@@iblame_nargles On 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross', BBC One, 2nd July 2010, Tim sang about wanting to "do" Wossy's wife. Video should be searchable, is very funny, highly recommended!
TheGladeGirl My (now ex) boyfriend introduced me to him. He showed me the song Prejudice which I found funny, but some of the titles made me think "oh god". I listened to "5 Poofs and 1 Piano" and "Song for Wossy" and thought "okay they aren't as bad as I thought". So I went on to listen to a few more and just ended up listening to more or less returning he's written that's on RUclips.
sseinfeld95 Fun fact: The Actor that plays Jessie Pinkman? You've seen him before as a kid. Most people don't put two and two together. He played Malcom in Malcom in the Middle. Fun fact 2: The actor that plays Walter White, plays Malcom's father in Malcom in the Middle.
Your first "fun fact" is an "alternative fact". Jesse was played by Aaron Paul, Malcolm by Frankie Muniz. The second fact is true, but everyone already knew that one.
I don't know how I missed this 'til this week. This is hilarious. Tim, you outdid yourself on this one. Now I can't get the damn song out of my head. Hilarious!
I was today years old when I finally realised that “it’s just like 1984” is a reference to the novel. You’d think I’d get that earlier considering the final verse is literally about George Orwell.
#timminchin Mate! watched and listened to you for over 10yrs and the Hat really freaking freaked me out🤷♀️ 😅🤣🥰 never seen you wear one b4 lol love all you songs know them all and I'm a redhead too lols 😇🏴💙 and I'm A Christian ✝️ 😇🤗
I'm with you +TimMichin This CCTV camera world is just like 1984 and I hate it. There is no privacy. Soon tiny drones will be flying past our homes recording video.
Willem Cohen what's odd about them being in the same video? Could someone enlighten me? Check also the episode of 8 out of 10 cats (aired 10/08/2010) hosted by Jimmy, with Timmy as guest, here's the first part: watch?v=Vn2c0ud15_w
Anna Kavka They're two really funny comedians that kind of run in different circles. I'm a huge fan of the both of them, but I never thought I would be able to see them work together.
lmao... I "discovered" Tim Minchin a few days ago on youtube (Storm), but have had this feeling that I recognised him from somewhere (both face and voice)....within no more than 5 seconds of this vid, I realised this tv show is where I'd seen him first and subsequently, where I knew him from originally. Hilarious guy. Watched about half dozen vids so far and not a single one has failed to make me laugh. Great stuff. Don't think it's possible to top Storm though, but I hope he keeps trying! ;)
Just curious, i apologize for necro-posting, but what do you think of Tim 11 years later? With the musicals, tv show, animated movie, on top of the new album?
Wow, trip down memory lane for me, remembering when I first discovered Tim minchin! Still think he’s an awesome performer and have loved seeing his various stage shows, although sadly never in person. He’s also been pretty good on a variety of panel shows and the like, and still absolutely love storm! Safe to say 11 years later, whenever I see him on tv or hear any of his stuff, it’s always a good thing as far as I’m concerned. I didn’t know about an animated movie, I’ll have to look for that, so thanks!
I would like there to be a CD of all his random songs that are not part of his shows: Donnie Darko, Angry (Feet), and this included. I would certainly buy that!
I know this is a reworked version of one of his other songs, but I don't know which one. I'm trying to decide if it's worth listening to everything he's ever done just to find that one.
FYI, the 1984 reference is by the author George Orwell who wrote the book "1984" about the what if's of the spread of communism back before WW2 began. read it, its worth your time.
"No butt plugs" is the one lyric that constantly just ends up in my train of thought during the day.
I love the look on John Ross's face at the end, it's all like: "That's the guy that wants to do my wife. Grr."
I came here to say this.
@@sabinrawr what is this in reference to?

this was the first song i heard from Tim minchin.... This doesn't even scratch his talent. He is talented. Thank You God....
For fixing the catarats of sam's mom.
This was also my first song of Tim's, im glad i searched his name
JustDave And if you pull that off, without a hitch, he'll fix the eye of some middle class white bitch
JustDave
his piano skill in 'Dark Side' ... wow
JustDave Thank you God... Thank you God, for saving the cataracts of Sam's Mom!
They asked him to write a question and he wrote a song instead. For that, I give this 10/10
Never realized that he isn't even trying to pretend that he's playing the piano.
+Novacification Which is really funny, since he is a really good pianist.
lol nice i never noticed either
My life is not the same any more.
+MrDUneven Hes just pretending cause its a music video. Hes an incredible pianist.
Well thanks haha never noticed
The goat impression gets me every time.
Thank God I found Tim Minchin.

Don't forget to also thank him for fixing the cataracts of Sam's mom ;)
Thank Tim Minchin I found god XD
He kinda looks like Jesse Pinkman with that beanie on.
Oh yes he does!! Ha. Lol!!

haha i can't begin to imagine him as malcom
That Charlie Brooker, the creator and writer of "Black Mirror" was there for this seems very apt indeed
*YOU JUST BLEW MY FUCKING MIND!*
Oh, "Black Mirror", not _"Black Mirror"_
Good. Now I can stop humming 'come back cardinal Pell' and do this one instead. Tim is a brilliant muso and a all round clever bastard.
Did it work? I'm still humming it.
im so in love with his voice, hes a really good singer... and his lyrics are so clever... he just really impresses me more and more each day
first time i ever saw this when he came on going "yeah yeah" it made me spit my drink out
"no butt plugs" ROFL
Tim Minchin is a genius, no doubt about it!
That Goat Laugh though
SNL Jim Breuer, anybody? In the 90s? "Goat Boy", y'all.
I don't know how I missed this 'til this week. This is hilarious. Tim, you outdid yourself on this one. Now I can't get the damn song out of my head. Hilarious!
Yeahhh, No butt plugs
0:09 the gaze of Jonathan... he really loves Tim
And Tim really loves Jonathan......'s wife ;)
i love the melody and the way the words fit in "it's just like 1984" that bit could be turned into an entire song on its own!
tim needs to actually go on the show and be on noel fielding's team i would LOVE it and be super excited to watch
I really want to know the answers these people had!
The full quizzes are all on RUclips if you search for them.
Look up the big fat quiz of 2009 for the whole show.
Wossy and Brand Had google maps (and weren't given a point, which enraged them)
Mitchell, Winkleman, Brooker, and Brydon all got street view
I was today years old when I finally realised that “it’s just like 1984” is a reference to the novel. You’d think I’d get that earlier considering the final verse is literally about George Orwell.
Gangster Tim is the best Tim
Luna Jane You mean Gangster Goat Tim.
I clicked thumbs up but I don't agree. I love Gangster Tim but I like better atheist Tim (Not Perfect) perfect Tim.

Music is just fantastic. WOw cant stop listening to it :)
Can't.. Stop.. Listening..
Tim Minchin is my celebrity/cerebral/composition king crush.
Saw him live yesterday...EPIC
Always great talent!!
Quite a catchy song and Tim is quite talented, but at this point it is weird thinking of Google Street view being controversial
I just wrote an essay last week on Google Earth's relativity to Orwell's 1984
I saw the Google Car today and came across this video (so to speak) by accident. Serendipitous. Thanks for sharing Tim; it's a corker :)
big fat quiz of the year should be more than once a year... it's probably the best quiz out there!
YOU ROCK!
love you tim!
from portugal
We're meant to be together
I'll be there and you'll be near
And that's the deal my dear
I forgot how good this one is, had me laughing quite a bit :D
This has become my favourite song of all time.
@MikeEmery9 Just want to say, I bloody love you for that comeback. You are my hero.
Catchy as fuck
Tim Minchin's songs are on average better than everything in the charts.
best "question" on the show ever - the most creative one at least.. more people shoud do that
@greatfelixo thank you.. I must have forgotten to read the title of the video before I clicked on it
I have to agree with tim google street view does throw in a 1984 theme to life, Big Brother is always watching
He has got great turns of phrase does our Tim Minchin
Incredible - simple melody and sooo nice :-)
One of my personal favorites.
I'm starting to think if we asked Tim to figure out what '42' is the answer to, he could figure it out.
.......I need those pants
Awesome!
Hoping theres a full version of this song..Catchy song, Mr Tim
Oh tim minchin, you've outdone yourself this time
tim minchin is so funny and what a great rapper he makes
I'm with you +TimMichin This CCTV camera world is just like 1984 and I hate it. There is no privacy. Soon tiny drones will be flying past our homes recording video.
Yeah yeah yeah. B)
yet another fun track
Brilliant, he is so good!!!
I have been watching this so many times and laugh every time xD
i didn't get it until you reminded me of the book, so thank you :)
The structure of a song repeats its self so every song does repeat stuff again and again not just this one
That really is Brilliant
YOU ARE TRUE GENIOUS TIM!!!
Tim's been nominated for the ARIA Award!! Thumbs up for him winning! :)
MILDLY AMUSED SMIRK as opposed to LAUGH OUT LOUD....
Absolutely love Tim Minchin :D & his 'Mildly Amused Smirk' shirt!
It's stuck in my head...
haha,
i remember watching this on tv and was pissin myself laughing at this tune.
nice one tim :)
Tim Minchin and Jimmy Carr in the same video!?!
Yup..
Old comment I know, but search for 'Jimmy Carr Tim Minchin The Green Room', you won't be disappointed :)

best line and best delivery ever!
He's remarkable.
love you in the face...twice
Lol love it! I miss UK tellie
@frilloz4 don't want to be pedantic but it was written in 1949- four years after the end of WW2
1984well... clever portmanteau Mr Minchin!
I wish I could have seen if they got the answer!
A TV show requested Minchin's song is better than most of the crap some artists takes years to compose.
@TheSevenStrikes I love both. His humour is really witty and smart, and I love that.
I know this is a reworked version of one of his other songs, but I don't know which one. I'm trying to decide if it's worth listening to everything he's ever done just to find that one.
It's not, actually. But it still is, actually.
also some germans (ok, it's probably just me, i don't know anyone who doesn't answer who the heck is tim minchin?!) love you and your music :D
When I first saw this we had just finished studing the book in english it was very amusing
Mmmmh, bunch of my favourite people all in the same room. Tim Minchin being #1, probably. Kinda tied with David Mitchell.
oh I already saw this when I watched Big Fat Quiz of The Year.. I love David Mitchell
my mom showed you to me... you are freakin' amazinn dude!! i love the one about Jesus ..... and i love your zebra pants!!

@duryduty lol, ive spoken english all my life yet i still manage to fail at it! Im agreeing with ya, i wish i knew. lol.
Haha i never really got it before, i just read the book :P "1984" Makes the song so much better!!
Certainly worth a read. Have you read Animal Farm? 1984 is like an extended version in a more grim setting.
