    I bought this pedal after watching this video. This does a great job showcasing the sound. It gets a tad fuzzy when driven and it’s very responsive to how hard or soft you play. Instant warmth that sounds great in a mix

    What’s the 2nd sample that Ian is playing when he’s using the red Mustang?

    • @OriginEffectsUK

      Do you mean song?
      Ian wrote unique bass lines for each of the examples, I suspect this riff was inspired by Tame Impala's "The Less I Know the Better"

    I play reggae, record into audio interface, for studio application I'm looking to give more character to my tone. At first I was looking at the bassrigs, in which I can't make up my mind what one would suit my style more. So now I'm looking at the DCX as an option instead of a bassrige for studio use. I'm so confused as to what path to take.

      If your sound is largely a clean DI bass thing. The DCX would make for a great tone shaper going direct to console. Just like using a nice mic pre on a bass signal.
      If amp-sounds are your thing, one of the BASSRIG pedals would be better suited. They sound like actual bass amps. Generally most people find the Super Vintage the better choice with it's punchy mids and ability for some smooth yet definited tones.
      The '64 Black Panel could be cool too, it's just a little more old school so might not sit well with bouncy, more modern flavours of bass.

  • @CNick75

    @OriginEffectUK will you be coming out with color matching versions of these for the Black Panel and Super Vintage?

  • @bassplayer807
    @bassplayer807 8 месяцев назад

    Is it best to run the DCX Bass through the Super Vintage, since the DCX is a tone shaper/ booster/ EQ?

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  8 месяцев назад

      It can be ran on its own, or through other amps/preamps.

    • @bassplayer807
      @bassplayer807 8 месяцев назад

      @@OriginEffectsUK Has anyone ever ran the Super Vintage and Black ‘64 together? Like having the signal of one going into the other and having both pedals on at the same time?

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  8 месяцев назад

      @@bassplayer807 We've seen people do that.
      The more practical way of doing that is if you're using the DI OUT on one, you can use the cab sim for both preamps.

  • @MrScannermann

    Is there much difference between this and the BassRig SV?

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  Год назад +2

      They're very different designs.
      One being a bass amp with cab, the other being inspired by a mic-pre.

    Always a pleasure watching Ian demonstrate these pedals, but I was hoping he would pull out a Hofner as part of the demonstration. Most unfortunate.

      With so many basses to his name, it's a wonder he ever narrow down what he wants to use!

    Why so loud when turned on? A little bit misleading as to its sound. Best version is 2:24,
