- I've been wanting to do this for awhile!
With these noises it's sure hard to keep my foot of the gas!
Intake related mods:
Green Filter
Depo Racing intake
Boomba BOV (routed to true vacuum)
I know this is an old video, but I got mine with an Injen intake already on it, and I thought it was leaking boost lol, but I hear the same "Whooshing" noise before the BOV closes, so I'm glad it's just normal noises!
That's the turbo spooling . Good noises 😀😀
The turbo whistle is unmatched
Gotta love the good ol stock turbo sounds! This sound is very easy to get with a high flow drop in filter and cover off along with tuning which amplifies it more.
That’s how mine used to sound 😢 I miss my st
I’d imagine that becomes very annoying and even more so when the turbos gone bad
Perfect intake sound.. really love it.
Are you on stock exhaust?
Hi! Catless with an MBRP steel exhaust. I have since upgraded to a Mountune cat-back. The MBRP gradually got insanely loud over time and I couldn't take it anymore lol.
Same thing is happening to my catless mbrp like what makes it do that? Leaks? @@ReaganReese
Wow bro I’ve tried to get this sound for a long time now what bov do you have ? Or is it the mods that you have that make it sound like that it’s amazing
Hi! I'm just using a Boomba BOV routed to true vacuum. The intake system is super simple, just a green filter with a depo racing intake. The insulation has also been removed from the hood as well. That made the biggest difference for sure! I have since put it back since I was getting tired of it lol!
Another thing to consider is my elevation, I'm at about 4,400 feet above sea level so the BOV naturally stays closed more than it would at a lower level.
Want even more closed-throttle surge? Upgrade your intercooler, cold and hot side charge pipes, too. It gets the stock turbo pretty loud.
Love it!!
Could you send me the link to buy that turbo for my Focus st? Do you think it is better than the turboSmart?
Sounds like a boomba. Turbosmart is just as good. Dif sound
You can also get a cold side or hot side charge pipe with a flange for an HKS Super Sequential BOV or TIAL BOV, both are popular choices.
How did you get it to flutter?
Sounds amazing! Is this the stock turbo?
Thank you! It is!
Do you push any oil or make any oil contact doing this though
I want this sound with an Rs how would I go about this
How much louder was intake after removing the pad on the hood
Significantly louder. Try it! It's super easy to take the clips out. I have since put it back, I was getting tired of it lol!
I took mine out after installing a ram air intake system and was much much louder 👍🏼
What pad?
@@scottmoody7052 Hood insulation, its meant to reduce the noise in the cabin from your engine
My dream in life is to be you
How much boost ??
Bro this is amazing but how you got this flutter sound can you explain please?
Other videos said you must block the valve which is unacceptable tbh !
Thank you! It’s just routed to true vacuum is all here. I think it has something to do with the spring pressure and my elevation. I’m at about 4.4k feet so it takes more effort for the spring to disengage. It really only opens if the throttle blade is shut over 3k rpm. Anything under that rpm, the vacuum isn’t enough to open the valve.
If you want a MUCH louder intake, take out your foam hood liner. It’s super easy!
Remember too that I’m using a second mic in the engine bay, but it does still make all of these sounds!
@@ReaganReese thank you, I would try that
Rip turbo
Eventually, with this setup, yes, because it's closed-throttle surging. But it takes a long time for that to have a detrimental effect.
The only way i got mine to do this is with a stock diverter valve or any diverter valve. the 50/50 or any that have vent to atmosphere doesnt fludder much
So where do you vent it to?
@@llewellyngovender9308 it vents back to the intake manifold where the sound symposer goes
Is the bov routed to true vacuum?
Yes
How do u get that flutter 😊
Not enough air to get through the bov at lower rpms so it's sucked back into the turbo. Probably a boomba bov symposer delete and a vacuum line
Is that a stock turbo?
Yes
