This is the worse ending for a great series. The way in my mind this ended with Sharon deciding to retire and she and Flynn sail off on their boat into the sunset. Rusty becomes a lawyer. Provenza and his wife retire. Julio gets married and raises his adopted son. Amy joins the Secret Service. Lt Tao works as a consultant in major films and gets his own TV series. They all get together every year for a reunion.😍😍😍
I agree. They deserved a happy ending. They didn't kill BLJ off of The Closer. Just sidetracked her career but she bounced back elsewhere. Seeing that her husband was on Major Crimes so much, he and BLJ must have divorced. Never seemed she'd make a good wife as she was so myopic.

I just rewatched the entire series, seeing the passing of this great character doesn't get any easier. I saw the show first run, week to week, season to season I missed a few things. Watching 1-2 episodes a day, I now see the Family of the show, and appreciate it even more. I still wish there was some sort of follow up series with a few of the characters (and guest stars). To keep up with the Family and see how they're doing.
This video was very well done. I loved the Closer, but Mary McDonnell enhanced this show so much more. I loved the interactions of the well loved characters. It was a shock that the show was ceased; and the way it finished was extremely sad, yet precious. So painful though! It had a profound impact on me which surprised me. I know many fans felt cheated and I get that, but by gosh the sudden demise and final death of Sharon captures the reality of life and death. Death can come out of the background, like a" thief in the night," in so many different ways. There was deep meaning behind Sharon's death, but not in the "glory" we often see in police shows. The fact that people genuinely grieved and that many were so angry reflects real life. We want a better outcome for the people we love, but we are powerless in much of this, especially in death. I would have liked a better ending for Sharon because her character was well loved by me; but now that I know this was her character's story, I would have it no other way. Still painful! Still wanted a happy future for her! But still would have it no other way. This was Sharon Raydor's life.
Yeah sure, death reflects real life.. But we watch tv shows to be entertained and relax.... if I wanted to watch real life, I’d just go out and meet people..
When they kill a character on a show . It means there can't be anymore of the show. ...well there could be. But for this show it was ending and if they would of sent her off with flen on a boat then people will think 🤔 there's going to be more. So killing her means it's over the show can't go on and that's all folks the end. No bonus episodes, no spin offs nothing. Because they killed her. So that's how the really good shows end. Only 6 seasons versus the 7 seasons the other lady had that came on before her. Brenda Lee Johnson. But it was a very good show and we can't always get happy endings. Sucks but there trying to show it as real life. Which can be good . I guess it's how we all take it. Yes they could of let her retire and all but then that leaves the door open for her to come back, or something. Get the point ? So by killing her means it's over for good no more of anything. 😤🤬🤬😋😳 She choose it to end this way. But someone can make another show with a different outcome but just not this show. Hope that helped a little. One cop retired on bad terms and this cop had to die. Just shows death can come when we least expect it. For Sharon it ended everything for her and her team. Poor Rusty.

The saddest part of this is when she had last rites while she was still fully able to. I'm not Catholic but I know what it means. Even Protestants have something similar. That symbolized that she was making peace with her fate. 😭

I enjoy all the actors. They can make you laugh & have a lot of emotions. I've got no favorite because I enjoy watching them all. But I've got heads up with this episode with Sharon's passing. Covid19 isn't helping stuck in my apt. Presidential Debate & winter around the corner.... Only thing good is for now my Dr said I can go back to the gym...... for now if nothing changes... I still feel the show didn't have to end with Sharon's death directly. The show could have instead brought her heart condition to the forefront and that she would be forced to retire. The other detective's would still get their happy ending for the most part as Major Crime's would be dismantled forever because of budget cuts. Andy and Sharon would literally take a well deserved vacation knowing she may not live long enough into the future. Sharon's death would be more implied than actually shown.

In my opinion Sharon Radnor was the best thing to happen to the Closer. Her character gave the show a boost. I only watch season 5, when she first shows up ,and on. I read where the creators of the show , knowing it was the last season. Wanted to give Mary the opportunity to be free up for other work. Still it was hard to watch.

First of all, I really liked Major Crimes. The characters and story lines were great, however, I was pissed when they decided to cancel the series. What made it worse was how they ended it. Very stupidly. Killing of Sharon Raydor served absolutely no purpose and I didn't like that they had Rusty kill the serial killer and Provenza has to take the blame. I mean what terrible writing to end a great series. More than disappointed.

Great series but bad ending. Also could have done without Stroh being around throughout the whole series. Just start season 1 by saying Brenda shot him dead in the closer, then move on. In the end I preferred Major Crimes and Sharon though.

I believe she "let herself go". Look at the communications. She had told Andy she wished she died in the ambulance and had previously made him promise to watch out for her children. She talked with the priest, who looked horrified with what she was essentially saying, and then received Last Rites. She made tapes for 'in case of my death'. Had emotional conversations with Rusty and Andy. Then she needelessly pushed herself in that interrogation anyone else could have handled. She left this life on her own terms doing what she loved, of course with God's divine wisdom of when. People begged her to rest and remain calm, but she repeatedly did the opposite. She knew what she was doing.
The show was ending and writers had no intent on saving the Captain, it was just a matter of how she was to die....also her contract was not being discussed, so that is another sign that she was gone....terrible decision writers and TNT

Sharon was a huge character a much loved character but after sh went why was this the end of a well regarded TV series there was a chance for it to return in some form or other the Major Crimes: Cold Cases? Set 4 years later and a old case from the past comes back to haunt the police department a first ever case of the MC a death of a detective a missing witness and Rusty receives a letter from the grave and there's a dark secret of consequences and the old team is going to come to a conclusion that a killer has returned after thought dead or in prison but there's a major hidden secret and a new head of the team with a familiar face and a familiar face as DA and a lot of unsolved cases and a case that brings back another face from the past?
In my opinion the serie got better with Mary Macdonell. I never liked Brenda's arrogance nor Kiera's histrionics. Next to her, Provenza and the other detectives looked like clumsy clowns who couldn't make decisions. With Sharon the boys showed that they were smarter than they seemed and the actors were able to show off more, acquiring greater prominence. Even without her, I think the serie could continue to function.
Commander Sharon Raydor played by Mary McDonnell was a good actress (not great) OR just assigned to a very Bland, Flatline, Type B Character. IN MY MIND she needed to go slightly Over the Top, or Scunch Up her face, or Furrow her brow on occasion just to show a little Passion. /// It was JUST TOO unsettling & frustrating for my expectations to watch her in Major Cromes, more acceptable in The Closer in a supporting role.
It was better when it was The Closer with Brenda. Sharon was also better when she was fighting with Brenda. In Major Crimes her character changed and wasn't the strong actress she was. Also she talked way to slow. Besides every time I see Mary McDonnell I think of Dances with Wolfs and her trying to talk. Saying "Stands with fists"...And it seems her speech is still be her problem today. Sorry When the team changed it just wasn't the same.
I was just as surprised as the rest of you about the death of Sharon; but at the time I thought this would mean the return of Brenda and the possibility of her and Fritz working together. Sorry that it didn't work out that way.
The supporting cast from the Closer through Major Crimes is what made this show. Mary McDonnell was not a good replacement for Kyra Sedgewick she put me to sleep with her slow deadpan acting, Im glad they killed off her character so I never have to see her again. Also the show went WOKE when it became Major Crimes and ruined the whole thing.

horrible ending!
In my opinion the serie got better with Mary Macdonell. I never liked Brenda's arrogance nor Kiera's histrionics. Next to her, Provenza and the other detectives looked like clumsy clowns who couldn't make decisions. With Sharon the boys showed that they were smarter than they seemed and the actors were able to show off more, acquiring greater prominence. Even without her, I think the serie could continue to function.
Commander Sharon Raydor played by Mary McDonnell was a good actress (not great) OR just assigned to a very Bland, Flatline, Type B Character. IN MY MIND she needed to go slightly Over the Top, or Scunch Up her face, or Furrow her brow on occasion just to show a little Passion.

It was JUST TOO unsettling & frustrating for my expectations to watch her in Major Cromes, more acceptable in The Closer in a supporting role.

It was better when it was The Closer with Brenda. Sharon was also better when she was fighting with Brenda. In Major Crimes her character changed and wasn't the strong actress she was. Also she talked way to slow. Besides every time I see Mary McDonnell I think of Dances with Wolfs and her trying to talk. Saying "Stands with fists"...And it seems her speech is still be her problem today. Sorry When the team changed it just wasn't the same.
I was just as surprised as the rest of you about the death of Sharon; but at the time I thought this would mean the return of Brenda and the possibility of her and Fritz working together. Sorry that it didn't work out that way.
The supporting cast from the Closer through Major Crimes is what made this show. Mary McDonnell was not a good replacement for Kyra Sedgewick she put me to sleep with her slow deadpan acting, Im glad they killed off her character so I never have to see her again. Also the show went WOKE when it became Major Crimes and ruined the whole thing.
she was by far worst actor on the show. She's horrible. Never understood how anyone could stomach her
