- "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" star Richard Belzer passed away early Sunday morning. A friend of Belzer's confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the actor was suffering from health issues. The veteran actor was 78.

I caught his HBO comedy special as a kid and it was hilarious. The man could do both comedy and drama. Hollywood is worse off.

Best character on the show since childhood. He was funny . Always thinking there is conspiracy. He makes so much sense in all scenes. God ret his soul. Saddened by this news

Richard Beltzer played John Munch in other tv series a , such as Homicide Life on the street .He was great actor , funny and down to earth

All I can say, is that between Richard and Gilbert, they are going to have the angels peeing in their pants ;-) Richard, thank you for the many years of entertainment you provided us. I’m so happy I got to meet you at Howard sterns underpants in lingerie party back in the 1980s. It was a real treat and I will never forget it. Peace.
