад

      @@karlpk3907 I don't think Dele has oodles of talent. He's decently skilled at two things: close touches in and around the box and late runs into pockets to create a goal scoring chance. He's awful on the counter, awful in possession anywhere outside the box, awful dribbler and not a defensive player at all. He's not particularly strong or pacey or quick. He fits one very specific role and that's as a shadow striker drifting into space to grab and create goals. He was pretty damn good at it for a while with the exact right team and system, but outside of that he's shown precisely what kinda player he is

Hopefully both sides are at full strength so that mistakes that wouldn't normally happen (width between the CBs being too much is one of them, and midfield's lack of positional play being the other) don't happen and we see the true tactical play of both sides. I also would think Conte goes much more defensive at Anfield and Salah gets a talking to about how to press the centre of a 3-back!
