    Best way to stop all these monthly credits is for customers to get fed up with it and cancel. That's the only thing that will get them to change.

    I hate those monthly credits, however, the Avis appears to be easy to use bringing the annual fee down close to the old fee. For me the real pain point is paying for the authorized users now.

      @thebrandonboydshow  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yep. 100%. That’s why I wanted to be sure that was mentioned. Really a downer overall for the card. Not a fan.

    I just filmed a video talking about the Citi Aadvantage executive annual fee increase. I agree that having to ride Lyft 3 times to get $10 back is very annoying. Also a restaurant credit would be way better than a Grubhub credit since it would work everywhere and going directly to the restaurant is cheaper. If that guys fiance is racking up credit card debt frequently, then that is a red flag as finances between them could really get messy later down the road between him and her. She likely will want to increase spending instead of taking the opportunity to pay down CC debt and get ahead.

    • @thebrandonboydshow
      @thebrandonboydshow  10 месяцев назад

      It’s a bad update for the card. No way around it for me. We’ll probably cancel when the fee comes due. Unfortunate.

      @@thebrandonboydshow Anyone who has a car or a Motorcycle at home is going to not think about using the Lyft benefit. Maybe Citi will at the very least change the Lyft benefit to a $10 credit on your first ride for that month and not having to ride it 3 times before.

    Could one get the Southwest offer and spend the $3,000 before 90 days and then complete the $15,000 spend in January of 2024 to get the companion Pass for '24 and '25...?

    • @thebrandonboydshow
      @thebrandonboydshow  10 месяцев назад +1

      As long as the points earned don’t post until the new year 2024. Some of those points could in theory be earned in January/February next year. The 60k you earn for the first $3k spend doesn’t roll over. However the second 60k could.

    Regarding the SW B card, what do you think of this strategy? Sign up for this card in late August, get the first 60K points within 3 months, but don't finish the final 60K until January. At the end of 2023, sign up for the personal card.
    As a data point, a couple years ago I signed up for the business card in late November and at the time, it an 80K sign-up bonus...and the personal card had a 50K bonus.

    • @thebrandonboydshow
      @thebrandonboydshow  10 месяцев назад

      Not a bad strategy. As you mentioned you’re essentially going to call the first 60k a loss because it doesn’t roll over. However, if you plan on combining with a personal card that could work if timed correctly. Go for it!

    • @gregb5876
      @gregb5876 10 месяцев назад +1

      In addition, don't forget with this business CC, you get 10K Companion Qualifying points each calendar year, so that will also help you earn the companion pass early in 2024 when you complete the $15k spend.

    I think he is in the right to use that money to pay off his bills. Also him paying off his bills does help THEM. It would make it less things they need to pay off together when they are married... but in this case... i dont think thats in their future anymore.

    If you have too many credit cards close them. Pay the annual. Really, you complaining about annual fees when you apply for the credit cards. Hello, did you not read the terms and conditions when you applied to each card. You and your wife abuse the system. Thumbs Down.

    • @thebrandonboydshow

      Thanks for the tips. I will 100% complain about the annual fees when they increase without providing enough value to back them. Also, this channel is focused on showing people how to use their multiple cards to travel and do things they may otherwise never pay for themselves. I give that a big thumbs up!
