Peavey ReValver 4 can load other plugins, too.
Sounds a whole lot better too.
Element vst host can also do it, its free. And you have a cheaper thing for Axiom, Blue Cat's PatchWork, that is cheaper, but will be without all Axiom amps and effects. But that delay in axiom need to be investigated because its very complex, o lot of thing to manipulate.
So you did not try to load Axiom in Axiom. You're not a funny guy.
Peavey Revalver has been a third party plugin loader for years now. (I first saw it in mk.3 but could have been earlier).
Was always fun to load Amplitube into it to see how it’s mic/cab emulation would react with the Revalver’s amps.
Elements are a free vst hoster.
I have requested that a VST plugin chooser like Studio One or Cubase has. A nice imported list. Ability to hide unwanted plugins. Be able to add photos so drag and drop is functional and feels like adding real life gear. In addition, possibly choosing presets for the VST plugins.
This looks super cool. I have Blue Cat's PatchWork which comes in at half the price, but lacks the ability to directly mix between two amps and the tuner. It can however load a ton of VST's for me, including my tuner and amp sims, EQs, etc. and it doesn't require me to commit to opening a DAW when I just want to jam (first world problems.)
I like the refinement of Axiom, especially the simpler signal routing.
Revalver can host vst. And Elements vst host are a free options, without the option to A/B mix.
I am just getting into guitars and basses and I love watching your videos!
how old is he anyway, if you shut your eyes you think its either a 14 year old teenager or another peewee Herman talking to kids
Nice job on the mix here fluff!
Riff from the first demo sounded VERY Chevelle like!
Ryan Bitrick I was thinking Because of You by Nickelback
Blue Cat Destructor nails clean - Tweed, Brit, Tejas... $99.
So many good SIMS these days, Neural DSP, Mercuriall, S-Gear (Still!), Thermionik (sleeper), Kuassa 3rd gen ...
Does it allow custom IRs?
You can use the Blue Cat FreqAnalyst Multi plugin to make your own custom EQ/Filter curve to use inside of it as a reference. Axiom doesn't use typical impulse responses, but you can load any third party one you wish.
Thanks
Pretty good.
Yeah, I like that!
Nice Nickelback riff compilation!
I actually really dig that demo song
Hey Fluff,
No one talks about tubes much. Why not get a bunch of tube types and swap them in and out so we can hear the differences. Might be a cool series. See how some different EL34's sound in your Orange or different 6L6's in a Mesa.
they dont want you to know how well tubes compress your playing rather then the tone, you can always crank the input of any compressor to see what im talking about, tweak it to your taste and you have the same reaction from the sim as you would Neural DSP stuff
Fluff. What do you think of the new tunes Alice in Chains released ?
Dat PRS tho!!!! 💖💖💖
I tried the demo, I didn’t like the Plug In ....if you don’t use any other plug ins (in my case Fortin NTS Suite) you can throw it away! Maybe I am to stupid to use it!? I have tried some presets for Bands (Megadeth (Mega Dead) and Pantera (something Dime Bag) and it sounds horrible! But again, maybe I’m just to stupid to use it....
The amp sim it self really need a critical view. When people that do reviews and do not reveal one bad thing about a product, there is not much a review. Its important they do reveal both the positive and negative things about what they show people, or else its an advertising thing. Nothing wrong about that, but then you should give people a head ups on that's what's done!
Its possible the worst sounded amp sim in the newer time scale. They are way back on the sound processing. Yes, they have the possible to load third parties amp sim, mix between two settings, using a expression pedal to switch softly between the profile gradually so you can blend the sound. And that's a very cool options, and even might be useful. Compare to other amp sim out there, you will get much more out of other options. Until they do something about their amp and effects, this is not worth 199 euro.
I'm a little unsure about that delay Late Replay, and the tone shaping thing they have. It gives a lot of interesting deep diving, that can make you get some very unusual sound shapes. It can be useful as an experimental musician, either if you use this for guitar, voice or other instruments.
There are other third party hosting amp sim out there. There are some free options to. Revalver (it's not free), Elements vst host etc are some that can host third parties amp sims. Blue Cat's PatchWork is an cheaper version without the amps and effects that can host third parties vst sold for 99 euro, but without the options to mix between A and B profiles like Blue Cat's Axiom.
If Blue Cat's do something about their amp sim, this plugins can have a real potensial out there. So Blue Cat's you know what to be done to meet the demand. Dont hide beyond it's just about taste!
Can I import cab impulses?Wasn't big on the cab. I like the barebones arrangement especially how you can manage plugins... But what if I wanted to load a different amp. Perhaps Bias amp 2?
I don't really know but you can chain a cab impulses vst within the Axiom. That's cool i guess
Axiom doesn't use typical impulse responses, just eq/filter curves.
It can take any third parti amp sims. But Elements vst hoster do it for free, but misses the A/B mixing options.
What did you end up naming your Amplifier?
HawkGuts83 "my orange amp head"
No demo version for a 199€ plugin? Hell no!
Ryan Brown that's illegal
Ryan Brown that's why I'm asking for a demo. Even the line 6 native guys managed to put out a working demo. 199€ is a huge amount of money for a lot of people, me including.
There is of course a demo version available for download on the right of the Axiom web page: www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_Axiom/
There is a free amp version
There's a demo link on the product page.

This riff must be fluff approved
I don't see the big deal about loading VST's into it, you can do that in your DAW... Yeah okay if it works as a standalone plugin, but still not game changing.
There is also some free one like elements vst hoster. But it misses the A/B mixing parts that axiom has. The axiom amp sim is a really bad one. Just download the demo and try it out. They really need to advance with that parts.
Nice plugin with really good features but i wish their amps were actually good. Fluff pretty much pulled the best tone you can literally pull out of the plugin
ReValver 4 by Peavey can load 3rd party VST also...
Also Elements vst hosting, its free
What do you guys think, this or Amplitube 4?
Get amplitube or something else if your out for an amp sim. The amp sim in axiom is not very developed, its bad. But there are other things in axiom that can be interesting.
Hey Fluff, would you post that preset? Thanks!
No
@@arbazann LMAO reply two years later from not Fluff.
How does Blue Cat compare to TH3?
TH-U now. It cant be compared, TH-U win by a decades, so does all the other amp sim out there do. Its possible the worst sounded amp sim out there, except for some future like A/B switching profiles, and the special Late Replay delay inside Axiom, and that axiom can host other third parties vst. BUt there are free option for vst hosts like elements vst host. And revalver can also host vst.
Love the dryness of this.
Also, Amplitube has had a pre fx/amp/post fx A/B for a while now.
Just got this. The layout is pretty strange. I bought the entire $300 mess, lol. Mkay, now I find out that Axiom has the Destructor etc already built-in, and I wouldn't have needed to pay extra for superfluous "stages" of this amp/efx labyrinth -- I, I mean sim. They lay it out that way on their site, which is underhanded, but meh. Everything sounded weird until I dug around in the menus and figured out I was going thru 2 speaker sims in series, so yeah. No wonder it sounded awful. Mkay, sorted that part. I think over this wkend, I should have free time enough to work the rest out. I think all I'm lacking now is where the mic sims are buried. You go into a parameter list looking for speaker sims, and you get this vaguely-purposed layout which includes mastering algorithms and other strange stuff which isn't immediately guitar-related... I'll have the mescaline the designers at Blue Cat were having.. I actually did see the speaker sim early on, but I didn't ID it as such initially, bc it looked like an amp. Their cab sims have gain and eq controls. I've never thought to bend down and adjust the eq and gain on a real guitar cab before, never noticed that cabs have those. Guess I need to make that trip to Optical Clinic or something.
Seems to be a righteous bit of kit. I'm sure I'll use it over TH-U for awhile. It's pretty unique.
Good demo...wish I had 1/5000ths of the talent you have, but I just take the "Sid Vicious" approach, meh. Cheers, thx for the information this demo provided.
This video should be called how to sound like Beartooth 🤣
Legit question...Does he say “Today on (Rasputin) gear...” in the intro?
yup.
According to the captions, he says "tenaris reason gear"
Another legit question....At the end does he say "Alla pickable links down below....."??
The best
It sounds too digital to me. Good review though.
Its digital. The upside thing is that you can load third parti vst there. But there are other free alternative like elements vst host, but without the A/B switching.
TIGHT
Love you fluff
Not worth the crazy price.....has cool features, just not feeling it sound wise....too fizzy....but the free amp version is probably the best free clean sim I tried...very light on pc as well

I'm sorry but this sounded awful to me. There isn't any grit here. It just sounds like a wall of pure digital noise to me. The Mercuriall TriAxis or just anything from Bias is a way better way to go I think. But hey: different strokes for different folks. Always love your extensive reviews.
Mercuriall = yes
Bias = poo

Listens to greyhaven once.
Hey oh
kh310 is really good huh better than the adams.
sounds bad, transistor
kind of reminds me of korn or something
I don't even have a PC or use sims why am I here?
Omar because fluff is love
fluff is life
fluff is everything
Too many sims these days
But why not?)))
alex gl I mean I know I'm a drummer by trade, Church drummer home drummer. But seems to me if you can find something that works just as well as they amp to fit your budget then why not? Not everyone is looking to be a touring band, lot of people just like making use it in their home as a hobby. So I agree with you why not have all these simulators? But maybe I'm just an idiot cuz I know almost nothing about guitars.
Gabe The Samurai I guess you are right. In the end its all about the sound that you get. There are many products that are good enough to sound like “real” amp in the mix. The rest depends on your preferences during the process - some just love being kicked in the ass by a 4x12 cabinet...And they say that all software guitar stuff is shit. They love pedals, cables, messing with power chords, noise etc... Pretty shure you love playing a good set of drums instead of clicking triangles on a midi track in your DAW) But i stand for the final result - the sound of a mixed and mastered track in my headphones or PA. I use plugins to play at home and laying some demo tracks, half-analog-half-digital setup in a live situation and of course - i will use a real industry standart rig for recording the album. And you know what? I can easily switch these rigs and nobody will hear the difference))) Its all about convinience, comfort and feel. And the budget, of course. )))
Bear(d)tooth
Pod farm on minimal))
Woah
Hi fluff
tried the fucking demo. to me, it sounds like shit. even revalver 4 is better than this.
First lol xdxs
Good video , by the way
