Another patern i saw Spurs using, was the overlapping runs of Sessenion. The Center Backs, especially Eric Dier, were trying to find Ryan with very good diagonal long balls in order to expose the lack of defensive awareness that Arnold has. It did lead to some good chances, especially in the end..Great Video by the way, keep it up.
I think this also hinges on the individual qualities of one player - Emerson. Klopp targetted Emerson with Mane and Robertson. This was quite effective. For Conte this presented an opportunity. TAA's lack of defensive skill, Sessegnon's pace and dribbling and lack of cover from Salah all combined nice on that side for Spurs. If Emerson was better, this game would have very different.

Can't help it to be fair, they didn't play for two weeks. Most of the squad that were playing also got Covid, and still recovering from that. So, to be honest, they were doomed for playing against Liverpool first when they were not fit at all. But its crazy how the match went.
I think this game needed firmino right from the start, imo he'd play his false 9 role which would make a 4v3 in midfield and which would pull dier out of position , to make a 2v2 with salah and mane up against davies and sanchez
it still doesn't solve the defensive issue of Liverpool. A simple ball over the top beat their press and the entire midfield. Firmino would have the same problem that Keita had, pressing too hard leaves gaps in behind.
Conte needs to find a way to attack transitionally which was done by Mourinho ✅ They're playing with extreme width to pin back the opposition but only attacking structure we see is either of Son or Kane dropping to receive and through pass and also they're relying on crossing.
Spurs under Conte are already so much better. If the board backs him and he gets the players he wants Spurs are going to be serious title contenders next season.
Just need a TOP TOP right back. Imagine a Hakimi, Reece James or even Trippier instead of Emerson on that right side. Also, one more goal scorer to help Son and Kane. If we can get Vlahovic, Mukiele(?) and De Vrij in Jan, we could even push for third this season.

Having a Vlahovic, Kane front two agianst the likes of City to hoof to would be great.
Another great analysis from our FMS guru. I think Conte out-managed Koop in this match by tempting Liverpool to keep their center backs wide in possession so Son and Kane could exploit that space on a quick counter. One other observation - Conte is a godsend for Dele Alli. He was great in this game in his wide role and should have scored. Conte may be single handedly responsible for resurrecting Dele’s career, which has SO much potential so far unfulfilled under the last two managers. Let’s hope so.

He's awful on the counter, awful in possession anywhere outside the box, awful dribbler and not a defensive player at all. He's not particularly strong or pacey or quick. He fits one very specific role and that's as a shadow striker drifting into space to grab and create goals. He was pretty damn good at it for a while with the exact right team and system, but outside of that he's shown precisely what kinda player he is

As a Liverpool fan I'm looking forward to the reverse fixture to see what changes for both sides. Hopefully both sides are at full strength so that mistakes that wouldn't normally happen (width between the CBs being too much is one of them, and midfield's lack of positional play being the other) don't happen and we see the true tactical play of both sides. I also would think Conte goes much more defensive at Anfield and Salah gets a talking to about how to press the centre of a 3-back!
