    Absolutely perfect and a lifesaver! Quick, simple and foolproof. Never mind the negative comments.

    Thanks, this video helped me give the right idea (I went and looked up battery specs of CR2032 batteries to see that the maximum discharge current they quote is 10 mA). If you calculate the resistance of the circuit inside the multimeter using Ohm's law, you'll realize that for the 9 V batteries you get 360 Ohms wheres for the 1.5 V ones it's 375. This means that it either uses two separate circuits (with separate series resistances) for the measurement or the quoted values are fishy. If we give them the benefit of the doubt and presume that the former's the case you don't know what's the level at which the instrument switches over to the other resistor. Either way I'll just connect >300 Ohm resistors in series and measure my batteries that way, thanks!

    If 8.2mA is good, then how many mA is bad? Like what's the cutoff? Or is any reading >8.2mA bad?

      according to internet:"a brand new 3 volt battery (say CR2032 for instance) has about 3.3 volt. when the battery drops down to 2.8-2.7 volt it is considered dead."
      But others say it can will still work below that number a full 2032 should give 3v and 8.2 mili ampere My 2032 gives 2.7v and set to ampere on my meter it says 70 so probably 7 mili ampere i ordered new ones (pc motherboard)

    What settings to you use with a Innova 3320? I dont have the exact settings/functions you seem to. I has a "battery load test" setting, but not for 3V, goes from 1.5V to 6V, and when i measure new ones with that, they all measure around 2.4V to 2.5V

  • @markallen3614

    Should try talking and explaining what is going on here. My multimeter has a battery setting but it has 2 separate settings. It has 1.5V and 9V. I set it to 9V, and brand new coin cells read the exact same as they do on the voltage test. That would be at 3.25. Since they do not read 8.2 on the battery test. does that mean they are weak?

    • @wellcraft2136
      @wellcraft2136 2 года назад +4

      Note that at minute 0.55 the multimeter is switched from the ("max") 20V [Volts] position to the mA [milliamps] position, which ranges from 4.0mA @ 1.5V to 25mA @ 9V. All four values are ranging "up to" the max readable value. In other words, the low values are the minimum and the high values are the maximum. What is then seen on the meter scale is milliamps, not voltage. The (correctly functioning) multimeter properly scales the milliamp result based on the input voltage when testing the battery. Hope that helps!

    so at what mA would be battery just not operate? were the bad ones shown in the video truly 'bad' ?

    • @SlyStarling
      @SlyStarling 28 дней назад

      It would basically be near zero. Bought a windows 2000 machine that had a low battery warning, checked its voltage to see and it was basically dead

    How do you come up with that equation? I mean where do those numbers come from?

    • @Gaak
      @Gaak  4 года назад +6

      I have the equation from the selector. For 1.5V (4mA is 100%) and for 9V (25mA is 100%). If you use math slope, you can get the value for any value from the equation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slope

    I like that there is no talking. No point in explaining what can be demonstrated.
    Also, the fact that there is no talking makes this demonstration universal across many countries.
    No need to put into words what can be shown through an example.
    Oftentimes people who speak through their videos inadvertently make the video longer and more complicated than it needs to be.

    Man kauft Lithium Knopf -Zellen aus China ? , welche dann in Mini GPS, Schlüsselanhänger nicht funktionieren
    Autotürenöffner Europa , Peugeot , Fiat , VW , Saimler, usw., (geht oft nicht bei Billigbatterien, da empfindlich), Pedometer (aus Japan, geht nicht), elektrische Gewicht- Waage zeigt 60 kg statt richtige 80 kg. Anderer Sender hat andere Frequenz. Weil die Spannung der Batterie zu hoch oder meist niedriger ist ? Ich kauf nur noch Philips , Varta vor 2000 , oder aus Schweden, Tschechien oder Polen von normalen Batterieherstellern, nicht mehr aus China weil sonst kein Gerät mehr richtig geht und man meint es ist kaputt. Dann bekommt man die Galle. Das ist meine Erfahrung bei 4 Geräten. Bei Mainboards (trotz schwacher Nachladung) bin ich mir auch nicht mehr so sicher. Erst eines gewechselt. Früher gingen diese , dann kauf ich hiervon gar nichts mehr ! für diese Verarsche sollten alle nach Sing Sing !
    Ach ja und einige Armbanduhren gehen auch nicht mehr richtig nach der Zeit. Man wechselt 5 x und lötet auch noch an als erfahrener Bastler seitlich im Platzraum eine frische dran, bis das Uhrglas auch noch am Eck hin ist beim x fach Wechseln.. Dann bekommt man einen goldigen Tobsuchtsanfall. Man muß die volle Batterie "mit falscher Spannung" oder durch Zufall eine richtige nach 1/2 Jahr wechseln. So ein Rotz ! Auch Uhren gehen nicht mehr genau. bei verschiedenen Spannungswerten statt dem Aufdruck von 3 V. Ich kauf hier nur noch von Philips ,Varta , Duracell , Sony also verläßliches. Egal was draufsteht. Was draufsteht ist nur die Größe. Man erwartet aber eine ordentliche und verläßliche Herstellung sonst wird es ganz eng, wenn man sch bei nicht funktionierenden Geräten dann aufregt und zuerst nicht weiß, was die Ursache ist
    Bestimmte Batterien sind auch 1/3 dünner und mit komischen Metallummantelungen, die gar nicht normal leiten. Andere sehen komisch aus wie aus billigem Magnesium - Blech ?
    Ich kaufe diesen Unfug nicht mehr ! Die Qualität bestimmter Billigprodukte, natürlich nicht aller, ist nämlich um 90 % abgefallen und die Betrügereien werden nur immer mehr ! ok das wird sich zeigen. Es sind ja nicht alle blöd. Sondern merken meist sofort, woran es manchmal hapert.
