I'm sailing Carnival Sunshine April 14-19 2019. Balcony Stateroom on Deck 8 This will be my second Carnival Cruise. Looking forward to the restaurants and the wine vending machines.
Just sailed in July 2024. Loved it for an older ship nowadays. The maintenance and staff members are doing a great job keeping this ship looking fresh. Won’t be disappointed if you cruise on the Sunshine. It’s out of Charleston SC now, but as of Jan 2025- it’s moving to Norfolk. Booking a cruise on her for Bermuda next year.
We sailed on her June 29, it was our first cruise...loved it!!!!

Sunshine by far has the best layout for adults. The serenity is the BEST serenity area of any ship, even Waterworks is awesome for adults. If the sunshine has the T-pool in the spa it’d be absolutely perfect. Also, there are saunas in the locker rooms that are quite roomy and free as well that you don’t have to have a spa pass for

Me and my family sailed on her in Italy just after it had been refitted as the Sunshine, I think we were the fifth group to sail under the new Sunshine name? I'm not sure, It was in 2013 so it's been awhile. By far the greatest trip we ever took. We hope to travel to Europe again on the Legend in Summer 2021!

Between Sunshine and Ecstasy? Sunshine has a huge three-deck Serenity area. A lot more dining options. More lounges. The buffet is kind of crowded though. Let me know if you have any specifics. Thanks for watching.

I been trying to fun a video that fully explains the boarding process. I know about online check in and selecting a time to get to the dock. I am planning on getting there for @ 1:15-1:30. Then what to except when getting off at the end of for the cruise. Any information will help.

i know what you mean about the casino smoke. we just got off the Freedom and the smoke was horrible all throughout deck 5, the atrium area and middle elevator bank. i cant believe they cant figure out some way to contain the stench and redirect it out away from common areas.

It wasnt as good as i've had on other Carnival cruises. The buffet was normal what i had of it anyway. I was really disappointed with the escargot. The individual snails were extremely scrawny and it wasnt served in the normal dish they usually get served in. It was just tossed into a bowl. I think one of our biggest issues was the servers kept getting our steaks mixed up and had trouble getting the cooking instructions right. They seemed to keep getting the words rare and well mixed up. It was weird and frustrating at times.

We are sailing on the Sunshine next January. I believe you stated in the video that Sky Box Sports Bar was part of the casino and smoking was allowed. If this is true then this is a downer. We just sailed on the Pride and in which the Sky Box was adjacent to the casino but no smoking was allowed in it. Let me know if this is true. Thanks.

We are going on the Carnival Sunshine in May. We booked the Carnival Spa Suite on deck 12. My question is, can you get (directly) on to the Serenity Deck with out having to go back to Deck 9 and then walk up?
For the dining room on deck 3 and 4, is it complimentary food there or is it just a place to bring your food and eat

I’m curious to see what carnival does with this ship long term. In 2026, this ship will be 30 years old. Carnival has a history of selling off its ships that are 20-30+ years old. We’ll see what the industry is like in 2026. I get the impression that carnival may prolong the life of this ship though. While finances and the cost of maintenance for old ships are always things to consider, as well as how many ships they have in the fleet as they keep building newer ships. How this ship differs from
Many of their old ships they sold off (tropicale, holiday, celebration, fantasy, etc) is it has rows and rows of balconies, and relatively large staterooms. As well as many floors full of balconies. It’s a big ship that otherwise keeps up with the current cruising market. Sure it’s not the Harmony of the Seas, but it’s still a big ship. One of the main reasons the tropicale, holiday, jubilee and celebration were sold off after the 20+ year mark is due to the size of the ships, lack of balconies which became a high demand in cruising, and staterooms sizes. The fantasy class ships met the same fate for similar reasons. While they have balconies now, those were all added on later and there weren’t many added.

@@CruiseRadio Well I was a dad with 3 kids and mostly hanged out on the lido deck in the back. They had pools ice cream and burgers. I bought a bucket of beer and watched the wash of the props behind the ship. The munchkins were happy so we had a good 7 days

It's changed so much since 2016...
I remember like it was yesterday walking out in your swimsuit cover and your brand new swimsuit feeling the wind in your hair and feeling how your swimsuit cover softly waves up and down in the wind like the ocean waves as you smell the natural ocean sent you feel free, then you'd take off your swimsuit cover up and feel the wind on your skin as you feel the oddly satisfaction of the cold sunscreen but it's also blunt do to the warm sun as you put on your full face swim mask you got for Christmas and you remember the sweet smell of the Christmas tree and the joy you felt, you'd go onto the steps of the pool as you feel the warm water on your skin..and you wish that could last forever...ah I miss those days anyways you are loved you are wanted I hope you have a amazing day/night and life you are blessed you are beautiful I love you!❤️

Planning on sailing on the Sunshine next year, thinking about getting an extended balcony aft cabin. One they offered was on deck 8, one consern I had was possible noise from the Havana bar area above it on deck 9. Does anyone know what the hours are of the Havana bar area?
AFAIR I am not sure about noise for the cabins but deck 9 LIDO is also a party place and bar basically starts to work at the evening unlike the bar in the serenity area which usually closed around 7pm

I just got off of the Sunshine. The smoke in the casino is horrible. The door between the casino and sports bar is gone. People sit right there and smoke. It's worse when they smoke cigars.

There are two. The main pool on the Lido Deck, and the Serenity Pool. Thanks for watching!
The Sunshine sadly has several very poorly designed areas. Lido buffet area is horrible during most meal times. You soon learn to either arrive 30+ minutes early for a comedy show (or give up trying to attend). And the casino is so poorly designed as far as smoking/nonsmoking the entire deck ends up smelling like a pool hall every night. And by extension, you do too. The extra decks they've added have also added complexity because most of the elevators weren't extended to go to those decks. If you need an elevator to get to your Spa deck cabin, you'll be waiting for a while.
Outside of that it's a beautiful ship. The Serenity area is like something you'd see at a fancy all-inclusive resort. I have not cruised on her sisters the Sunrise or Radiance but I have heard that they've fixed some of these issues with those ships, hopefully they end up backporting some of those fixes to Sunshine as well.
You talked about everything on this ship, EXCEPT FOR CLUB O2, (THE TEEN CLUB).
