***** Yeah i know. Overall, Piers was a cool character but i just hated the AI. When it comes to the campaign in this game, I liked Leon's campaign and Ada's best. I'm more of a Chris fan but in this game. Leon's campaign beated Chris campaign easy.
Piers trusted and believed Chris so much that gave his own life for him. He wanted to help and heal him from his torment. More than this, he believed Chris was the world's hope, hero and savior. That's, mostly, probably the reason why Chris chose stay in BSAA rather than leave. His sacrifice wasn't in vain at all.
It's not entirely like that, I mean yeah Piers had a lot of faith in Chris, but he also knew he had no future in those conditions so he chose to die as a BSAA fierce soldier saving his captain's life rather than transforming into a monster. Piers knew it was pointless for Chris to try to save him since he was already turning into a monster. Piers had this realization at 2:38, that's when he chose to die as an hero instead of living long enough to see himself becoming a villain (to quote The Dark Knight).
I cried for 10 or more minuets... And the worst part was at the end. When the guys said captain, I got excited because I thought it was Piers. It wasn't :(

You can come up to me right now and mention Piers Nivans and I will STILL cry. This was such a good game. I enjoyed it 100%. Except when Piers died.

At first, I didn't really care about Piers and then as I played the campaign, I got attached to him and when he died my eyes actually watered. He's a new character whose purpose seems to merely fulfill a logistical role. Plus, the whole tragedy of losing your partner and colleague has already been done with Resident Evil 5 and and the Lost in Nightmares DLC. I get that they want to milk out Chris's passion and emotions, but I wish they either retconned Lost in Nightmares to make it a full length game (and revisit the tragedy of Jill sacrificing herself) or have Chris forced to like, I don't know, kill his infected son that he had with Jill. It would display the moral dilemma of being forced to kill your loved ones lest they become a monster, a theme which I'm surprised that Resident Evil hardly explored. Chris's son could be screaming, "Daddy it hurts! It hurts!" forcing Chris to perform a coup d' grace and live with the fact he killed his own son.
I just finished this game today, so sad on what happened to Piers. Glad I played this even I was late. Been busy on those years when this was released.

I don't know why but to me this is the saddest video game death I have experienced. That aside. Resident evil is known that if a characters death is not on camera they may be alive. For example Ada in RE2, so maybe Piers will be alive. Maybe they planned on killing him off, but after fan reaction and his popularity they will write in how he somehow survived whether it was that his powers allowed him to live or what ever else the writers may come up with.
There's this awesome fanfic being written where Piers survived but he ended up turning into an aquatic B.O.W. The author even drew pictures on her Deviantart account and they look SPECTACULAR! 😄
I like how at the end he was eating the steak just like piers was doing when he found him. I was devastated when he died, I can actually say I was pretty upset for a few days like he was a human or something important to me. I liked Piers from the get go he was a sweet heart and I loved him in the trailers
Piers saved the world from HAOS who was going to spread the virus globally. So damn HEROIC!!! Honestly I believe Helena should have died, it's not that I hate her but it would have made Leon's campaign more intresting that way. Piers would have been an amazing asset to the RE universe, and really CAPCOM just had to kill everyone of Chris' men all the way to Piers, that's just messed up... They should make things less predictable.
The part where Leon saves Ada on the bridge was amazing in his campaign, you can really see the feelings those two characters shared over the years and games they spent together, what are you talking about?

About passing the torch, it's a good thing for the next generation of fighters against bio terrorism. Claire to Moira, Wesker (despite being the antagonist) to Jake, Sherry... Too bad Piers died and yeah, he would have taken Chris' place.
I know this comment may be lost in the years of the rest, but for anyone curious about Piers, originally he was meant to take over from Chris and Chris was meant to die in his place, but they switched it last minute, that's also why Piers felt like such a complete character overall, still props to them for delivering such a well felt death scene last minute for the character.
In the space of 30 seconds, Piers saves Chris twice.... Once releasing the bath-o-sphere, secondly destroying that BOW with his electric arm... If anything in that second one, Piers saved not only Chris but the world by destroying that BOW... Piers was just the best. RE6 and Village are pretty much the only RE games to get me really tearful.
I wish you couldn't play as Piers. Seeing him in this state and seeing him die was sad, playing as him would destroy this feeling. I am glad i played as Chris for the whole campaign.

Guys lets be Serious about this.I really enjoyed the Resident Evil series because of the CHARACTERS and the story telling , not about the horror factor behind it. This scene defenetly shows , how important characterdevelopment is. It had a HUGE impact to true Resident Evil lovers. Thats why Resident Evil 6 is my fav. part, because ive been a huge fan of Chris and Piers and this game simply brought us so much character detail..... I really have hopes that Resident Evil 7 is gonna focus more on characterdetail than horror...Oh and R.I.P Piers...

Call me old fashioned, but I am now a fan of characters that you have played the entire way through with...die right at the end. It's like...really? Went through all of this just to see the character die? Am I the only one? I feel Steve to be different as he was playable at certain parts, but Piers should've lived, although it was an epic way to go.

He was such a solid character, I'll miss having Piers in resident evil. This game definitely set him up high a mantle to be a Resident Evil Hero. Shame they had to kill him.
what makes this scene even sadder is that piers probably didn't realize all of this until after the creature was beaten and chris and him were in the room with the pods. So not only is he a quick thinker as well as logical but also a brave soldier by instinct. he would have been possibly the most strongminded and stable member of all the characters in the RE series. So.....yeah I was pretty bumbed out he died :(

When I saw piers lose his arm I was like "WHAT THE FUCK?!" and then infecting himself made realize he was gonna die and when I completed the Chris campaign I was just in shock about it and in my mind I was like "I did it but at what cost?" Cause when I hear the other campaigns I latterly shout " YEAH!!!! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT DUDE!!!!!!! " but for this one I was like "holy crap... Why did I play this campaign..." Yeah I was really sentimental too, I don't see Chris' story going any further than this in the franchise unless there's a game where he gets together with Jill Valentine. We can only hope Piers would make some comeback even if he would be a mutant.

I just started playing this game a week ago..and everyone who trashed this game for being non-horror? Screw you. One of my favorite games in the Resi Franchise, and in general. The gameplay was phenomenal, visuals were pretty good..and the story was great. I played this campaign with my friend, and once we got to this part..my heart broke. Because I took that for him. That's what I felt, and when a game can do that for me, it immediately becomes a favorite.
Honestly I feel like this was the same ending type used in Armageddon. It worked in tha movie, and it CERTAINLY works here! I thought Piers was great, loved his character and how he kept Chris in line. I honestly expected it was Chris who would die and Piers would continue on in his name. This was really sad
I think if Piers was on the escape pod, the virus could take over him and unwillingly kill Chris, so he sacrificed for his captain's safety. What a depressing end for such talent like Piers.

I didn't expect him to die... and he did. He's the only main character who died in RE6, and this is just one of the few sad ends of RE. He is the character, I expected the least to die.

Guys lets be Serious about this.I really enjoyed the Resident Evil series because of the CHARACTERS and the story telling , not about the horror factor behind it. This scene defenetly shows , how important characterdevelopment is. It had a HUGE impact to true Resident Evil lovers. Thats why Resident Evil 6 is my fav. part, because ive been a huge fan of Chris and Piers and this game simply brought us so much character detail..... I really have hopes that Resident Evil 7 is gonna focus more on characterdetail than horror...Oh and R.I.P Piers...

I really loved the story of this game , this scene melted my heart.
Call me old fashioned, but I am now a fan of characters that you have played the entire way through with...die right at the end. It's like...really? Went through all of this just to see the character die? Am I the only one?
I feel Steve to be different as he was playable at certain parts, but Piers should've lived, although it was an epic way to go.
Would have like to see Piers salute his captain one final time instead of just standing there dumbfounded as he was

He was such a solid character, I'll miss having Piers in resident evil. This game definitely set him up high a mantle to be a Resident Evil Hero. Shame they had to kill him.

what makes this scene even sadder is that piers probably didn't realize all of this until after the creature was beaten and chris and him were in the room with the pods. So not only is he a quick thinker as well as logical but also a brave soldier by instinct. he would have been possibly the most strongminded and stable member of all the characters in the RE series. So.....yeah I was pretty bumbed out he died :(

When I saw piers lose his arm I was like "WHAT THE FUCK?!" and then infecting himself made realize he was gonna die and when I completed the Chris campaign I was just in shock about it and in my mind I was like "I did it but at what cost?" Cause when I hear the other campaigns I latterly shout " YEAH!!!! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT DUDE!!!!!!! " but for this one I was like "holy crap... Why did I play this campaign..." Rest in peace Piers Nevins you were a good man 😔

I actually played the campaign first as Piers. My favorite character from minute 1. Sheva gets to live, Carlos gets to live. And Piers gets this.

Carla was the one responsible for all this death. Sure, she could blame Simmons for her condition, but she was the one that was responsible for taking her anger out on the world and causing the death of Chris' entire unit.

Piers performed the most selfless act....he gave his life to save Chris'. He didn't deserve to die like that. I was truly hoping for him and Chris to make it out togther. WE didn't see him technically die so to speak. If Krauser came back when he wasn't dead, then sure as hell Piers can come back! Long live Piers Nivans!
I just started playing this game a week ago..and everyone who trashed this game for being non-horror? Screw you. One of my favorite games in the Resi Franchise, and in general. The gameplay was phenomenal, visuals were pretty good..and the story was great. I played this campaign with my friend, and once we got to this part..my heart broke. Because I took that for him. That's what I felt, and when a game can do that for me, it immediately becomes a favorite.
Honestly I feel like this was the same ending type used in Armageddon. It worked in tha movie, and it CERTAINLY works here! I thought Piers was great, loved his character and how he kept Chris in line. I honestly expected it was Chris who would die and Piers would continue on in his name.

I think if Piers was on the escape pod, the virus could take over him and unwillingly kill Chris, so he sacrificed for his captain's safety. What a depressing end for such talent like Piers.
