    The safety is a 3 position so you can unload the chamber while still having the safety on. At first, I thought it was a defect but I've come to use it a lot more, especially when I'm showing the rifle to someone.

You mentioned the Leupold 59245 2-piece bases as having 20 moa built in but I can't see that written any where on the box or on the Leupold web site. I would love to stay with 2 piece bases but I want 20 MOA. Where do you see that those bases have 20 moa ?? thank you

Feel free to changemymind. The main concern I had before you helped me finalize my decision was the scope mounts. You cleared that up right away! Also, very good intro to your video. I heard the accu-stock with AL bedding would have added another pound to the rig. I think they are taking a swipe at Christensen Arms, only other 5.8lb rifle with a carbon fiber barrel. Same weight, carbon barrel, and same sub MOA guarentee (or claim) for $1,000 less. Its bold.

      @minutemanprep  3 года назад +1

      @@anubis8680 I think you're right. But one thing that I thought was interesting when I went into my local gun shop the other day, there were DOZENS of Christensen Arms rifles on the rack but nearly nothing else. Seriously, the entire wall was mostly bare except a whole slew of Christensen Arms rifles. I went to another store that has an even bigger selection of guns and they had more rifles but yet again, a huge section of Christensen Arms rifles. I wonder if the price is too high for most people's interest or maybe C.A. had a huge distributor sale or something.

    • @minutemanprep
      @minutemanprep  3 года назад

      You're welcome to send me the info to minutemanprep@gmail.com. Height is determined by the comb (cheek rest) height for the most part. I prefer to have my scope as low as possible so there is less of a difference between the center height of the barrel and center height of my scope, but it's by no means a requirement. The height simply needs to be comfortable for you to shoot. Your eye should natrually line up to where there is no dark shading either on top or on bottom. This is why Savage sends extra comb height pieces with the rifle to adjust that.

    I have the same exact gun but the grey and black stock with a leupold vx6hd shoots 1/2” groups all day with eld x but I was wondering why put a break on a 6.5? I understand a suppressor I want to get one for mine soon but just seems pointless on a caliber that doesn’t kick. Might just be me but I hate how loud muzzle breaks are and only use them if it’s a bigger caliber. Another question does the action ever get better? That’s the one thing I dislike about the gun everything else I love. I’ve only put 2 boxes through it so I’m hoping it will get better but when you ran the action I could tell yours is just like mine. Just doesn’t seem very smooth almost rough

    Another test with a 6.5 Creedmoor. These companies love using a target round to test there rifles, low recoil easy shooting and inherently accurate. The real test is how these lightweight guns handle 30-06, 7mm magnums and 300 magnums. These ultralites are performing poorly with these big calibers, they are getting poor reviews. I thought about an ultralite in 300 wsm but way to many issues, chamber issues, sloppy actions. Your basically putting a $800.00 barrel on a sub par action. Just get a Tikka lite or Superlite for $799 "KISS" ( Keep it simple stupid)

    • @EnkeiTenjin
      @EnkeiTenjin 3 года назад

      This action is pretty excellent actually. I am also onboard however about how the companies test their rifles in 6.5cm only. It is nearly cheating yes.

    • @leeeng478
      @leeeng478 3 года назад

      @@EnkeiTenjin I doubt the Savage is nearly as smooth as the Browning or Tikka actions! Everywhere retailer I see Ultralights in 300 WSM on sale but they are not moving off the shelf? Tikka's and Browning's fly off the shelf and are sold out within 48 hours in 300 wsm. People are having issues with there 300 wsm's in the Savage Ultralight. I have a 270 Win and 30-06 in Savages, Stevens Mod 200 both weapons are accurate. The 270 does not like Copper bullets and shows pressure signs. I have replaced the ejector, extractor, and bolt head due to an incident with off the shelf Federal Coppers blowing out primers. All lead core ammo no problem. Did a head space check and no problems all in spec with the go and nogo gage. I have yet to test some ammo to see if the issue has been resolved? After doing research on bloggs other people having similar issues with Savages. Definitely not going to roll the dice and hope for the best on a $1400 rifle.

      2 of them went back because the bolt faces were burnt and scared from test rounds. poor quality control..third one was ok and shot

      I had a Savage 10T with the Accustock, it was a tack driver in 308, but the heavy barrel was not pratical for hunting (11.5 lbs).
      I sold it and bought a Savage 110 in 300 Win Mag caliber , but the one without the Accustock (Savage 110 XP Hunter package, a cheap version of the 110).
      I did not liked it, the stock was a bit flimsy and not free floating.
      I sold it a month after.
