  • Parental leave enables parents to take time off work to look after their child. Parental benefit allows you as parent to be free from work and receive benefit over longer continuous periods, taking whole days or parts of days.
    If you live and work in Sweden, you generally earn the right to parental benefit in Sweden. Sweden is famously known for its parental pay structure and how both parents get the equal allowance which encourages male partners to be part of childcare.
    In this video I have explained in detail about sweden’s parental benefit. Please do watch the complete video & share ur feedback about sweden’s parental leaves.

    Hi, Thank you for informative video.
    I have few questions:
    1. For long one can go to India while on parental leaves.
    2. Will making an exit from Sweden for 3-4 months affect the PR application?
    3. For how long you went to India?
    4. Can me and my partner can take benefit of parental leave at the same time, if so, how long?
    Thanks in advance

      2.Yes
      3. We went for approx 1month
      4. Yes, you can take 60 double days
      Thanks!

    Great video, thank you. 1116/day is very low for professionals such as in IT.
    Is the rest "usually" paid by the company that the parent is working for? I guess it depends on the employment contract of the parent. Then, the companies can exploit this because foreigners might easily miss this detail. What do you think?

    • @Pranalee-NewGirl-inTown
      @Pranalee-NewGirl-inTown  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, 1116/day can low if u r earning good , depends on ur salary ..
      it is paid by forsakringskassan which is swedish social insurance agency ( basically paid by government).

    Thank you for posting such an informative video . I have question regarding this topic, what if someone who has worked for more than 240 consecutive days in Sweden , decides to have their baby in India? How can they apply for it ?

    • @Pranalee-NewGirl-inTown
      @Pranalee-NewGirl-inTown  8 месяцев назад

      You can have baby anywhere you want - but to avail the parental benefits-you and your newborn should have resident permit. You also need to be in Sweden orelse you need to inform FK about your whereabouts if you plan to stay in India for longer time. Thanks!

    It's a great and very useful video. Thanks for your great work🎉 We are expecting a baby on May 3rd. I am planning to take parental leave from April 8. So if i want to apply should i apply now for only before child birth? Then apply for take care of child after applying RP for child?

      Thanks & Congratulations .. if u r planning to take parental leaves before child then u can apply 2months prior to due date ( in ur case u can apply from 3rd march until the childbirth.. )
      U also need to separately apply after childbirth once u hv the RP

    How long can someone travel to India on parental leave without risking Visa or PR( to be applied later)?

    • @Pranalee-NewGirl-inTown
      @Pranalee-NewGirl-inTown  Месяц назад

      If you stay for longer duration then better to inform FK first. If FK withdraws your parental pay then your PR gets impacted. Your stay in sweden is must for Citizenship so every year 6 weeks is okay outside of Sweden( i have heard it several times but never checked on exact rule around it), Thanks.

      There’s no specific details about how many days u can travel n stay out of Sweden to avail the parental benefits.. but based on forsakringskassan u should-be in Sweden to avail the benefits .. its best to call them n get it clarified..

      Do u mean If u r working on weekdays n apply only for allowance on weekend’s??
      If u r working 100% n withdrawing (100%) salary then u r not eligible for parental benefits.. usually when u go on parental leave ur employer informs to forskringskasssan n u don’t get salary from employer but u get allowance from insurance agency..

      It’s the same process by which you apply for yourself. For our baby, it was applied by my husband’s company.
      If you have to apply on your own, then visit immigration website or contact them for process. BTW, There are very few documents required for it. Thanks.

    Hi,
    when the father apply for 10 days leave during child birth, is it also necessary to apply for childs residence permit to get that benefit?
    or I can apply residence permit later after getting home and get benefit from the first day ~

    • @Pranalee-NewGirl-inTown
      @Pranalee-NewGirl-inTown  4 месяца назад

      Yes, post child birth if you have to avail any parental benefit then the child needs residence permit application submitted. The mother can take parental leave 2 months before the child birth but as soon as the child is born, you need to have the application in place. Thanks.

      I suggest to keep prepare all the required document before hand - as you dont need passport to make an application for your child. Plus instead of starting with parental leaves - utilise your vacation days. We applied after 10 days from birth of baby- till then we took vacation days. No need to be stressed about it- plan in advance. Thanks
