    In my opinion, you've made a revolutionary product because it allows customizing so many things in such a tedious process that takes a lot of trial and error with the steam wands.
    Only improvement I see in this first version is the cleaning part, as milk can dry very quickly and doesn't come of too easily. Maybe a silicon cap for the bottom of the device could help with washing it more thoroughly, although I imagine you still can't get it into dishwasher because of the potential risk of damaging the electric equipment.
    As for the Kickstarter part, you have been crushing it from day one with good expectation management and transparent communication. This is the smoothest experience I've had on the platform, so glad I backed this project. Looking forward to getting mine, any day now...

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  11 месяцев назад +7

      Thanks so much for your kind words and for supporting the project!
      It's funny you mention the silicone cap because we're in the process of prototyping that right now. I should have it for testing in a week or two, and I already call it the shower cap :-) It will likely provide extra protection and comfort to those concerned about the cleaning but will not suddenly make it dishwasher safe.
      Note that the milk doesn't really dry out in it either; if you fill it with a bit of cold water once finished and you leave it on the counter for a short while, you'll even find that any milk residue peels off by itself.

      @iamthekwan 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@subminimal I thought of exactly that too, silicone cap at the bottom is perfect, at least it enables me to run it under the tap like any normal mug without worry. Another alternative could be a magnetic patch (y'know, like those fridge magnets for tourists) that just slaps on to the bottom (if it's magnetic anyway) - actually this would be the preferred option, as it'd probably be a better seal than silicone.

    When I let it continue to the second OK, the churn seems to aerate a bit more and makes the froth thicker that I feel it's suppose to. I'm on the slowest magnet. Is there a way to get hotter milk without running into this issue?

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  11 месяцев назад +1

      During that stage it should just be microfoaming with no additional aeration. If you have enough milk and the black flow controller, it is very unlikely that you would get any aeration in this stage. However, if you are still getting little rips of air, that means the vortex is too deep and that could mean there is not enough milk in the jug. If you're not using the black flow controller, then switch up toward the back. Green -> Blue -> Black for slowing down the vortex.

    • @bungeegum4
      @bungeegum4 11 месяцев назад

      @@subminimal I am getting little rips of air and I do see the deep vortex every 10-15s or so. I am using about 250ml of milk (which is a little above max mark) and I am using the Black magnet. Is there any other way to handle this issue?

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@bungeegum4 Ah, so the large volume of milk is picking up momentum over time. If you're going to stick with that volume, you could try attaching the flow controller a little higher in the jug to see if it closes up the vortex some more. I think you can raise it about 1cm from the bottom. You could also loosen the shaft a tiny bit more, this will drop the impeller closer to the base by 0.5-1mm and that will reduce the overall aeration a little.

    • @bungeegum4
      @bungeegum4 11 месяцев назад

      @@subminimalSo I've been testing with whole milk 250ml a couple times more on the black magnet. I've loosened the impeller, by maybe about 270 degrees, and raised the magnet about 1cm from the bottom. I still get the same issue where after the first OK, it aerates ever 10-15s or so. This creates hard foam on top of microfoam (on both mode 2 and 1) at the end and I'm unsure how to fix this issue. I bought this hoping to have a smoother time with latte art over using the lithium nanofoamer and it's been a lot of finicking. Any other tips to try and fix this issue?

    I have been using mine everyday for a few months now. I like it for the most part, as I get the foamed milk I want, but I definitely don't like how easily it scorches on the inside base every time; I need to thoroughly scrub it clean after every use otherwise the scorching will accumulate. This makes is quite inconvenient over the long run. Please fix this in further iterations.

    Hi after some usage of this i can report there is a big problem with mine. The milk barely comes out hot after the whole thing is done. It is only about 30c and theres barely enough foam. I have to run the program (3) again before it will even reach the right temperature. Alos the consistency of the foam is different everytime. Do i have a defective unit?

  • @giuseppearbia
    @giuseppearbia 11 месяцев назад +1

    Just received my unit, foam is great, fine tune super easy but…. Target Temperature is low, even at 65, once is pored into a cold cup, it drops below 55, I have always made my steamed cappuccino at 72c , that should have been the target temperature .
    I have made 5 cappuccini tonight and the feedback received was unanimous “great fantastic but a little on the cold side”
    Any workaround suggested ?

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  11 месяцев назад +4

      Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you like it. We don't go beyond 65°C in order to prevent milk fro scalding on the bottom. However, one thing to remember if you are pouring from a latte art jug, is that a cold jug will suck a lock of the heat out of your milk as you transfer it from PRO-> Jug-> Cup. So the simple trick is to preheat your pouring jug using some boiling water while the PRO is running, then when you transfer and pour your latte art, the heat is maintained.

      @giuseppearbia 9 месяцев назад +1

      @Mandragara around 160F is what you want on a steamed cappuccino, 68c-72c is the target temp, then there will be some termal drop so the final temperature will probably be in the 65c range depending on how you preheat the tazze / bowl
      I am sure you can google around and find some confirmation or just look at the numerous thermometer, you will notice a 68-72 range but btw I am just some random Italian that steamed cappuccino few decades, each their own anyways, feel free to drink it at 55c.

      @@ryanlee6141 The impeller spins at varying speeds but there as so many tiny factors that affect the sound it will make. You may even find the sound can vary slightly over time and depending on the milk type you use. It could be vibrations form the magnetic balance of the impeller, the rhythm of the flow of milk, the viscosity of it and if the lid is placed on straight or slightly twisted. You will notice very slightly different sounds over time, yet none of these impact the performance of the product.

    Some feedback, after about 30/40 uses, motor often makes a whining noise and the is no spin , I then have to restart it and usually that works. I do wash it after each use, after few uses I do put a drop of soap and let it run to clean the mesh. Tried to manually clean the mesh, same result, it is random, it may happen twice in a row or after few cappuccinos. Also quality of foam went down. My unit gave more/larger foam as I went from 3 to 1, that doesn't seem normal? I'm using a relatively small amount of whole milk (130g) and the black flow control

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  11 месяцев назад

      Hi, as the programs go down, the aeration time is reduced so it would create les foam. The only way you would have move foam, is if you are getting accidental late aeration during the microfoaming stage. This could be due to the volume of milk being very small, but 130 should still be OK. Try to loosen the shaft from the lid a tiny bit, this can drop the impeller down about 1mm deeper into the milk and can help with tiny amounts of milk. Note that it is a reverse thread, so you need to unscrew it clockwise.

      Yes, that is correct. "OK" means it has reached 55°C and it will continue until it reaches 65°C and then stop. You can pick it up at anytime to suit your temperature preference.
