I understand that as an actor this had to be considered the consumate and career challenging part that anyone could play. For Mary it had to be sad but the most incredibly high point in her career and quite probably her pinnacle as an actor. For the rest of the cast and for the writers it is probably the best work they have ever done. Having said all that, I cannot but wish that they had allowed Sharon and Andy to just retire together and ride off into the sunset with us knowing that they finally found each other and to enjoy their lives together.
The Closer and Major Crimes were the best two shows on TV. I hated the way they treated the Kyra Sedgwick character at the end of The Closer (Kyra, Ten Days in the Valley, you could do better), and now they have killed off Sharon Raydor. I guess James Duff can't end a series without burning it down, too.
Even now I still think it was a bad ending. Sharon's death was written so that Rusty could kill Stroh. Sharon would never have allowed this. Her caracter always demonstrated that you don't fight criminals by becoming one. The writers should have ended the show with the retirement of Sharon and Andy and kept Stroh's story for a possible sequel.
TOWARDS THE END WHEN SHARON DIES WAS THE SADEST PART OF THIS SHOW. I WISHED SHARON AND ANDY WAS ALLOWED TO HAVE A LIFE TOGETHER TILL THE END AND NO ONE DIES. I LOVE THIS SHOW.

We will see Sharon again, she did give those SD cards to Buzz those are probably goodbye videos or something. Also read and interview with James Duff that Sharon is dead - not faking it to get to Stroh - which would’ve been great! - unless Duff lied in the interview. Anyway, The Closer and Major Crimes DO NOT get the recognition they deserve for a diverse cast, female driven drama and character development, and strong acting where no one has to be drop dead plastic and extra fit to headline a love story. Such hypocrites some ppl are. To me, The Closer was groundbreaking and Major Crimes carried that torch perfectly until Sharon’s death, where she wasn’t allowed to reap the benefits of her years of hard work - personally and professionally. - I am fucking pissed tbh.
