  • Nick and I finally get to maiden both the Flex Edge 540, and the AJ Aircraft Raven. Not quite as expected, watch to see Nicks "not so happy" ending! They cant all be wins?

    Sitting infront of a plane to start it is incredibly dangerous. If the tail hook breaks or comes loose or the person holding it falls or their grip slips you have no chance at getting out of the way and the prop could hit your whole body, face or head. If you’re standing you have a chance to move and if you don’t it should only hit a leg.
    We had a club member who always started his plane from a kneel and the above happened. He couldn’t move fast enough but did get his arm infront of his face which might have saved his life.
    He doesn’t kneel anymore.

    I'm putting together an AJ aircraft 92 inch laser 200 Z but the next plane will definitely be the 92 inch Raven with Edge wings. Could you please tell me what app you're using on your phone to measure degrees when setting up your plane. Thanks

      We love AJ Aircraft! We here alot of good things about the Laser, it’s very popular out here in our area. We use the generic iPhone level, it works well and is very accurate. Once set on the control surface just tap the center to zero.

      I think Horizon Hobby sells one that's fairly inexpensive. This will work well. You can also use a ruler and match both sides.

    why fly with a gyro in the giant scale? i get it with the small foamies etc, but why 50cc and up?

    • @hobbyxtremerc
      @hobbyxtremerc  15 дней назад

      That’s a good question, a gyro can do a lot of things today, and the beginner ones will even help you stay level and even help you land. When you get more advanced, gyros are not setup to help fly the plane, but rather help make it more enjoyable by smoothing out maneuvers. On larger aircraft the gyro will not prevent you from overbanking etc, but more over acts as a shock absorber, like in a car.

    Where are you running your CG on the raven?

    • @hobbyxtremerc
      @hobbyxtremerc  10 месяцев назад

      Sorry for the late response I have been out of town that video we ran the recommended CG forgot exactly what it was. Whatever was in the manual, but found it to be a bit nose heavy we have been slowly moving the CG back by repositioning the batteries in the attempt to make it more aggressive, we will try to do an update video on the raven.

    Dle, eme are great engines too.

      @hobbyxtremerc  3 месяца назад

      We don’t have any experience with EME, but we have owned DLE. All of them have their pro’s and con’s, but most of all it’s noise that puts a smile on our faces!

    Only two engine options? There's many more just as good as DA and GP.

    • @hobbyxtremerc
      @hobbyxtremerc  5 месяцев назад

      You’re correct There absolutely are a bunch of other fantastic options. This is only our personal opinion. We believe that the two companies with the quality and performance that we’re looking for is DA or GP. Although we are still learning, if you feel there is a comparable or even better engine in your opinion, please let us know. :)

      Nick and I were just talking about how amazing it is that RUclips has this kind of world reach. Can I ask you a question, what radio brand is most prominent in Austria? Are you guys having any 5G problems with your systems, are you seeing any hits or signal losses?

    • @_D_K_2_3_
      @_D_K_2_3_ Год назад +1

      As far as I can tell Jeti is most prominent followed by Spektrum, then I would say Futaba & Powerbox share third place. Regarding 5G there is really no interference up to this point since its a very rural country with little to no 5G development yet - so no problems there fortunately 👍

    Jeti is a waste of money for local line of sight RC flying, Futaba is the same quality for a lot less cost.

    • @hobbyxtremerc
      @hobbyxtremerc  Год назад +3

      That’s the thing about this hobby, it’s really all just personal preference. Functionality has changed over the years and some radios have adapted better than others. We like Futaba, but lets be honest…..nothing in this hobby is a waste of money, it’s all awesome!

      @@hobbyxtremerc you’re right, I’m probably just jealous that I can’t afford Jeti. Maybe one day my dreams will come true, and I pray that yours do too. Great 👍 flying Ace… So really Honestly, is it the prestige of it…? Jeti Equipment that is…

    • @hobbyxtremerc
      @hobbyxtremerc  Год назад

      @@itzjoeylo4501 I don’t think Jeti is any more “prestigious” than any other brand. Each radio has different functionality, and Jeti has more telemetry options as discussed in the video. We like telemetry when flying turbine models.;-)

    • @itzjoeylo4501
      @itzjoeylo4501 Год назад

      @@hobbyxtremerc but my point is, you could have spent more than half with Futaba and still have a very respectable and reliable RC Air System. That’s all I’m saying, Jeti is to Rolex as Futaba is to Tag Heuer. Are you understanding me now, Futaba’s Telemetry suite of products are industry leading.
