RAF Shawbury MK1 Apache Final Flypast

  • Today saw the final flight of 4 Army Air Corps MK 1 Apache attack Helicopters. The flypasts took place over 15 locations in the UK and started in Holland. Here we see the flight call sign ‘Yeti 1' on their flypast over the historic RAF Shawbury one of the oldest RAF bases still in use having opened in 1917 as a Royal Flying Corps airfield and having a long connection with Helicopter flying and the Apache.We were also treated to the flight landing then a spectacular departure. Enjoy this historic moment.

    The Apache has been in existence now for over 40 + years.. And they ain't nothing coming to replace its design.

    Ive heard they are going to be upgrading them to the AH-64E model, so some of the apaches might be remaining in the british army

      Yeah that’s correct it’s only MK 1 D models that were retired on Monday the Army had ordered 30 new E models so the Apache is going to be around for many years to come 😀👍
