@@brockclouser1500 Yes well grip is a little more important when your flying across the desert at 60 miles an hour. Cruising down a boulevard with your women on the back isn't quite as concerning when your hands get numb..... And the woman probably likes it ;-)

Besides that, down shifting to a stops etc is fine and has never blown up a motor( I've over revved the shit out my 125 plenty times downshifting landing on jumps etc never blew up) Main thing with a 2 stroke is to let it warm properly before ripping it
@@richi__1768 nah mainly the piston rings and cylinder need to heat up and expand to have the right tolerance, or u will catch a ring on an exhaust port or seize a piston, its not an issue on most 4 strokes cuz they have separate oil lubrication, no ports, etc
You're right. Excessive coasting on a premix bike doesn't do it any favours simply because it's being used in a way it wasn't designed. But there's not much you can do aside from freewheeling everywhere. You just need to keep an eye on the top end.

You arent going to blow it up with engine braking as long as your jetting is good. Ive been riding, and engine braking, 2-strokes for 30 years and have never had any issue ever. Use good gas, good oil, and proper jetting, and you won't have issues either.
agree most of the time people ruin ther engine is the jetting is lean to start with in the serch for performance that only show on dyno. go with little on the fat side on jetting and let it be better for the engine.
@@extec101 yup, if ur running that bitch lean you shouldn't engine brake it, i run my bike a lil lean so i don't engine brake, it's based on jetting, and new tpi bikes dont need to have the clutch pulled in either

As long as you mix the oil rich enough to maintain oil presence of a bit during engine braking, you're all good. Worse case scenario you just have slightly shortened ring lifespan. There isn't much side loading on the piston during engine braking.
had a '93 version with CBR wheels on it, this bike doesn't like the grip on asfalt. But it does like to wheelie... Ones all 6 rear sprocket bolts just broke of during a ride.
