Advanced Adventure is amazing. One of its best parts that didn't get mentioned here is that completing it unlocks a mode which allows you to, get this, play through the entire game with ANY existing enemy, from your random Red ribbon mook to Taopaipai or King Piccolo himself. See those bats at 10:45? You can play as that! Quite a few of them have a moveset just as rich as Goku's, too. It's actually nuts. Can't recommend that one enough if you have even a passing interest in OG Dragon Ball.
@@CyclonSilver I'm assuming that not everything is playable, as certain bosses (especially Buyon the Jiggler) would be pretty much impossible to play as , and I can imagine some of those big ass Mechs aren't playable either, but at least I should be able to play as Giran.
I remember playing that game so much only to get stuck on the part where you have to flip some switches in a certain order in a cave to progress and never being able to get past that

Man, Legacy of Goku was so bad and yet such a good idea. I'm really happy that Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury were still fun. I really need to go back an re-play Buu's Fury, it's been ages! Also I'm actually a really big fan of the DBZ collectable card game on GBA. It's one of the laziest games I've ever played, but the actual card game is fun so I quite like the GBA game. It is REALLY slow though. Taiketsu was horrible. Supersonic warriors was fun though! The DS Sequel had some really fun "What if" story mode levels. Advanced Adventure though, THAT game had me obsessed with it for months! So much bonus content like replaying the story with Krillin was great!
the card game was strangely addicting for me, I almost had every single card in the game until my copy disappeared, I had to completely restart with an emulator, I was pissed, I had a pretty broken black tokuiwaza deck
Best thing about advanced adventure is that post game you unlock a Krillin campaign and after that if you find the dragonballs you unlock the ability to play as every enemy in the game. (if you find their icons) bosses, fighting mode roster, even the grunts. They're all selectable
Supersonic Warriors is easily one of my favorite Dragon Ball games. The fact that they were able to map, like, 15 different inputs between 4 action buttons is crazy! But as difficult as that probably was to do, it was actually a blessing. Because they had to map multiple commands to the same handful of buttons, the controls are a lot more tight and snappy. Even little details like the ability to clash with your opponent when both of you spam your light melee attacks. Or how air dashing into a melee attack causes you to do a knockback move with a different animation. For a gameboy advance game they packed so much into it. The story mode is easily one of the best in any dragon ball game.
I played the HELL out of LoG II back in middle/high school and I loved every minute of it. I completed the game several times, even getting the "Mr. Satan ending" which took a lot of grinding but I didn't care, I just wanted to keep playing
I enjoyed both Buu's Fury and GT Transformations when I was a kid but I guess I enjoyed the latter because GT has a special place in my heart. I never noticed it tried to be a story driven game to be honest.
For me, Buu's Fury was the best Dragon Ball Z GBA game. I had so much fun and got most of my lore from it at the time. The rest are a mixed bag, but still somewhat fun. Good job on covering these games!

i've played through the first Legacy game and I can confirm that it BARELY gets better. At some point you get Solar Flare and gameplay consists of learning about how long to charge VS how long that stuns for and just beating the shit out of the opponent, and at some point the Kamehameha which hits like a mack truck but also eats basically all of your energy Protip: saving your game will make all of the healing items on the ground respawn, abuse this MALICIOUSLY because the game has no healing spots at all besides items you find and a full heal upon leveling up. I think you also just keep all of your EXP when you reload a save without turning the game off after death, something dumb like that.
Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku 2 and Dragon Ball Z Buu's Fury on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance handheld system will always be the best handheld Dragon Ball game ever.
The quality gap between LoG1 and LoG2 was simply mind blowing. Literally went from one of the worst games on GBA to one of the BEST RPGs on the whole platform. Webfoot games really went above and beyond fixing the game according to fan feedback.
Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure seems like a game I would have put countless hours in due to the story, visual style, and doing multiple genres well. Fascinated to think Dragon Ball had a card based game even then, good that they revisited the genre in Dragon Ball Heroes Mission.
Yeah dude, one of my favorite anime only filler episodes that, thankfully, DB Kai took out. But I didn't mind the Other World Tournament filler arc. Good video, agree so much with the views, legacy of goku II and buu's fury are 2 of my fave dbz games, mostly cause I did play them as a kid, advanced adventure is probs the best adaptation of original dragonball and is way more fun than it should be. I've started playing the some of the psp titles for the first time, and I'm sadly enjoying them too! Wish I had a psp growing up.

Because GT was seen as non-canon to creator Akira Toriyama himself. Other than the SSJ 4 stuff. And was cancelled after 2 seasons. Toriyama HATED GT. Everything that made the previous DB series great, GT ruined. GT was easily the WORST part of Dragon Ball. It just rereads things already done in the original Dragon Ball and the Z portion of Dragon Ball's story. From the running around, collecting Dragon Ball's themselves, to fighting the Androids. With some fun stuff in the middle, with the Baby Arc, and the final arc with Omega Shenron, and the SSJ 4 Goku and Vegeta, and SSJ 4 Gogeta stuff. With the exceptions of these things: Omega Shenron, Baby Vegeta/Super Great Ape Oozaru Baby Vegeta, SSJ 4 Goku/Vegeta/Gogeta, Toriyama HIMSELF considers GT, to be nothing more than a non-canon spinoff of Dragon Ball Z. But the SS4 things were easily the best parts of GT. Especially SS4 Gogeta vs Omega Shenron. The BEST fight in GT, and the best fight in that series. Besides SS4 Goku vs. Super Baby Vegeta.
Yep, you know the one. That one iconic battle that NEVER, ever, happened, ever? Yeah...so iconic that it's yet to have even happened... That's how iconic we are talking here.
Legacy of goku 2 only let's you save before the cut scenes because if it let you save directly before the battle and your level or skill wasn't high enough to win then you would be effectively soft locked.
Legacy of Goku 2 was my jam as a kid. I didn't have a way of watching DBZ as kid so LoG2 was how I experienced the series. I actually thought the story ended with the Cell Saga so Goku's death and refusal to come back actually made kid me cry haha
I think SuperSonic warriors was my most favorite but Banpresto and Atari should add more characters on the first sequel. And add more locations, And the option in Free battle where you can choose your location before you'll fight your match after you choose your character and your opponent back then.
As a kid, I had the entire Legacy of Goku series, Advanced Adventure, and Transformations. I think I about wore out my GBA playing Legacy of Goku 2, Buu's Fury, and Advanced Adventure. I did somehow manage to beat Transformations as a kid, but this is a feat I've never been able to bring myself to do again. Legacy of Goku 1... I rage quit after spending an hour punching snakes.
Super Sonic warriors seemed like the best game of the group. I played these games on an emulator a while ago, and while it was difficult without a gba type controller, i was able to get some solid playtime out of it. Super Sonic warriors had a very Z esque battle feel, and had an interesting story mode. the What-ifs weren't all that bad. I remember liking the Piccolo story line where, Piccolo realizing he's still not whole decides to seek out Piccolo-Daimao's essence in Hell and Fuse with him. I didn't finish the story but that was a really cool concept.
Lmao you're complaint for legacy of goku 2, for not finishing it, was the saving before the cut scenes😂😂? Yea yea everyone can have their own opinions, but lol that's dumb for a short game like that. It's really not that big a deal, not big enough to quit playing it.
I don't understand how people dislike transformation, for a gba beat em up in my opinion is really solid the sprites (other than a few) are really clean looking, the sound effects when attacking are really satisfying. The game seems difficult but it's probably just due to the lack of explanation, your other party members regen health when not in use you can also actively switch out between them at anytime. Their are button commands for special moves iirc a+b, L+a+b etc. Don't take gillys word for it before you try it out yourself is all I'm saying.
So there's a part in Legacy of Goku at the end where you gotta find these 3 "spheres" in order to progress. I could never find the last one. I literally maxed out level multiple times playing the game trying to beat it back in the day. Not worth it without a guild... Learn of a couple good games tho. Good Deal!
It's refreshing to hear your take on the Legacy of Goku series. I neither grew up with it nor played it. All I ever heard was that it was amazing, and every time I'd look at it I'd think "This game? Really?"
I remember crying over Legend of Goku because I got so frustrated as a kid. I used an infinity cheat (infinite ki/invisibility) just to play it. Thank you for covering these ^^
Ima say this, you dont need save states for legacy of goku 2. You would only need it if you really suck and you dont try to level up. I played through the whole thing as a kid and only lost like twice.
Honestly when I was 13 my dad downloaded a gba emulator with a bunch of games onto his tablet and one of those games was dragon ball advance adventure and I have to say I really liked this game even though I don't play console games on tablets or phones anymore
I think you missed one, there was a turn based game where you had to press specific "combos" to attack. I think the attacks were "cards" but that was just an additional gimmick, in reality it was just a turn based combat system.
So we had this raffle auction thing at my daycare when I was like 8, we could earn tickets doing things (don't remember how we earned them) but I won the game and it was fantastic. The guy that helped run the daycare got me into DBZ and even Magic The Gathering when I was super young. Awesome dude, he was so cool.
I know legacy of goku 1 isn’t great but you still have to play it first cause if you skip it and jump straight into 2 you’ll be wondering. Well where’s the first 2 arcs
It took me forever to actually beat the legacy of goku. In the last bit you have to find 3 jewels and I couldn't find the last one until I noticed an enemy walking behind a wall. Lo and behold the jewel was there
i spent a lot of hours playing advanced adventure actually more than legacy of goku 2 and buu's fury SSW is one of my favorite but it's no comparison to Advanced Adventure
I had a gameboy advanced game that was the legacy of goku games both onto one cartridge. I played legacy of goku 2 all the time and at one point even got stuck on a puzzle and kept playing until vegeta (the char I played the most) was max level and way overpowered. I kept trying to play the first one but by god I couldn't stand it. I think the puzzle I got stuck on was shortly after the long cutscene u were talking about and never ended up finding how to complete it in game. It's not too bad now because of internet but at the time I had no access.

The iconic battle of goku vs Broly on snake way 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yep, you know the one. That one iconic battle that NEVER, ever, happened, ever? Yeah...so iconic that it's yet to have even happened... That's how iconic we are talking here.
Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury; oh the nostalgia!!
Legacy of goku 2 only let's you save before the cut scenes because if it let you save directly before the battle and your level or skill wasn't high enough to win then you would be effectively soft locked.
I beat legacy of Goku 1 and it was actually good, the final boss is tough and I made sure I was max lv. I still enjoyed it
Legacy of Goku 2 was my jam as a kid.
I didn't have a way of watching DBZ as kid so LoG2 was how I experienced the series. I actually thought the story ended with the Cell Saga so Goku's death and refusal to come back actually made kid me cry haha
Buu’s fury was the best game on GBA next to Pokémon. Especially grinding to unlock Gogeta
I think SuperSonic warriors was my most favorite but Banpresto and Atari should add more characters on the first sequel. And add more locations, And the option in Free battle where you can choose your location before you'll fight your match after you choose your character and your opponent back then.
I had Buu's Fury and GT. They both were pretty awesome. I also had that arcade style game that came out before Buu's Fury.
I didnt know I needed this video. Thank you
I had Legacy of Goku as a kid. Without lots of grinding or the invincible fly glitch it was such a pain to play.
2:14 "You gotta touch him real quick and go! oooooh, you gotta touch him real quick and go!"
-Jontron (some time before 2016)
2012, on his 21st birthday video.
@@SantaFeSuperChief1 Ah, thanks. I wasn't sure when that video was uploaded since it was deleted, and the only thing I could find was a reupload.
The legacy of gokus were all about getting super over leveled and having fun. I loved 1 and 2 so much. Worth the whole ride
buus fury was amazing as a kid, its easily in my top favorites for gba games. i still have a CIB
I LOVE Dragon Ball Adventure. It's amazing. It has a great mix of styles and everything not only controls well but looks amazing 👍
Lmao you're complaint for legacy of goku 2, for not finishing it, was the saving before the cut scenes😂😂? Yea yea everyone can have their own opinions, but lol that's dumb for a short game like that. It's really not that big a deal, not big enough to quit playing it.
In your opinion
2:16 whats the name of it tho I know it’s dragon ball but dragon ball what
I don't understand how people dislike transformation, for a gba beat em up in my opinion is really solid the sprites (other than a few) are really clean looking, the sound effects when attacking are really satisfying.
The legacy of Goku series was the BEST!
So there's a part in Legacy of Goku at the end where you gotta find these 3 "spheres" in order to progress. I could never find the last one. I literally maxed out level multiple times playing the game trying to beat it back in the day. Not worth it without a guild...
Learn of a couple good games tho. Good Deal!
Supersonic warriors 2 will always be my favourite DBZ game
Advanced Adventure is by far my favorite DragonBall game. I really enjoyed it
It's refreshing to hear your take on the Legacy of Goku series. I neither grew up with it nor played it. All I ever heard was that it was amazing, and every time I'd look at it I'd think "This game? Really?"
So nice to see Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure getting the love and credit it deserves
I remember crying over Legend of Goku because I got so frustrated as a kid. I used an infinity cheat (infinite ki/invisibility) just to play it. Thank you for covering these ^^
Supersonic warrios was wild man... played with family sometimes... good times. Taiketsu was aight defenetly had its flaws
Even the games make me care more about the original Dragon Ball arcs over the Z arcs.
Supersonic Warrios was just amazing, definitely gave the tenkaichi sensation before tenkaichi.
I think you missed one, there was a turn based game where you had to press specific "combos" to attack. I think the attacks were "cards" but that was just an additional gimmick, in reality it was just a turn based combat system.
Wasn’t that on the DS?
@@kaelinjefferies9267Yes it was on the DS. It was called "Dragon Ball Harakanaru Densetsu".
Legacy of Goku 2 is one of my favorite games back then
Some of these games were pretty fun. My favorite was Dragonball Advance Adventure
You didn't even mention the fact that the items were completely overhauled. Kind of a big difference between legacy of goku 2 and 3
I know legacy of goku 1 isn’t great but you still have to play it first cause if you skip it and jump straight into 2 you’ll be wondering. Well where’s the first 2 arcs
Advanced Adventure is GOATED
Buu’s Fury is my favourite for sure
Legacy of Goku 2 is one of my fav games
It took me forever to actually beat the legacy of goku. In the last bit you have to find 3 jewels and I couldn't find the last one until I noticed an enemy walking behind a wall. Lo and behold the jewel was there
Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure id probably my favorite db game of all time. Its just too good
Dude def use the invincible cheat code on legacy of Goku 1 to finish it off. Worth going through once.
Man, I love DBZ buus fury. Can you/someone show me how to download it on my iPhone?
DBZ Taiketsu, even when I was younger I thought it was bad. You could hold R (grab) the entire time and win every single fight.
LOG ii and BF are both great games
Ok I love Leg of Goku. But Advanced Adventure had me in a chokehold.
i spent a lot of hours playing advanced adventure
actually more than legacy of goku 2 and buu's fury
SSW is one of my favorite but it's no comparison to Advanced Adventure
I think I might be the only person in the world who liked the OG Legacy of Goku. Felt so proud when I finally beat it.
Legacy of Goku 2 and buu’s fury where the best.
