This looks so fun!!! I’d like to see an old school competition with hooks, flip lines and climbing knots & hitches ONLY! No mechanical ascenders or other overpriced toys. And you have to carry the weight and frustration of a saw. Basically, real life tree climbing. This is still awesome to watch though.
I’m a journeyman lineman on storm for the first time in caleveras county ca. I have never seen such impressive hook climbers in my life. I want to get into the arborist apprenticeship
I’m looking to do something new. Or is it old? I used to love climbing as a kid. Now I’m a dad. Got old, heavier and board with life. I think I’d like to learn to climb for fun and health. Any advice?
We'd recommend starting with the Tree Climber's Companion by Jeff Jepson. It's a wealth of information on tree climbing. You really can't beat in-person, hands-on training. Maybe look into an organization like Tree Climbers International: treeclimbing.com/

I know of pretty much everybody in the video. But who is the guy with the cape?
I started climbing before I could walk. At 4 years old, compound fracture on my left arm from a 10 foot fall. :)
wow merci mille fois

A 66 year old farmer would like to know, “ Since when they have to start using ropes to climb trees “ lol?
:)
P.S. and safety helmets? Does no one have any sense of adventure anymore lol?
I suspect you banged your head at some point!
