It's pretty fun and unusual to see Wagner speaking in english so fluently and acting in a Hollywood film. I've met him personally, we're from the same city, I grew up watching him. There he goes!
Vagner is an amazing human being. I feel glad he's getting recognition now and acting in major roles.

I saw this film today. What an incredible job they did with the sound design. I also loved the juxtapositions of beautiful, serene footage of the characters driving through the gorgeous American countryside, with grim and chaotic war scenes. I think the cast was great overall, but Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemmons gave the most electrifying performances. Alex Garland did a great job with this picture.
Garland gave an interview and he said, and I paraphrase....'extremism problems are the result of popularism' no need to say anything more about what the film is about
The scene after this is completely horrifying. They get to a Starbucks and it's not open.

The version I watched was slightly different: one of the characters was having a diarrhoea but the toilet at the Starbucks was locked, the horrors!

Incredible movie, I saw it today. I am totally blown away by how good this was.
Garland is truly one of the greatest directors of modern cinema, and straight up one of the best screenplay writers ever.
I love every film he's either written or directed, and Devs is among my favourite TV series. If he's involved in a production, I'm gonna see it without any hesitation!

This movie was a visceral in your face drama action anxiety fuelled story set in a possible American future. It doesnt need the politics and leaves us not talking sides except the main characters. I know people say its like this and that but for me it was also like vertigo comic series the DMZ.. which i loved!
Had me thinking that scene in the trailers with Cailee Spaney was being taken by crazy hillbillies.
Hearing what the director had to do JUST keep that “Driving Scene” in the movie and it making sense. Just make me appreciate this film even more.

As a humanitarian worker served in war zone before this movie brings back flashbacks for me. Very real except I am with fellow humanitarian workers not journalists.
I wasn't expecting what happened next. I thought it was just going to be something simple like he lost control of the car and flipped.

Great movie, but this is the one scene I didn't buy -- her jumping in the car seemed so silly/unrealistic to me.
She was 23. Feels like a Young person would do
Aside from being 23 and full of passion she was also in the same car for weeks, maybe a change in setting is what made her do it. She wanted it too badly unfortunately

This movie had a lot of missing parts, Didn’t show how this movie started out. Maybe a part 2? There was not even scenes of people looting😮? Much needed for improvement!
I think if it had the kind of start you would like, it would be very tiring. There is no need to make a film about how the civil war started because you can already see that this is due to the polarization of the two sides. The film is self-explanatory.

This movie being called "Great" is CAP, in my opinion. It should be on Tubi or streaming on PBS for free.

@brendtbarbur2318 I did, and it should have been titled " War Photos " I thought Kirsten and Caley were great. But the build up to the movie was like a bait n switch in my opinion. It was a road trip movie with some intense scenes. The movie left me empty, then again I'm 60 and I've seen movies very similar to this. The cinematography at times was awesome but it wasn't consistent due to its budget. This movie is already polarizing you either love it or hate it. And maybe that's why they named it Civil War.
What other films have you seen similar that you believe are better?
Make a movie about what is happening now where shoplifting is practically legal and the law protects the criminals leading for stores to close down as of today

Wife and I saw this movie yesterday 4/14/24 and I'm sorry but we both at some point during the movie fell asleep. Sure there were some intense scenes in the movie and some good acting but it just didn't grab and hold our attention. Not a movie we would recommend.
Agree, I literally didn’t care about any character in this movie. When some of them died, i had zero empathy. Acting and character development became so bad in recent movies 😻👎🏻

Disappointed in this movie … this movie is more about the life of a war photographer/journalist instead of an actual civil war. Definitely needed more civil war scenes but instead you get a bunch of scenes thrown together in this messy movie.
It’s not marvel’s civil war, it’s “civil war” as the headline you read in newspapers
Wife and I were also disappointed, couldn't keep us awake at times. Not sure what everyone else was watching, I guess that just goes to show we all have our own views and thoughts.

The trailer and promotion left literally no doubt as to the main characters being journalists. What, did you expect them to toss aside the cameras and turn into Rambos?
Can't believe I wasted my money on this hoax. Not a single motivation, no world building, no character development. President doesn't even have a name. By the end of the movie, I didn't care about the ending, because you gave us nothing to care about. 1/5 stars and that 1 leans heavily on the action scenes.
