I really like that this video included the Land-death misplay moment. Veggie's interlude on owning your misplays felt super genuine. It's refreshing to see professional and iconic Magic players do the same things I do at my home table. Big ups for including that very real moment, guys.
I wish there could be a 5-player pod so I could see you 4 + AirBall, you're literally my top 5 from all the commander shows. Keep up the great work! Love from Brazil :)
Love the game. always a treat. Joe's Captain America Should have gone back to hand when it died to Wolverine due to the "sword of the realm". "when equipped creature die return it to its owner's hand". Curious if that would have changed the game at all.
This is an understandable miss, but if you try to equip and the targeted creature is removed in response the equipment stays where it was originally. If that was equipped to a creature that's where it stays. BoP didn't need to tap to pay an equip cost because the Boots were already attached.
Great episode as always! Loved seeing these new Marvel commanders in action. Very curious how Iron Man plays, I’m currently building a deck around him.
So we have dual plans for storm in our play group, myself… making Storm group hug throwing the usual staples into hive mind so everyone decks out by drawing and ramping. My friend is playing storm chaos so we can storm off with warp world and profit :) cheers and always love and laughter in your lives :)
@@DeckedOutEDH Well in Nerd Girl's case, she chose to eat the damage and save the interaction for storm, fair enough. In veggie's case though, he had a 6/6 First Strike and just chose to take the 8/6 Captain's damage instead of blocking.
Sometimes it seems like the other players fall for the "I'm super helpful you should let me pump steroids into my creatures" strat every time? Like they're more worried that maybe somethin cool will happen we gotta stop that oh no where'd this knife in my back come from?
I know this is a weird random question, but around 22:30 to 22:40, does anyone know the instrumental music being used? Been using that song for SO LONG and haven't been able to find it😅😅
i have a question about the interaction that happened at 21:00 since wolverine has trample and it has 7 power shouldnt it be able to assign 3 to the land since thats lethal and then trample 4 over dealing 8 i know it works with deathtouch just curious
Sadly not. Because even though the double would be lethal, you still have to assign an actual amount of damage points for it to be lethal before the double.
Honestly Veggie's deck made me want to try land Animator. Usually avoid that style of deck but I enjoyed the idea of this one. Oh god I'm converted now.
21:55 Doesn't Wolverine double damage before seeing what tramples through? Veggie blocked with 5 toughness, Wolverine was a 7/5 so dealt 14. Should Veggie have taken 9 commander damage?
Veggie here! Trample is not "extra damage goes through" it's "after assigning lethal, you may assign extra to the player" so figure out trample before doubling the 2 numbers
So Wolverine doing double damage to the defending creature doesn't mean anything? I thought he doubled damage to blocker, then rest spilled over to opponent's life total. @DeckedOutEDH
@@DeckedOutEDH I thought that because the wording is "would deal", it doubled before applying its damage to the blocker itself, since the "would deal" condition is met before the actual damage step. It doubles Wolverine's power(or "damage Wolverine would deal") first, then the damage is dealt to the blocker and the excess is dealt to the defending player, as stated in Trample's ruling
@@dimirguildmasterPer 702.19b you don't take Wolverine's replacement effect into account when assigning lethal damage. If the ability did double the damage he assigns it could work, but that isn't what is happening.
@DeckedOutEDH if the damage reflected off of a commander is delt to a player i thought it was still commander damage wolverine was at 9 and deals damage twice that would be 18 wit a plus 1 counter on black panther couldnt she have been finished off since that would be 21 commander damage or did i misunderstand the rule ps i love watching your guy's show
@@williampittam1 Commander damage is tracked separately. You have to take 21 combat damage from a single commander to lose the game. While yes, NerdGirl did take 18 of her own commander damage, someone would have to either have another way to redirect 3 combat damage or gain control and attack her with her Wolverine commander. See rule 903.10a for specifics.
Are you talking about the Deflecting Palm? That's wrong in multiple ways. Commander damage only counts as combat damage which Deflecting Palm is not. Deflecting Palm itself is the source of damage so it's not Wolverine's damage anyway.
Does anyone else get the vibe that they sound very robotic when playing the game? They aren’t loose or relaxed. Very stiff with their vocabulary and movements
Im a very simple man, i see the funny card man and I click.
I love Maldhound's undying hatred of green. ESPECIALLY when he's also playing green lol
He was even wearing green.
Mald: You kno how I deal with hate?
Joe: A monologue.😂😂😂
It was veggie not Joe who said that wasn't it?
Vegi said “ a monologue
Maldhound playing Storm is everything I needed today
I love Maldhound's joy at tracking storm during other turns knowing there's nothing better to do.
That's what that deck will do 99% of games
Legend says Maldhound is still tracking storm count

Mald is playing green?!
To be fair, he is playing Izzet plus Green.
I am playing Fair and Balanced Izzet with a very deserved amount of ramp thank you very much
i mean, temur is just izzet but you actually have mana
@@maldhound Ya deserve the ramp. From watchin ya vids it souns like Izzet usually gets it's lunch money stolen afore it can do anythin cool wit it.

That would make for some crazy games!
Veggie, NerdGirl, Joe and Maldhound! With a Proxy edited video? Let's FKN GOOOOOOOO!!! My favourite series on RUclips!
Return of the GOAT maldhound
that was a great episode!! Joe and Maldhound have senses of humor that really compliment each other 😸
Oh also, insert obligatory "Captain America pays his taxes!" joke when Joe pays for Veggie's Esper Sentinel!
I see Maldhound I auto click the vid. It’s always a treat when Maldhound is playing
Can we get a short of Vegie stating "own your miss plays!" I have a few people I need to send it too!!! 😂😂😂
I am a simple man, i see maldhound, i click.
veggie you missed your first black panther trigger on it's own etb:P
And on Esper Sentinel!
Love the game. always a treat.
Joe's Captain America Should have gone back to hand when it died to Wolverine due to the "sword of the realm". "when equipped creature die return it to its owner's hand". Curious if that would have changed the game at all.
Its a choice. When anything happens to a commander to remove it from play you can decide to put it back in the command zone or where it's being sent.
@@Nick-82 He can't decide to just leave it in the graveyard though, Joe would have had to put Captain America into his hand or the command zone.
5:43 i like how you read that when bp enters he puts a counter on a land, and then immediately didnt do that.
maldhound: "storm is actually not that good, if your entire deck is just setup and no payoff"
My favorite pair of guests! Love seeing Mauldy and Cherries on this show!
wow nerd girl is a bully lol. she has that mob aura threatening you for giving up all hope etc. solving everything with violence... and i love it.
Maldhound with the Endgame Capt america beard. MTGNerdgirl with the Wolverine love!

Storm seemed so spooky. Poor Muldhound did not really play that game. At least your commentary was on point.
We love our Maldhound, don't we folks?
Wow. You guys managed to bring on Cap America! Cool!
Best player line-up on YT in the last couple weeks.
Looks great! The land should've had 4 counters on it after the Elf entered though. BP counts itself as well
Great episode as always! Loved seeing these new Marvel commanders in action. Very curious how Iron Man plays, I’m currently building a deck around him.
To be fair, the bottom half of Captain America is pretty impressive. The card isn’t bad, either.
Maldhound is my spirit animal in this game.
I'm still waiting to see a match where veggie wins a game... #TeamVeggie
As an Army Captain like Captain America, I am honor-bound to root for Joe here.
Captain America actually picks up Mjolnir in Endgame.

love to watch this channel after work lol. Wish Vegi had played his Iron Man Bobbles Deck, but I am sure this game will be good regardless
8:23 It's never the wrong episode to make a Doctor Who reference!
24:19 Hecatoncheres. The hundred handed ones of Greek mythology
I really was expecting Mald to be playing Ironman.
The day this playgroup lets me touch a cheerios deck the video will just be me doing a 50' monologue
I feel like Veggie is forgetting BP has first strike
Oh man, I didn’t know how ruthless nerd girl could be. I love it you go girl 18:40
16:21 Is that true? When BP adds counters onto the lands and then move “Mines Vibranium “ from those lands…you must sack that land??
@@Nytellem the lands that died were created creatures by another spell that made the 0/0 base with counters.
“Do you know how you respond to hate? A monologue!”
i was not expecting to see joe here
Black Panther adds a counter when he comes in, missed the trigger.
Maldhound almost made it worth watching joe
Can't wait too see someone play Ajani
Two different people letting captain america through for free commander damage when they could take it out practically for free is *wild*.

Joe!!!! I miss them.
Where do you get those giant cards on display!?
There's Mauldhound😂❤🎉
17:13 but BP only puts +1/+1 counters on lands, it does not turn them into creatures 🤔
That land was made a creature by emergent sequence. So it was actually a creature.
@ ah ok, my bad then
Well, was Airball devastated?
Really hoping Captain America deck also has the Assassin's Creed card: Mjolnir
Gkad Joe is still doing stuff after getting shafted
Oh my god he actually talks like that IRL
Man I love mana on layaway
Black panther doesn’t animate the land, I’m confused about that so removing the counters wouldn’t destroy the land
The 1st land was made into a 0/0 from another spell. Removing the counters does kill it.

So Wolverine doing double damage to the defending creature doesn't mean anything? I thought he doubled damage to blocker, then rest spilled over to opponent's life total. @DeckedOutEDH
The damage to the blocker is doubled! So an x/5 needs to be dealt 5 damage, but then it is doubled to 10. So a pump would not save them.
@DeckedOutEDH so assigning damage is one thing and then resolving the damage is after in which he doubles it?

Just a quick question not every time e move counters from lands kill them “Black Panther” does turn them into creatures just puts counters on them.
The last that died was turn into a creature by another spell veggie played at the start of the game.
Too bad NerdGirl came with her claws out, putting a target on herself and got taken out quickly
She was able to kill someone on turn with commander damage super early but decided not to. She was always going to he a target.
