I am crying I kind of thought I messed up my 3DS when I got excited and reformatted my sd card for something else and didn't make a back up. I was looking for a few days and couldn't find many answers, I was confused by the advise since this is my first time modding it and I came across this video. Thanks for the help! I had to factory reset my already hacked 3DS to fix a glitch that would happen whenever I play a 3DS Pokémon game and checked on the pc, it would cause the game to crash. I thought factory resetting the system would totally remove any type of homebrew that was on my system, but it didn't. This tutorial helps me restore all of my homebrew that was on my SD card without hacking my 3DS again.

I just followed this video. I started modding my 3ds xl and memory card went bad during the install and battery died charger got knocked out of the wall and didn’t realize it.when I pressed the power button it would flash a blue light a couple of times and then turned off. This video saved my 3 ds xl. It now works. Thank you.

My sd card had some very odd corruption. After installing the latest luma patch it worked but none of the apps really did anything. Cia for example didnt load, homebrew worked but none of the apps did. I could access the gm9 menu and everything else but didnt know what to do. Following this guide to just get the finalize to work was all i needed. Thank you!!

True. Nintendo needs to stop patching out homebrew/CFW by releasing stupid, pointless, firmware updates. That company should’ve just surrendered a long time ago

I’ve done this method as a new system, and not sure how to use cheats for 3ds games. Or have they gotten rid of that?
so in the luma menu there is an option for cheats, they combined sharkive with check point so you can download cheats using check point for most saved games on your 3ds, ntr plugins unfortunately hasnt been updated yet

Had an issue where I couldn't update the console, but it worked on the third attempt. Just goes to show that the old addage about trying the same thing over and over doesn't apply to electronics

hi i was watching your video about formatting a modded 3ds and just did and used the starter pack but was confused as there was no dsp app in it but in this video the final result is the same as mine so do I not need the dsp app and luma updater?

Thank you very much, I finally modded it with the video because everything worked except in one part the reset sd card thing didnt work or happen but then the apps appeared in presents but i finished the proccess and it worked bc in the video the reset thing was if it was in us region no? But mine is now like region free

@@sthetixofficial sadly the one thing is in godmode nine it shows i have 119gb but when in the data management and go to 3ds it says i have like 964,999 something blocks

Question for OP or anyone who can help: I'm considering buying a new 3ds xl sight unseen but I know it is bricked. I don't have a heap of experience modding but i do have a little. I'm pretty sure it was bricked in the last few months so probably after the last update. Is it worth it for me to take the chance trying to unbrick? Are the resources available enough that someone without a ton of experience could handle it? Thanks in advance.
well, you can try to unbrick it, but you need to know what kind of brick does the console suffer.
Hi i got a problem where the app in the home disappeared, like fbi, anemone, ecc. I think it happened for an error occurred on the pksm rom hack where it got a problem and deleted all the app. Can you give me any advice?

Hello thanks for all the guides and help! I just ran into a problem... recently I had to data memory reset my 3ds and start it again from 0 to create a new ID Network. I have followed another guides of how to download games to homebrew and from there download it with FBI but now when I checked my files from the SD Card (Pokemon Sun, Ultra Moon, and other versions) I do have the folders but they have 0 GB data meaning they are now empty folders... is there a way to fix this? I still have the saved data though and the information inside the GodMode I can check it all there but it still seems to be empty when comes to the game folders. The backups are still there though.
try to replace the sdcard and see
Thank you actually I had to pass it inside Finalize folder where I got .cia files and also download all the games again (which wasn't an issue since I have the back-ups now is all perfect!) 😁
well what do i do if i have the strarter psck thing installed and it still only goes to the normal start menu ive been siting herre for there hours and still nothing works

What if my sd card is empty but my system still boots into the 1:00 luma screen? Should I still follow this guide? 3:58 My sd card doesn't have any of the luma stuff there. Only the nintendo 3ds folder.

I'm at version 11.14.0 but I already modded my 2ds, do I just update the version like normal? Is it going to remove the mod?
it is ok to update the modded 3ds to the latest firmware.
So is this guide just to get those mod applications? Because I already have all of those mod applications from doing a different modding tutorial before this video came out

Hello, What allocation unit size should I use when format SD card to FAT32, I have 32GB SD card.
32GB is automatically FAT32, no need to set the allocation unit
Help what do I do if when I go to Miscellaneous Options and then Dump DSP firmware it says operation failed, make sure that Home Menu is running and that your SD card is inserted? I just bought a new micro SD card.

I have a modified O3DS, I just want to update it to a new version. I first looked at your old video where you just updated the Luma and GM9 files. I have the firmware version 1.16, Luma- 10.2.1, GM- 1.9.1. Do I just update the Luma and GM9 files or do I need to do something else? I want save all my files/games/saves. And it turns out finilizing setup for a "clean" installation?

if you need to update the luma, just download the pack and extract the boot.firm and the boot.3dsx to your sd card. If you want to reinstall the essential files, please follow the whole guide.

i had tried to uptade the 3ds, but i have a lot of archives in the sd now, i wanna know how to updated and erase the non essential archive. (if is not possible, how do i erase evirithing in the sd card but keep the 3ds hacked?)
what archives? formatting the sd card wont delete the console hack.

it depends, 32GB is standard i think. however you can get a higher capacity sd card as well like 128gb or more
Would a 512gb Micro sd card work on a modded 3ds if change the micro sd card to Fat32?
it will work but it is slower. but fyi not all higher capacity sdcard compatible with the console

bro, my O3DS is playing the game Pokemon Sun & Moon and Monster Hunter XX, but the screen is black while the other games can be started. This is problematic in games with a size of 2GB+
maybe it is not intended to be installed in the o3ds

try replacing the SD card or check if the boot.firm is inside the SD or check if your SD card is fat32

you can update the console just fine. it wont brick or harm the console

yes you need to update the luma3ds by extracting the github.com/sthetix/3DS-Starterpack/releases
@@sthetixofficial That reminds me, if you never updated Luma3DS after installing it or the console after Nintendo f*ed everything up for everyone, would that be problematic for my 3DS consoles? I have 4 "jailbreak" 3DS devices, all never updated in any way since using the bannerbomb tutorial.
Hello, I have a question, can you help me please? I have hacked o3ds xl and device stays on black screen when opening some games. I learned that the problem was in cfw. So I had to install clean cfw on the device. But I don't know what to do. Do I need to ofw the device first, or is there a different way to refresh the cfw? By the way, I bought the device second hand and replaced the low-capacity sd card with a high-capacity one. What do you suggest I do? Thank you from now.
CFW is never an issue. Your game is the issue. Try to reformat the console and reinstall the game or try using a legit game.

Format it as fat32 and follow the guide.

it does not delete your data. so it is safe to do. however if u want to make a backup, just copy paste the sdcard to your computer

@@sthetixofficial Oh yeah, I forgot that Nintendo went nuts and physically "patched" all Nintendo Switch after the first wave of consoles.
I have a 1st Gen Nintendo Switch but I confirm it is a patched version and I suppose the Nintendo Switch Lite I also own is too.

@@sthetixofficial I was trying to home-brew my console and everything went right in order to home-brew it until I had to finalize and to do that I had to go into god mode 9 but anytime I hold the start button and press the power button it just powers in normally. This is my first modding my console so I don’t really know what I’m doing

My sd card got corrupted and I took the files and resored them somewhat, than after that I copied them to my computer and the sd card got write protected somehow. Is this normal? What happened?

@sthetixofficial 100% modded, I have homebrews and everything just doesn't load up when I hold the buttons still but I managed to get it working with downloaded the files to the SD card again

Hi! I've been trying to CTRTransfer my japanese new 3ds ll to change the UI language to English. However, I can't get the "CTRNand Options..." option to show up in the godmode9 menu when I select the 11.50.0-47u_ctrtransfer.n3ds.bin file. Do you think you can help me? Thanks in advance!
Did you download the bin file?
@@sthetixofficial I'm unsure whether the file on the website was corrupted or if it was just my computer, however, I was able to just install the european version and it works flawlessly.
When I click scripts and click Finalize, it works for the first A press, but after I press A again, it says

you can just delete the Nintendo 3ds folder.. dcim is the camera image folder
