Honestly fascinating to watch Vinny play this game, the longer he goes on playing it the more he almost starts to like.. roleplay as the monster in the game. Doing weird little quirky movements and actions that have no effect in the game whatsoever, but seemingly feeds into the idea of what Vinny thinks his monster should be.
I personally enjoyed the game a lot more when I tried to think like the monster. taking my time with kills, being as brutal as possible against the armored guards, etc. This game really let's you build the creature's character with its sandbox and it is kind of genius.

The term "Carrion" means a putrifying or decaying mass of flesh of animal origin. Including human. It is derived from "caro" the latin word for "meat".
This game's title is basically Rotten Meat. No wonder he's so into it.

There's something calming about Vinny's humour. He's cosy to listen to and watch at the end of a long day's hard work. I love you Vinny.

I always watch him before bed, his humour is perfect and he always makes things interesting.
I go to sleep listening to Vinny so I don't feel so alone at night when clutching and sobbing into my body pillow, searching for some sort of meaning. It's almost like I have our great Italian friend in my arms.

I know "making you feel like something" is a meme at this point, but I can't describe this game any other way. It truly does make you feel like a mass of hostile flesh violently ripping doors off their hinges, swinging robots around the room until they stop working, taking a security guard and just flailing him around, blood going everywhere. This game is incredible, and I encourage anyone reading to pick it up.

Practical effects look bad in direct bright studio lights which is what the moron who demanded CGI saw.

It’s funny, I’ve actually been working on a game with a very similar vibe and style of gameplay to this ever since I saw Vinny’s original streams of FAITH in 2016. In that sort of way, with the pulsating flesh and teeth and tendrils, it’s like seeing that cycle of inspiration reach a new chapter. It’s really cool.
Props to everybody who worked on this, the art is gorgeous and I love any game that has you playing as a biological abomination. This game is sick!

25:40 the dead silence from vinny, the tentacles he shot out that looked like they had eyes, the fact that he taunts the woman with the severed legs of her co-worker, knocks her over, then leaves her alive.
that's a powerful moment, i would call that emergent gameplay.
also a good origin story for some sort of antihero on that woman's part.

The concept of this is so simple to think of. "Like Alien, but you're the alien." And yet it has been so well executed. I love it.

I love how you can just break shit just for the hell of it, like light fixtures, tables, and so on.
Sliding the meat around is even smoother on a controller. I recommend playing this game with crunchy meat snacks on hand. It made me hungry, anyway.

Whenever I see a game like this I always wonder "Can you beat it without killing any of the normal enemies?", I just really like the idea of a huge, gory monstrosity perfect for genocide but just tries to go on with his life
I like the idea of a horrifying meat monster who just wants to live his life, not interested in killing humans.
In case you've never heard of it, you should check Postal 2: it's a hyperviolent game with a dark humour vein in the style of classic South Park, but you can totally take a pacifist approach and kill 0 people/animals(though you're going to cry trying, everyone is a psychopath in Paradise)
You can't. Some areas require you to pilot the humans with your weird mind control tendril to flip switches and break stuff to progress, which always kills them upon ending the ability.

I've been watching Vinny for 7 years... he by far has the most diverse content of any streamer. He does so much interesting stuff like indie games and corruptions and big popular titles as well of course.

Its like got the asthetics of oddworld, the map of metroid and the gameplay of... well quite frankly there has been nothing where a thingblob can quite literally hurl itself about the screen chowing down on things, so unique on that. I MUST OWN THIS!
If i remember correctly, those folks who worked on the practical effects for Thing prequel went on to work on The Void

I played more of this game and, without spoiling much, Meat gains a power that only works on humans (and obviously harms them) and there's no way to proceed without using it.
Vegan% isn't happening.
I've never seen such satisfaction in a video game.

Only game comparable to this I can think of is a little known game for the Genesis called The Ooze, where you play as a sentient pile of slime that moves around levels devouring people.
Even though I only played the sneak peak I think this is my favorite horror game. Thanks Back at the Barnyard for playing it

Short games can be just as good as longer ones. Journey was only 2 or 3 hours long but I'll remember playing it forever.

The last time I had marshmellow fluff my mom thought it was a great idea to microwave it so it's easier to spread. She openned it and the whole thing exploded and it got everywhere including the ceiling. This was four years ago and I'm sure some of it's still there.

John Carpenter's version of The Thing is actually not the "original" film version. There was an older version made in the 1950's called The Thing From Another World that was based on the short story Who Goes There? While the first film is a fine 50's sci-fi/horror film, I do think that Carpenter's version is MUCH better. The creature effects are incredibly well-done and terrifying, and the sense of isolation and growing paranoia as they don't know who they can trust is also fantastic.

Vinny when you were going on about hours i think the saying you were looking for is "Price equals expectations".
If you pay 10 bucks for some indie pre-alpha game, your not gonna get much. But if you pay 60 bucks or more for a game it should either be filled out with either a good chunk of hours OR at least extra content to have something else to do then continue the story like minigames, substories,ect.
Hollow Knight is 15 bucks and offers more than Carrion does (hell it offers more than many 60 dollar titles), and Carrion is 20. They each have their strengths and weaknesses but I do enjoy both. If you wanna be a twisting mass of angry red tentacles and teeth, go with Carrion. If you wanna be a void bug with the powers and mental determination of a god, go with Hollow Knight. It's just that one offers more for less.
@@VampiricDragon666 Yeah some good BIG games only charge a smaller price then others but be HUGE in content weather in hours of gameplay or extra stuff. Like any of the yakuza games from 0-6 you can get for 20 bucks and those games have like 40 to 100+ hours of gameplay each depending if your a completionist or not.
When you are working at a lab and you hear really cute trills, but then fucking unknown hp lovercaft terror makes the choice of stopping by.
