Today's video cover the (near) complete history of Mark Grayson, aka Invincible. Mark is half earthling and half Viltrumite, a powerful race of superbeings from the planet Viltrum. When Mark grows up his super powers kick in and he begins to fight crime under the name Invinicble. He falls in love with Eve Wilkins (Atom Eve) and works alongside many of the worlds strongest heroes (Guardians of the Globe, Teen Team, ect). This video doesn't cover every single battle or coversation he has, but it does cover the majority of the most important relationships, battles, and story arcs that Mark goes through in the comics.

@@nwabuezeozuzu6370 No he was raped by another Viltrumite (Anissa) who wanted to bear his child. He had a falling out with Eve at the time and refused Anissa but she beat him half to death and raped him in a middle of a field.

@@adam_clown she didn't beat him half to death he wasn't bleeding or anything she was just stronger than him and that was happening during the truce between the viltrumites that were staying on earth and nolen and mark so he didn't want to really fight or try to kill Anissa, but yeah he didn't really want it.

The show does feel like an up to date version, cutting filler and taking multiple events and rearranging them to make a more dramatic and episodic story of triumph, betrayal, death, and legacy.
That's actually the point of the show. He's has improved his writing so he's making an even better one
The only issue people have is potentially giving Amber a larger role than she was intended to have.

Seeing Battle Beast with Mark and Nolan is so unbelievable, I wouldn’t even believed it unless of someone just told me.
Battle Beast is just there for the fight, he's a badass in the comics and he goes out as a badass too.

The most emotional scene I’ve scene in animation in years
For all the bullshit Mark went through, he really came out on top. It really felt like his happy ending was earned, not just given to him because "he's a good guy and the good guys win"

I think this is very true, especially because some of the things that happen to him are consequences of his actions (i.e. The flood dinosaurus causes, his daughter growing up without him for 5 years, etc.). The scene where he declares that “being a hero is bullshit” is the final turning point of his character where he decides that he’s not going to be focused on doing what’s right anymore. It’s because of that that he’s able to finally live happily with his immortal wife.
Mark has been through so much it makes me wanna sob from being impaled several times to sexual assault and losing loved ones, I’m glad he had a happily ever after, he deserved it after all he went through 😭

The only time I cried in this comic is when omni man died. It was so sad amd emotional to see how far he has gone. From the ruthless viltrumite to the compassionate man he is now. The speech he gave Mark before he died was so heart felt

I just finished the comic series and man, I love Mark and Nolan. Incredible character development from both

You know it says something about Nolan as a character that he raised Mark to be a good person, not to be okay with the invasion or the ideals of his people. He could have easily just raised him to become someone that would agree to help take over the planet. But instead Nolan raised him into the hero he became.
He raised him like that because he needed to uphold his cover and he wasn't 100% sure Mark would get his powers.(He got them pretty late compared to other Virtumites hybrids).

Mark's not immortal tho. He just has a really long lifespan, so he'll eventually die. Eve will eventually outlive both Mark and Tera, unless she find a way to shutdown her powers so she can die peacefully.

In the end Mark became a true hero: a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
He kind of loses his nobility as the series progresses.

I kinda like that Mark never grew a mustache. Even when he was recovering from Conquest & didn’t shave, hair grew everywhere on his face except the upper lip. I like to think it’s his human DNA taking over in the one way it can with the Viltrumite genes.
The biggest lesson that Invincible teaches is that time heals all wounds. Mark has had a very complex and at times dark life, he has been both victim to and comitter of some attrocious acts, but he has also been the vehicle for alot of good in the world and by the end he is able to say that it was all worth it. His relationship with Eve has been strained at multiple points but by the end they are stronger than ever with the benefit of time.

His name was really put to the test and he proved to be Invincible, by being well and good in the end even after all the trauma, suffering, etc. that he has experienced through his life.

I think what I always loved about the comic is that it's never to late to change. That's what I always took away from it. Marks dad in the 3nd changes because he lived the life of a human. That pur lives may be so brief in the bigger picture of the universe as a whole but because it's so brief it makes us live the most. We value the people we form relationships with. In the blink of an eye we can lice a truly beautiful life. You determine the value of your life. You can change it if you try. It's not easy, its hard. It's tough as he'll but if omni man can become a dad who loves his son and changes then we can change to. That legacy isn't important. What's important us what we do with the time we have.

I disagree. They did a pretty great job adapting the first 13 issues and even made them BETTER, IMO. Not to mention Robert Kirkman is directly involved and it’s not often a creator gets to go back and retell a story they told after it’s over. I got a feeling unless the majority screw something up somehow, we’re in for a great show.

Love the fact the comic and show is called Invincible. Not that Mark himself is invincible but his ability to endure all this crazy stuff is what makes him truly invincible.

huh.. i have a feeling that people only dislike the ending of AOT because it doesn’t follow up to the rest of the series. people are only disappointed because they wanted to it to be the best ending you could ever find in an anime. sure, it was a bit rushed, but i still think it was a decent ending.
@@homowillis3405 I fully agree with you. Tbh, it was more of the realistic ending, yet it still gets trashed by the fandom. But I’m a sucker for happy endings, especially if the main character been through some ish.
Yeah hated the AOT ending l, felt like it threw away & recontextualised like 80-90% of the foreshadowing, themes & character development that happened in the story. Plus tbh I didn’t really enjoy the rumbling arc but was hoping the the last few chapters would atleast wrap it up in a respectable way that is fitting for the story, rather it felt like fan service ending in order to keep certain characters alive & give some of the fan base crumbs of what they wanted to see. Any way it is what it is, some people liked, good for them. Gonna start reading invincible now just finished watching the 1st szn & I fw it! the story is dope!

I just finished reading the series and while I do love it, it definitely felt likea Gore happy mess where there was barely a second to breathe after most of the big fights. I do hope the show takes its time and doesn't rush to the finish line like the comic did for most of it's story arcs. 7/10

I enjoyed s1 on amazon. But I honestly don't see a lot of the high praise people give it. I liked the character growth, humor and world progression, but I wouldn't exactly describe it as natural. Especially considering that seeing the real backlash of having super powered beings in a world where we exist isn't remotely a new concept. Same goes for a story where the heros don't just outright win or have to change their ideas along the way. Enjoyable, but not really unique or view changing as far as stories go. Also the thing with heros like superman and spiderman is matching up to what you need to do like Mark, but also dealing with the loneliness it brings along with the fear of accidentally crush those you love and mean to protect

Unlike DC or Marvel comics where the heroes experience almost 0 hardship and always come out on top. Also never showing the collateral damage invoked by super wings fighting each other. Pretty refreshing experience as a whole. You just sound like a salty DC fanboy that's mad your favorite is getting overshadowed.

I'm pretty excited for Cannibal Mark to make an appearance in the animated TV show. I remember when I read the issue, way back in the day, I made a lot of head cannon about him. It's just the idea of having to fight a cannibal version of yourself that captured my young imagination.
I mean the guy was able to kill off the majority of the strongest versions of himself, and eat them. He deserved a flashier death

One thing I love about Invincible is that it's the opposite of a Superhero's journey. Normally superhero comics are based around how the hero overcomes challenges to become the greatest Hero. Invincible on the other hand centers around a Superhero overcoming challenges to stop being a hero. It the story of Mark becoming a good normal person (who is a viltrumite)
My favorite line in the entire comic is when Mark kills thragg's son saying "Being a Hero is bullshit" because he has tried being the hero before and ultimately it makes everything worse in the long run. Everything in his life only became stable and good when he stopped being a Superhero.
Not to mention the way he did it was cold af. Literally crushes Thragg's son's head.

I mean it made much less sense for a run of the mill viltri to beat mark since he had killed the likes of conquest with sheer tenacity and strength.
What I love about the relationship between mark and his father is that his father lied about what viltrum was like but raised him to change it to that same lie he told him as a child.
I want Conquest to have Mr.Krab's voice actor. Imagine the intensity and depth that guy can bring to his voice as a fight hungry maniac. Plus the look fits his voice for it
