Instead of building upon the first movie's success, I think that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will ruin the Black Panther franchise. I don't wanna see that little string bean Shuri as Black Panther. I wanna see King T'Challa as Black Panther. They really should have recast the role of King T'Challa.
I think we can all agree why they didn't recast T’Challa: money, popularity and jealousy. I've always stated that when they first announced that they would have brought into a liv-action the first Black Superhero, they couldn't imagine the biggest impact on Civil War made by the Russos. They were the best directors for the first movie. As I said Ryan Coogler was lucky enough because I think they wanted a Black director and I'm sure he was the only first name brought up once they could have chosen any other Black director and the movie would have much T’Challa -centric and would make anyway the same billion dollars or even more. The Russos brought up the character alive with his skills, agility, and fearless. He was the best T’Challa ever! While in his own movie we couldn't see any intellectual characteristics or fighting skills comparing on Civil war, with that horrible CGI in the cave. Why spending so much money on a horrible computer fight cat scene, when they should have gone with a classic hand to hand fight combat like Winter Soldier and maybe fighting in the river for a round two with suits. The cooler is a disgrace, ruined the only Black male scientist, martial artist, politician and richest character in the Superhero comics. I think Marvel wasn't aspected all this enormous popularity Black Panther overshadowed all the other heroes, in fact beside the Avengers that are an assemble team up, BP is the most successful, if T’Challa was in the sequel would have done at least 1 billion and half for sure. Only the last Spiderman has earned nearly 2 billions but they used 3 Parkers. I think Sony was even jealous of the first introduction of T’Challa that’s why they push a Spiderman movie every 2 years. If we didn't wait so long, BP2 would have been in 2020 not every 4 years. That's why I like Sony, but I think even to push the popularity of the characters in people’s day life. Black Panther was a huge Cultural phenomenon that Disney scared of, because they would have paid a big cash of money to Boseman and they didn't want to have another Robert Downey Jr, that's why they give us that shitty story of the mantle to delegitimize any Black Male interested on the role, while Black Panther was always about T’Challa. Chadwick Boseman was upset at the time were considering to replace him already because of his contract and also because they wanted to push Shuri in the second movie, while he was stated that he could not have a trilogy because he signed for 5 movies. They are trying to rebrand the Black Panther brand into the Wakanda Universe, instead of the man T’Challa, so they could pay less the actor and keep switch the Panther mantle with no respect. Another point is theydon't push the recast because T’Challa is the best representation of Black excellence and masculinity. The white- fragility complex is there: why give spotlight for a Black character that is one of the richest, among of ten smartest person in the world, best martial artist and the only Black Character that could seat at the same table as Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Hank Pyam, Dr Strange, Xavier. He would've naturally been one of the new faces of the MCU against Kang, he would give a strategic war plans and financial and technical support. That's why they push Shuri because she's a woman and she's not a threat for a white male protagonist. She will be a sidekick anyway the nerdy one, so it's ok for Disney. T’Challa was becoming very popular and this was not good at all.
