I live in espyville PA period, tuning Lake. And I very much enjoy your videos John you and your friends are very ethical hunters and I'm proud to know you.
We call 'em box stands here in Texas. As nice as I've ever seen. If it will fit through the door, we all have high back office chairs that recline. Nothing like a good nap when the rain is gently falling lol. Good luck this year. Hope to see you connect on a good one.
Great video I wish you the best of luck this season I use to live in PA and hunt there I will actually will be back in 2 weeks for archery season in Tionesta.
Wow, nice job It looks like the rebirth of the Hillside Hilton has risen from the ashes. That spot is a proven deer highway you couldn't ask for a better location.Welcome back Hillside Hilton #2🦌🦌
Nice video. I spent half the summer last year building my own enclosed tree stand. It sure is comfy with a buddy heater going. If you look on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace you might be able to find a couple swivel office chairs with arms. I have one in my stand and I can effortlessly turn to look or shoot out of any of the windows. Glad to hear you're planning more videos this year. Good luck to all of your LWO gang.
Can’t wait for that flintlock vid, hopefully one of the guys up my camp can get one in that early muzzleloader season too! Going up tonight, looking for a buck, doe, or bear. We’ll see, good luck everyone this year.
There he is!!! Good to see ya, John and glad to hear all is well. Hoping to see Andrew this season for another shirttail chronicles vid. That shakey sumbitch cracks me up. Looking forward to the next video. Peace, brother....be well.
Hey just want to let you know I'm watching from South Carolina have been following your channel for a while I'm also a subscriber I look forward to seeing you and your family hunt from the new deer stands.
Your costing me a fortune John. Lol. Every time my sons watch your videos, they get more ideas. Guess I’ll being buying hunting shanties next. Keep up the good work...
I never got around to making an update. my bees did not survive. They all died shortly after my last bee videos. Tried to catch a wild swarm on video this season but no luck. hope to catch one next season .
almost useless black birch and red maple are becoming dominant for two reasons. one is a lack of forest fires that remove thin-barked trees like black birch and red maple. two, high-grading "select cut" commercial timber harvests that remove the best timber and leave behind junk like the back birch and red maple. remove as much black birch and red maple as you can. leave the tops in bunches to shield oak seedlings from deer browse. glad to hear you are working so hard on something so meaningful
I am currently using an Sony AX-100. Good for filming deer hunting and everything else. But, tough on the arms filming myself lol. have to hold it far away just to get me in frame.
Nice! I like the color of the outside. I take it you stained it? I'm patiently waiting on some archery videos down here in the mosquito infested humidity! 8 weeks!
@@Leatherwoodoutdoors2 Yeah, that's what I figured. We can't feed the deer anytime of the year in VA. Shame. It's not baiting. Deer are too smart for that.
haha I thought this same thing when I first posted the video. I titled it Treestands. But then I asked myself the same question and then changed it to Deer Shanty.
But a couple of stands like that some years ago, get yourself a highback office or gamer chair that raises and lowers, you won't regret it. Also, anyone building something like these , I've heard cases of citations for not having blaze orange on corners of stand.
awww man John has gone full cookier cutter in his climate controlled hunting pod! What do you think about that Dale?! 2020, the year the Leatherwood Outdoors died from its death, unfortunatel
Hope to have some more videos up this season! Like and Subscribe! Thanks!

I built a couple of 6x6 and 8x8 elevated cabin stands. With my 2010 traumatic back injury, I can stay comfortable enough to stay out all day.
Looking forward to all the videos this year
Great looking stand. Looking forward to your videos.

Sweet setups! Can't wait to see a hunt from the new blinds
Hey just want to let you know I'm watching from South Carolina have been following your channel for a while I'm also a subscriber I look forward to seeing you and your family hunt from the new deer stands.
that's a nice looking stand!.
both of them!
I would actually like to hear more about your forestry project
Beautiful property! Can’t wait to see this years hunting videos, always look forward to them. Best of luck!
good to see you thank you
Wow awesome set ups!
Your costing me a fortune John. Lol. Every time my sons watch your videos, they get more ideas. Guess I’ll being buying hunting shanties next. Keep up the good work...
Lol
Had giants on the farm until about 2 days before archery started. Guess it's gonna be a long season
Good luck man I had 3 doe standing 50 yards away from me on my first ever archery hunt
I know where you got your shanties. They’re building me a bigger shed. Looks like they do great work. Being swamped is good during this mess.
Good luck this year, stands look good!
Great to see you getting ramped up for 2020/21.
What do you have planned?
How's Ron?
I do plan to try to take a doe in early muzzeloader or archery season and another during rifle. Ron is doing well.
That's really nice john 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing.
Nice good luck this season!
I wanna come up and have some of Ron’s chili! Lol
I'm in!
Good job
was there any update on the beehive and honey process? please keep the videos coming!
I never got around to making an update. my bees did not survive. They all died shortly after my last bee videos. Tried to catch a wild swarm on video this season but no luck. hope to catch one next season .
Where have you folks been I thought you got rid of me,man been a loong time, miss the both of you and all the deplorables that hunt the deer.
Great video and that edge in front of the first stand will be killer!! Question: Are you going to do anything "sound proof" the inside of the blinds?
they seem rather sound proof to me. I mean, compared to other blinds ive been in. the carpet really helps alot
Yeah this year we put in a food plot late and we had almost no growth that no rain killed us
Carpet and padding is cheap and easy to install, makes them stands a lot quieter and insulates it somewhat.

Johnny, If you get tired of that shanty, I've got the ideal location for it in southern Indiana County!
Seriously, that's a nice stand.
What camera are you using?? The landscape is so nice and clear!!!
I am currently using an Sony AX-100. Good for filming deer hunting and everything else. But, tough on the arms filming myself lol. have to hold it far away just to get me in frame.
Leatherwoodoutdoors2 I feel ya with the weight and holding your arm out! I use a tripod a lot.
Nice! I like the color of the outside. I take it you stained it? I'm patiently waiting on some archery videos down here in the mosquito infested humidity! 8 weeks!
I did not stain the upper part of it. I had them stain it. Hoping to get out soon!
Looks like a good place to get some hunting vids. Can you guys put out salt blocks, or is that a no-no?
big no no lol.
@@Leatherwoodoutdoors2 Yeah, that's what I figured. We can't feed the deer anytime of the year in VA. Shame. It's not baiting. Deer are too smart for that.
Is it still a tree stand if it isnt in a tree?? Gotta know so I can catch some deers. ;) Excited to watch your season John.
haha I thought this same thing when I first posted the video. I titled it Treestands. But then I asked myself the same question and then changed it to Deer Shanty.
How big are they in the inside? They look great!
enough to fit two people comfortably and able to stand up inside. You could squeeze three people if you really wanted but it would be tight.
You better get one for Ron. Lol
amish make those stands in pa price ?
Good to see you back. By the way why not just grow an apple tree? Maybe that’ll work.
I Could do that. But I manage more for timber value than wildlife habitat.
But a couple of stands like that some years ago, get yourself a highback office or gamer chair that raises and lowers, you won't regret it. Also, anyone building something like these , I've heard cases of citations for not having blaze orange on corners of stand.
What flintlock muzzleloader do you use?
I use a Tennessee Valley Muzzlelaoder TVM in .50 cal.
John - You NEED to like make something to raffle off people to come hunt with you. That would be EPIC
nice set up, probably going to need hearing protection!
Lets see some more waterfowl hunting plz
I was just wondering what part of Pennsylvania are you in
Clarion county
Don’t keep those extra propane tanks inside the building with the heater on
Are they birch trees or popul trees because I know popul trees are really bad
birch for sure
What size are the tree stands?
i am not sure the exact dimensions but it will fit two people comfortably. frame is 8 feet hight.
just got my liscense monday and working on a deer blind . deer beware
Are the bees ok 😢
No. The all died shortly after my last bee video. I tried to catch a swarm this season but no luck.
A lot of lumbers!
First!!!
awww man John has gone full cookier cutter in his climate controlled hunting pod! What do you think about that Dale?! 2020, the year the Leatherwood Outdoors died from its death, unfortunatel
Nice!!!
Good luck this year, stands look good!
