Biking the Entire Length of Lake County, Illinois (Des Plaines River Trail)

Explore the Wisconsin border and the entire length of Lake County on our way from Winthrop Harbor to Des Plaines. The trip covers most of the rest of the Des Plaines River Trail, winding through beautiful forests, nature preserves, and flooded highway underpasses. The trip comprised of over 2 hours of Metra riding and approximately 50 miles of biking (had no watch discipline that day).

Nice video. This trail system is in my back yard, yet you covered more of it on one trip than I've seen in thirty years! Perhaps something I'll take on some day. Shame about the underpasses.

@hatpeach1 It’s definitely worth the trip, and is even better in a drier season when the underpasses are clear. I would recommend either running or having gravel/mountain tires for the Cook County portion.
