  • Today on Nutty Productions we are exploring Chiang Kai-shek's authoritarian rule. We will unravel the courageous stories of those who dared to resist, like Taiwanese author Bo Yang, who faced imprisonment for his satire of the regime.
    Despite the darkness of its past, Taiwan also experienced an economic miracle, rising from oppression to become one of Asia's strongest economies. But amidst its success lies a tense relationship with mainland China, fraught with historical tensions and uncertainty.

    03:09 fancy the Japanese during WWII, who were prone to beheading people, taking offence at head hunting.

    So... you can show actual photographs of severed heads, but you blur a woman's breasts (12:53) in a DRAWING? I don't suggest censoring the heads. How about letting us see both? I think we can handle it.

      Maori people are Austronesian. They're ancestors are from Taiwanese tribes. With that said, Taiwan was never part of China, just an occupation under a different Chinese government.

    • @kawanahemi261
      @kawanahemi261 4 месяца назад

      @@hangten1904 Maori are Polynesians, with their own distinct culture, they have their own language, belief system and customs, just because they descend from ancient Taiwanese people doesn't make them Taiwanese, if that's the case then all Taiwanese people are actually Africans, since all humans descend from Africans.

      @Based_Gigachad_001 in the present, Taiwan IS China. The Chinese government as wel as those that didn't want to live as slaves escaped to Taiwan, and the Communist Party conquered everything else, creating the PRC.

    I’m old enough to remember when a “Made in Japan” or “Made in Taiwan” stamp was synonymous with ultra low quality, not worth owning. Just like Amazon products today. “Made in USA” products were an infinitely better value, and were actually available universally. Hard to imagine, I know. US manufactured products (except UAW made) are nearly impossible to find today. One by one, they moved production to nations with awful living and working conditions and most importantly free from crushing EPA regulations. The pollution got much worse, but it just relocated, as if it doesn’t exist anymore.
    After the latest UAW strike automotive manufacturing will have to move a couple thousand miles southwest of Detroit. Thanks guys, now I’ll finally be able to buy a foreign brand of vehicle if I feel like it. A $150,000 to $200,000 a year job with insane benefits for braindead work just wasn’t enough, but I’m sure you’ll find something to do after the Big 3 vacate.

    The native taiwanese are very similar to the igorots in the northern Philippines, their traditional costumes and their history of head hunting tradition. Also i didnt know that Taiwan also have Ivatan tribe population.

    FYI: The man's name is Chiang Kai-shek, Chang being his surname and Kai-Shek is his first name. Your calling him 'Kai-Shek' would be like an Asian person calling you 'Tony' or 'Bob' instead of 'Smith' or Mr. Smith.

      Commonality does not exclude creepyness. Many if not a majority of nations had periods of widespread cannibalism in history, yet we don't dismiss cannibalism as simply mundane.
